If you make a list and only buy what is on that list you will save money and if you can use coupons as well that helps alot as well. I try to buy things i have coupons for and also the ones that are buy one get one free with using the coupons. That helps tremendously too. I like to find those and the flyer for the local grocery store came out today so i will go home and probably see what i have coupons for and what is buy one get one free and go get those items. Why not save when you can. I try to do it all the time.
Ive also been also thinking about Christmas Gifts i have great apps on my phones that let me do great things. I can get giftcards and one app only allows you to get giftcards with amazon and then i have one other app that i can get amazon giftcard for and ill use that money to at least get something for my boyfriend on there and then i use mypoints online and will cash out my points very soon and get a target giftcard and use that to get items for cousins and the little ones in the family or parents who knows but love the giftcards and using them for christmas presents. SAVINGS

hey that is great. i meal plan and budget for my grocery shopping too. it is really tough to keep up when the prices are skyrocketing. i heard now that pork and especially bacon will be hard to come by in the next year. i didn't hear all the details but i sure will be following that story.
another way to save money is to make a lot of stews and soups over the winter. this helps a lot as well. i am looking forward to start making some homemade bread as well.

I don't have problems in budgeting our meal since were only
2 me and my daughter. I do cut some budget on my electricity
and some other expenses like buying things that are not
badly needed.

Good for you. Food prices are going to increase world wide in the near future and you have started well. I try to buy a few items extra with each grocery trip so I can have some stockpiled. I probably have enough nonperishables in the pantry to last me two or three months. I find few coupons for the items that I use, and I'm not going to buy something just to use a coupon. Some people do that. Doesn't make sense.
Stay with your new technique in budgeting. It will help in the long run.

Bhebe, you are great able to saved that much from your weekly food budget. When i first time started to budget my food, i am only able to save around 20%. After month by month of careful budgeting, i am able to save around 35% - 45%. Now, we are used to it that we only buy things that are important first. those unnecessary thins are being put on hold. We will only buy them when we have some extra funds in hand.

budgeting is one of the issue that we always argue with my wife during our early years together, i really admire wives who care for their husbands and of course for the whole family by thinking of ways how to save money,..well congratulations, 40 percent is a big savings...

own kitchen now I am in a tiresome retirement center. I used
to have my groceries delivered to our apartment and always
I budgeted my money, s pending wisely and eating for
my diabetes so as to keep my blood sugar normal.

It is always within range if I only buy what I write on the list but I have always been having a hard time to do that; I would say my husband intend to buy what on the list only but when we shop together, when we have more dinner ideas, he would grab extra also. Mostly, the food shopping trip is more expensive when we go shop food together.

I had the same experience mnay years ago, the first time that I felt we had some financial problems. Up to then, I went to the super with my husband and threw food and things into the cart. Then one day I said I`d separate what was really needed and what we has placed in the cart because we wanted to. The unnedded items were as expensive as the important ones. From then on, I made lists and don`t buy anyrhing it`s not there.

That is great that you have been able to save a lot of money when it comes to grocery shopping. I am trying to cut back as well, but prices keep on going up and the coupons are decreasing. I make a list and stick to it. Randy on the other hand buys whatever he wants and forgets to tell me what we need before shopping. I bought a white erase board so her can write things down. He never uses it. I am trying to save up between now and Christmas. I have so much to do and so little time to save up.
