I've read that salt should be used and also white vinegar. Will it really work?

As far as I know never put anyclothes in white vinegar because that way they loose color and also theirt texture. They became so bad they get torn very fast.Just wash them in regular water and washing powder and dont put them for wash after every year.Wear them then air them and can use them 3 to 4 times and then wash.Ofcourse if they are soiled then to wash them properly.Keep 3 pairs and have a good collection.Have fun wearing them.

That's a good idea.
When I wash I do add baking soda if there are heavy stains on any of them but that doesn't always get the stains out it just helps soften them.
