With the increase in the gas price today I wonder how do u guys save on car fuel (gas) costs? Are there any ways/tricks you could use to increase your car mpg (mile per gallon) significantly? Or do you use other methods? Thanks

Hi. You can post this discussion in Car section. You might not get good response here. You can post it here too, as there is no restriction, but for the sake of getting responses you can post there. Cheers.

Thanks for the input. How do I move this discussion into car section? should I re-write it or is there any feature where I could just move the whole thing?

There are a few things that can be done to a car to increase the gas mileage. First one that is easy and anyone can do is to make sure that your tires air pressure is at the recommended factory pressure. This is typically found on a white sticker with black lettering in the drive side door. Open your door and look at the sticker. It should say something about the recommend PSI "Pounds of pressure Per Square Inch (PSI)". This and making sure you change your oil and oil filter on a regular basis are the two main ways to save money and increase your miles per gallon. Enjoy the money you will save by doing this :)

It is a shame that there are so many price rises with fuel at the moment, because it is one of the things that everyone needs in order to get around in their day to day life. I try to avoid using my car if there is any way that I can do so, because I have worked out that not only do I save fuel but I also get fitter by walking to places instead. I have to go to the supermarket once per week to get my food, and I have started stocking up more so that I don't have to go every single week. If you have to drive to work, then it might be worth you seeing if there is anyone else in the area who you could share the journey with so that the two of you didn't have to drive to your job every day.
