Mushroom poisoning

This is a strange discussion, I don't think I have seen one before on poison food! I buy my mushrooms in the supermarket and I am not very adventurous about it and always go for the same type, so the answer is that I know nothing about poison mushrooms. I did once find some growing at the back of my garden, and they looked just like the ones in the supermarket, but not wanting to take a chance I asked my neighbour what he thought about it. He looked at the mushroom and announced that it was fine to eat, he was a chef so I took his word for it and cooked some. My husband took a bite and said it tasted of ink. So the mushrooms got thrown away. I learned afterwards that there had been a mushroom growing company a short distance away, so it was probable that some spores had floated into my garden so the chef was right. Do fresh mushrooms taste of ink?
