I never liked how a woman looks with tattoos. I feel like a woman should be feminine and it would totally look weird if she appeared at a cocktail for example with an elegant dress and a tattoo on her arm. It's a matter of tastes I know...and I don't like it. I feel like it would only make her look masculine

There are tattoos that are done in good taste, the ones which are really artistic and meaningful. But personally speaking, I don't like tattoos for both men and women (although I admit my husband have tattoos lol!) Nothing's worse than having tattoos of quotes or sayings and there are a lot of misspelled words. I have seen this many times.

LOL I have seen them too. How embarrassing it must be for that person to walk about with bad grammar on their body?

I think that tattoos can be a personal thing or something a person can express their emotions..I feel that there are lots of different ways to show your emotions..Maybe it's a conversation starter? Sometimes, women asked men about their tattoos because maybe it gives men that certain image..
I would never get a tattoo because I'm afraid of needles so even to see one is even impossible for me to even think of getting tattoos..I feel that tattoos should be hidden by clothes if you do decide to look elegant for an event..Sometimes it can be distracting if it is too big or if it covers a quarter of a woman's arm or chest..
A tattoo (like a flower) on the small of the back is most common place for younger women.

I don't like tatoos either, make us woman look rude, and even if it has a special design or meaning, I still won't go for it, I know now tatoos are hot item in USA and around the world, I have seen in tv.

I don't like tattoos at all, whether it is a male or a female person who is the one that is getting it. One of the things that you have to remember is that once you've got a tattoo, there is no way that you can get rid of it without having to go through major surgery to be able to get rid of it. This means that you have to be absolutely sure that you like the design that you're getting; not just now but also in the future as you would have the same design when your body gets old as well. If it is something like the name of a child then that is different, but most tattoos are horrible in my opinion.

Like you have said, it is a matter of taste. Some women have tattoos and still looks feminine. It is a matter of how one would carry the tattoo that they have.

Hi swissheart! although having tattoo is a kind of art for some, personally, I don't like to have one. I think someone's body is not the proper place to express their artistic abilities especially that this thing is permanent.

Hey thanks for posting this discussion over here. i too agree to your point on this matter that a tattoo looks more or less good on a male than on female. It is not that tattoos are made only for male community but the elegance and grace of a woman is lost if she flashes a tattoo on her body and that makes her look out of shots than other non-tattoo ladies.
What say?

I have several tattoos that can be covered with clothing if need be. I have a bracelet flower on my wrist, I have a unicorn on the right side of my chest, I have a cross on my right shoulder blade and my latest tattoos are on the front of my calves of theatrical masks with the saying "Smile now, cry later". All have very special meaning and none of them are masculine. If a woman is covered from head to toe with tattoos or tattoos of trucks or "manly" things then that can be tacky.
