I Can Always Rely On My Mum To Make Me Laugh!

Today was no exception (on the telephone). Apparently, she's suffering from eczema again - on her neck. She told me she's (either) got it back because she had a tense time at work the other day or it's due to a perfume she's found in the cupboard. I asked her what the perfume was. "Hang on a minute, I'll have a look." A couple of minutes later she started reading (what she thought) was the name of the perfume on the bottle. "Giorgio Armani..definitely that." "Anything else?" "Erm" Bit of a pause. Then she came out with some garbled lettering and NUMBERS like "9" and "n" and not making any sense at all. "Can't read what it says." she told me, sounding a bit frustrated. Another pause. "Aaaah, got it now...I'D GOT THE BOTTLE THE WRONG WAY ROUND! It says Sensi!" Apparently, she had tried reading the lettering the wrong way round, so she was seeing a mirror image through the clear bottle. Easily done. Haha!

It is great that you can always have a laugh with your Mum. I love talking to my Mum, and on the days that she is off work we can have such an amazing time because we both have exactly the same sense of humour. I think that laughing can make you feel a lot better if you're feeling down about something then there is nothing that will cure that more than laughing with someone who you love. I am lucky to live with my Mum because I don't know what I would do without her to be there for me all of the time.

I have a similar sense of humour to my Mum too. John sometimes mistakes me and her 'having a laugh' to me having a go at Mum's expense. It's not like that at all. She's exactly the same with me..ribbing me over certain things. At least we don't bottle our emotions up like his family do. Me and Mum can even laugh about her nearly falling over in her Crocs!

It is good to be able to laugh with her about all kinds of things. I hope her eczema gets better. I would bet on the fragrance, but that is me.

Yes, the thing is she has run out of her signature fragrance (that doesn't irritate her skin) which is Lancome's O de Lancome. If she doesn't manage to buy any for herself in the next few weeks my plan is to buy some with my online earnings if I can.

A sense of humour and being able to make people laugh is a talent! To me a sense of humour helps a great deal especially if you are suffering. My mum has bad ulcers, open wounds on both of her legs and she's had them for years now, but she still has a cheerful disposition, she won't let them get her down even though they are debilitating and she finds herself housebound, she too always know how to make me laugh, and she has this six sense and knows when I am down she will cheer me up and make me laugh. Thank you for sharing and putting a smile on my face too.

I have actually done that myself. I couldn't understand why I couldn't get the words to make sense.

What an amusing story! It was not a phone but a bottle , how come she got it the wrong way round? If I remember correctly your Dad once took the phone for remote control of TV set. They two are really comedians and no doubt Friday is the day you look forward to .

Not forgetting Sundays and Tuesdays lol. Mum was looking through the glass bottle, not realising the writing was at the back, not the front. This is why the word Sensi couldn't be read properly. Hope that makes sense..oh, and I've picked up the remote before instead of the phone, even though the remote is much bigger!

Everyone may make a funny mistake at times.Maybe it is because we think another thing while we are doing one thing.

I do too. We have been known to have telepathic powers as well. Mum has often read my mind before I come out with the words and vice versa.

Hi Janey yes your mom is one in a mnillion, I love to hear about her and her doing things that make one laugh..yep getting the bottle the wrong way to would make it hard to decipher. Yes it is so easy to do and I know I have done that too. I can usually figure it out but it takes some time.

Sometimes I think she should be on-stage (along with my Dad). I blog my diaries and I had such a laugh at an entry from 1988 would you believe, which went on about them MISSING a holiday to Bournemouth. They thought it was on a particular Sunday but it was the week before, apparently. Why no-one rang them up I don't know but it was on a coach and no-one had mobiles then of course.

There are some fragrances that I just can't wear. Anything Avon sets my sinus allergies off something fierce. Also several of the cheapies. I mainly wear Obsession and L'Air du Temps and that is about it. Your mom sounds like a real 'corker' as my grandmother would say. She comes out with some good stuff.
