I do not know if I made this idea up or if it really exists.

I think I am going to dip potato chips in chocolate almond bark, or maybe vanilla as well. I was eating some Reeses miniatures and some potato chips at the same time. They taste good together. People dip pretzels, so why not chips. Maybe they sell them somewhere already, I do not know. What would you think of that kind of combination?

Odd combinations are here to stay. There are some who eat sweets along with the meal and not as a desert.

And people who eat dessert first. I have seen odd things at state fairs and the like, and this seemed good. I am reading a lot about salted caramel as well.

I found this odd combination in Chinese recipes - sweet and sour pork is a fine example. I love Chinese food.

That is very true. It is also healthier than my little snack.

HOPE they turn out well. Chips are so delicate i feel like they will be hard to dip. just saying, lol.

Rippled chips may work better. My son says Kettle chips would be the best.

Or they even have what is called the dipping chips. It makes it easier for you to dip and they won't break as easy.

I read chips even though you said chops. Yes, that makes sense. I have not tried the popcorn, though, but I would. That is also like the chocolate Chex mix in the bags.

SOme people like salt and sugar. I like the kettle corn(popcorn) and it is that way. I think I have seen chocolate on chips. I don't like them myself but the popcorn is good because it is just lightly salted. Not into heavy salted stuff. It makes me gag. I was very sensitive to it when i was pregnant and I still don't like it.

I have noticed that some of the store brand chips have less salt than the national brands and I like that better. I do not want a lot of salt on anything.

I like chocolate on just about anything so maybe a less salty chip would be the ticket.

I love salt and chocolate! You're certainly having some fun tonight! Those chips are gonna taste great I bet. I bought some chocolate covered caramels with sea salt from Trader Joe's and they were really good. And chocolate covered pretzels are great. About 5 years ago the vending machine guy put a new chocolate candy bar in the machine where I worked. It was sweet and salty. After they were all gone I could never remember the name of it and no matter how hard I looked for it I've never been able to find it anywhere. I don't remember what else it had in it. Maybe nuts or something. It was the greatest candy bar. I think I've seen chocolate covered chips some place but can't remember where. I was going to go to bed but now I have a craving for chips. And of course I don't have any. Oh, I almost forgot. Trader Joe's also has brownie bites made with sea salt. They're pretty good. I like the pretzels better, though. Well, I'll have to settle for a cup of tea and some coconut cookies for my midnight snack. Good night all.

Sounds interesting, my friend! I find when I eat some thing salty, I like to eat some thing sweet to counteract with the salt. I like to dip french fries in ice cream, I know it may sound bad, but actually it's not bad at all. (Now, I'm hungry)

Hatley does that too. I am not fond of french fries so that would not work for me. Speaking of fried things, have you ever had Pickle O's or fried pickle chips? Those are yummy.

My mom used to like to fry bananas if they were over ripe, always as a side with pork chops. A plantain is a banana that is made to cook with and it is more firm.

No, I haven't tried the pickle chips, but my husband tried frying pickles before on the grill, not too bad. I wouldn't want them on a daily basis though! He even tried frying bananas!

As far as I know, no one sells anything like this in a combination, but it does sound interesting. Have you had a chance to try it, and how was it? I am sure Chocolate is something you can about dip with anything if you really wanted too.

I actually enjoyed it just eating the two treats together. Some of the other people on here say that you can get it in gourmet candy stores, I just do not have any to try to look for it in. I think it would also taste good to crumble chips on top of chocolate fudge while it was still warm.

I was shocked, but chips dipped in chocolate appears to be popular! I did a search and even came up with this gourmet link: http://www.mantorvillefarms.com/ChocolatePotatoChips.html?gclid=CLXBpqvf3rICFQme4Aod9W4A0A (NOT A REFERRAL LINK!!!)
It sounds disgusting to me but my fiance Jim would probably love them! I do like chocolate covered pretzels, and I think I'm going to fry up some bacon to dip in chocolate-I've already dipped bacon in syrup.
Never tried chocolate almond bark-what is a similar taste? How do they come up with the name bark?

That is just one name for the dipping chocolate that you melt and make candies with. I am not sure why they call it bark. It has more cooking paraffin in it than the chocolate chips and stuff. You usually see chocolate, vanilla and butterscotch at Christmas time.

You can get a chocolate flavored one. It is great to melt it, and then throw crushed peppermint in it. It is also what they often dip pretzels in.

Oh, okay. I'm more familiar with peppermint bark, but I never tried it before. Maybe this year I'll be brave enough to try it-you did say it has chocolate in it, right?

I am not restricted on my salt intake, but I sure had puffy hands after eating corn chips with meals on Thursday and then on the road Friday eating the potato chips. I am drinking lots of water since Sunday and things look better.

Actually the vinegar and honey in water works really well. Cider vinegar is a decent source of potassium. As far as I know I have no problems of any kind.

Unless you have kidney problems, try to counterbalance with potasium foods. There are lower salt potato cbips, too.

You know, those typos slip in there all the time. Maybe more so at the end of the month. I really thought I had missed something, like "What are French fruits? Can I have some please? Are they only in California?

strawberry ice cream is good, if it is made with real strawberries. That artificial strawberry stuff is disgusting. Lots of good choices though, and I know a place that makes excellent strawberry ice cream.

You can actually find them in some gourmet candy shops. Or you can just do like you do and dip them in other chocolate. Though may I suggest something cheaper like chocolate frosting. If you like the salty/sweet flavors another good one is pretzel rods dipped in chocolate frosting! yummo!

Oh yes, Chocolate covered potato chips do exist and they are awesome. My mom used to work at a candy store and she used to buy me some on my birthday or other special occasions because I loved them so much. So yes they do exist, and you can find them usually in places that make and sell their own candies. Of course you could make your own with almond bark as well.

I'm always chasing a salty taste with a sweet one, or vice versa. And I thought I saw something like this already. I think it even came in one of those 'Pringle-type' canisters. I think we bought some at Target last Christmas.
I'm just hazy about it, because I think my kids beat me to it. I saw the canisters in the cupboard, but they were empty.

With Christmas coming up I will keep an eye out for them in the stores. I have to go out of town to go to a Target so it does not happen often.

I have actually done that already, dipping potato chips is not only tasty when you dip it in almond chocolate bark but also in just any similar kind of stuff. I even drink tea or coffee with potato chips, after all it is going down to the same destinations altogether.
