I have sticky eyes problem, please help me. Yes I wear spectacles and earlier I used to wear contact lenses. But I felt problem with them of dry eyes. Now I got tired eyes all the time and feel like as someone could feel when windblown in eyes. I have seen the doctor also and they have given me some drops like artificial tears or gel but those put me in comfort state for short time. I have white material also in them when I get up or whenever I am sleepy. What are your suggestions?

I just had to go to the eye doctor for a similar problem. I ended up having to pay $70 copay for a 3.5g tube of antibiotic/cortisone ointment to use for 10 days. The doctor also recommended that every morning when I first get up to use a hot moist compress on my eyes with just a little dab of baby shampoo on it to gently clean the eye lids. He said I will need to do this forever. So far, the ointment has helped and I've started with the compress. You might want to try that.

Ha, the permanent solution is the compresses. It's going to be a lot cheaper than continuous visits to the eye doctor don't you think?

Yes i need to do all most the same thing. To moist my eyes with warm dampen cloth in the morning and use an ointment named as Genteal Gel. he also told me that i need to do this forever. I am very disappointed as there is no permanent solution for this. I am 30 years old only now.

The dry eyes is one of the side effects of contact lenses (see my article below). It will take time for the eyes to heal (if ever). http://healthmad.com/conditions-and-diseases/five-problems-with-contact-lenses/ As for eye discharge, I found the following article that might help. http://www.eyehealthweb.com/problems/eye-discharge.html I know of an eye doctor who discourages the use of eye drop since it might actually make things worst. However, if you need eye drops, artificial tears is probably closest to our natural tears to minimize the effect.

Sorry, meant Tears Naturale. However, in the matter of eyes, it is always better to seek medical help!! It is one of our most precious senses.

I wish you would have this problem straight out well... i can only suggest eyedrops to you and well since your doctor already has given you this.. then it should be quite well already.

First of all, you need another ophthalmological check up to see if you are wearing the right spectacles needed for full correction of your refractive error. Secondly, you need an anti-histaminic eye drop installation in addition to an artificial tear substitute. I think you might have chronic conjunctivitis.

Check with a doctor to see if you have a thyroid issue, sometimes that can cause dry eyes. i have it so I know what the cause of mine is. I do take a salve called Systane for night time use in my one eye. The other eye isn't as bad at all, thankfully. It gets so dry at night that it feels as if something is pulling at the lid, and is uncomfortable to sleep.

hey you are exactly facing what i went through. you must be wearng contacts for hours because my eyes went through the same thing if i wear contact for hours and sleep in them. Do one thing start using lense comfort everytime you wear lenses and reduce wearing lenses, and use artificial tears often daily your eyes will get ok. Besides put soaked cotton on your eyes you will feel better.

Wash your face by 'immersion' (sticking your face in a bowl or bucket of soapy water, making sure to wipe of any dirt you feel, then drying it off. Then--whenever you feel it in your eyes again--see if you can ignore it until it goes away.

You have to find out why you have these dry eyes. Might be possible your don't make enough "tears" anymore. I have periods like that too. At the moment I think my meds are causing them. Same with less saliva. So during these moments I drink more water (also at night usually I don't) plus I use contactlens-liquid against my dry eyes. Also at night. It works for me (and I know other people). The so called artificial tears and the gels don't work for me. My eyes even get infected by that terrible within 1-2 days.

I had just started to wear spectacles just just a week back. I had faced this same problem to my eyes. The tears used to come from my eyes especially when I travel or on other time. When I consult doctor he told me that on the first days you people feel the same and she asked me to take part in an eye check u after a month. I hope the doctor will give you the same instructions. Anyway I think it is better to consult your eyes to a good doctor.
