Why many people love dogs? Dogs are different from other animals, you can share your lives with them and you will feel that they are true friend of ours. They are so loyal to their boss, like in the movie of Hachiko. Dogs love human companionship and very lovely. They welcoming you when you entering in the door. Dogs deserve gentle handling, our time and attention. Love can make a dog's world go round as much as love makes our world go round. When we give or lovely freely to our dogs, we receive their love in return. Dogs can truly be man's and woman's and children's best friends, and we should feel honored to be theirs, as well.

I have had dogs my entire life. One probably saved my life. Junior was my best friend for 14 years and when my wife passed away due to cancer he was the one that came to me laid his head on my lap,looked at me with those big brown eyes filled with love,effection and concern for me I was able to hug him close and bawl my eyes out with grief....He did not leave my side for days.
when he became ill and I had to face doing the right thing I feared that I did not have the guts to do it,but he let me know it was time and that iI would be OK,so the final trip to the vet was done.

Why do you wonder about the reason people love dogs? I see you know most of the reasons.
I think it's obvious to anybody that dogs are the most lovable animals to keep as pets.
I wouldn't keep any other kind of animal as a pet. I wonder why do people decide to take lizards or snakes as pets. Their company can't be compared with the love of a dog!

There are lots of reasons why people love dogs and you have already listed most of them because you are a dog lover yourself. I love animals, dogs are special though because they are intelligent, they look you in the eye, they listen for their favourite words, they do as you ask up to a point. They are almost human and it is easy to believe that they understand every word and agree with it. That is a big thing in their favour, they never argue. They are vulnerable in their need for love, affection and kindness. That's why people love dogs.

Animals are just tooo honest..
Like dogs,when they hate you they will bark or attack..
When they like you, they wag their tails, lick you, run around you and play with you.. That's why people are treating them real friends/family.. You'd get the best from them.. real sweetness, affection, companionship and fun!
They just can't fake.. unlike human being, some people hate each other but pretend to be nice, but backbites when they are not together :D
I have both dogs and cats..I love them.they make our house happier...

I agree. Dogs really are amazing animals that have a wonderful ability to draw us into their little lives. I have always had dogs and no other pet has come close to feeling the emotional space a canine does.
I think what makes them stand out is you can be yourself with them, without judgment. I know without my dog my PTSD episodes would be a whole lot harder.
