September is a very special month for me. We have our National Holiday, Spring starts and flowers bloom, the sun comes out and awakes me and I start preparing for the several family birthdays I have in October. Mylot will help some with the extras this month as I already reached cashout. I remember some months when I wonder up to the last minute whether I will cash out here or not. Mylot´s money can buy a nice present to Vicente, my eldest October grandson (he´ll be 8). The other 4 birthdays will be more problematic. My eldest granddaughter will be 22 years old and it´s difficult to buy something for that age. We´ll see! I also have my 11 year old grandson and my youngest daughter.
Do you have special occations in October? Tell us and share!

I don't care, and it shuts that annoying new roommate up when I pull my age on her. I get sooooOOOO tired of hearing how "old" she is. I flat told her that she was the youngest in the car - we were in the car at the time - so "shut the Hell UP!"
I don't normally throw swear words around, but it gets her attention when I do!

Hey! Let`s begin by September and then continue to the next month. It seems that you are in a hurry to have another year of age. I was just telling a friend today that I finally started not liking when someone asked me about my age.

October is the only month in the year for me when there are no birthdays, no holidays, no nothing to celebrate. I have to be very careful as October draws on because I am extremely aware that it is almost winter, my least favourite season.
The only thing that happens here in October is that, on the last Saturday, we put the clocks back an hour. That does mean that we could get an extra hours sleep but it also means that it will be dark by 5 p.m.
By the way, I waited puposely to be on the second page because I didn't want such a gloomy response to be on your first page
I shall look forward to your bright and sunny topics as the months go past hoping they will brighten up the dark days that we will be having in this part of the world

As the winter draws further on, when we get to December, regardless of the weather, it will be light around 8 a.m. Fortunately once we get to mid-January then the days start to lengthen at both ends. That is when I start to brighten up too
I am in Italy but last winter I was in UK and that is even worse. We had to put the light s on by 4 p.m. there. Very depressing as it was cold and damp too

Dark by 5 PM. OMG I had never seen such a climatic change in here. Just during rainy seasons it will be dark before a heavy rain. But not usually. It will get dark after 6:30 or after that.
Will it be a early sunrise?

We have a very special day on the 28th. It was the day our prime minister denied access to Italian and German troops in our country and actually got us to war.

Yes, we are taught about it in school. That's why it is so sad that some people have elected a Neonazi party in our parliament. They thought extremists are the solution in crisis.

Hi marguicha! September is also a special month for me. This is the start of ber month which means Christmas time is coming. My mother's birthday also happened on this month. Similarly, our training was officially ended on this month and this means that I can go back to my ordinary life again.
Have a nice day!

October is an exciting month for me. It is when I feel all the wonderful colors come out and can see all the pumpkin patches in full color. I actually enjoy October and consider it to be one of the better months of the yr.

I don't have any October occasions, but I realized last night that it would have been my dad's birthday if he were still alive. It is amazing how we remember such occasions after they are gone more so than when they were alive...at least for me it is. I find it hard to purchase presents for anyone since I never know what anyone wants or likes so I usually just give cash or gift cards and let them pick their own present. At least that way I know they can't complain that they didn't like what they got.

I don`t give presents to my older grandchildren anymore. I wouldn`t know what to give them. I used too give them some money until I discovered that they were wealthier than me But I can still get unexpensive yet fun games and toys for the little ones.

I know what you mean, alottodo! The first year I was a widow I was very worried because my granddaughter`s birthday was coming and everything was very expensive for me. She told me just that, that my presence was enough. It moved me to tears and I haven`t forgotten it.

September is a great month and I had my bunch of leaves at my work and I had a great time this month. I bought a new house near to my current one. Nice good things happened this month. October too I have a lot of holidays. 2nd of october is the birthday of our father of nation Mahatma Gandhi and it is a holiday in our country. So again some sort of pooja holidays were coming and much more. Rainy season starts this month. As mysD told we won't be affected by Daylight time. Expect more goof things to happen this month. Lovely discusssion indeed.

I guess this October 22 should be special for me, my oldest
child will be 44 this year..So thats something to celebrate
because a lot of people don't believe I have children that age..
The weather is changing as we speak...it's fall here as of
this month..I am not a favorite of fall or winter because I
don't like cool/cold weather...

Spring brings happiness for me. Spring starts and I feel happy all over. October is also a beautiful month. It is full of birthdays in my family. And where I live, October is the month when there are more flowers in bloom.

The 29th day of September is a special one for me. It was the day my last child was born. It was a home delivery and my husband was away in the Navy at the the and I was living in a new house on a new housing estate. I hardly knew my neighbour but the midwife called her in to be with me during the birth so that she could telephone the doctor if there was a problem. I was the only one who was not nervous. It was the midwife's first delivery on her own and she spilled orange juice all over me, my neighbour was horrified and just didn't look. The baby arrived without any problems and my little daughter in the next room slept through it all. Now I look back it was quite an experience but at the time I was very young and I took it all in my stride.

Yes Hatley. Chile is in the Southern hemisphere so seasons are different. But I think that California`s climate is very similar to the climate of the city I live. No snow, righht?
We have Halloween, absolutly imported from the US, just as mac Donalds and other such things. Kids dress up and come trick or treating. I behave like a true witch with the very young ones and make them earn theit candy by singing, dancing or simply scaring me

My little sister's birthday is on the 8th of October and I really don't know what I am going to do for her on her birthday (she is going to be 26 years old this year). Then on the 13th of this month, my son Paul is going to be six years old. I've already got part of his birthday present, but I have to finish with that and I also have to quickly plan a birthday party for him. He wants to go to Chuck E Cheese, but I am really just not sure about that. I'm thinking about getting some pizza and inviting his friends to one of the local parks.

I see you have your share of Libras in your life, friend. It`s a wonderful sign. My husband was a Libra and he was a very wise man. Happy birthday for your very own Paul.

Hiya margi,
That is a lot of Parties for you to go to especially in October and so close to Christmas as well.
I like the name Vicente by the way.
October well biggest part of it belongs to the sign of Libra which I am as well not going to say what day lets say everyone in Spain celebrates it and in other South American Countries too.
Happy partying to you margi and Happy Birthday to them all.xxx

Almost all of my family are Libras. The rest are Geminis. I wonder how is it that so many of us were born under the same sign. I can say the Gemini and Libra are extremelly compatible, judgung from my marriage.
