One Saturday evening, my common friends decided to spend time having movie marathons. We are 5 in total, designating the tasks for the said film viewing. Some are preparing snacks, bought beers from the booze shop, rearranged the living room sets and so forth. At long last, all of us gathered and watched the movies. Initially, love stories were the first played in the dvd player. Then the last set, horror movies targeting for the midnight last full show for us. One of our friend, stood up and refuses to watch the horror films. She claimed, it will attracts evil spirits. The rest of us were obstund with the imposition. A bit weird thing to know from her presence, of course she's our dear friend. We respected her calling, in respect to her beliefs. So we decided to skip the movies and we continued chatting until midnight. Then friends set off from home. Before sleeping doze sets in, I was still puzzled of her notions about horror films. Is it true that watching those scary films, the possibility of attracting evil spirits?

No watching a movie isn't going to attract evil spirits if that was true I would have a lot of them coming to see me because I love watching horror movies. Every now and then I'll hear or see something out of the corner of my eye but it doesn't happen after I've seen a scary movie or anything. Its at radome times night and day. Yeah spirits can see what you are doing but they don't pick just because your watching something they are going to come. We have spirits all around us all of the time and some people are just more senstive then others.

Your welcome. Hearing or seeing things are normally spirits can't say if they are good or bad ones.

I don't think it watching horror movies late at night can attract evil spirits. I guess people are just made to believe that way as they associate the spirits to be appearing by midnight, as seen on movies. I love watching horror movies any time of the day and night, and have not seen anything.

No, you only attract evil spirits if you worship the devil and accept his indoctrination. Watching movies like scary movie or horror movies will not change a bit of the fact. They probably will create nightmare for you, not attract evil spirit to you or your house. Some of them can serve as lesson for you to realize there is evil in this world and keep you on your toes.

If you get scared, you have accepted that devil is powerful..and in a situation where help is not coming at the speed you would want, chances of surrendering increase..in any event, those movies are more scary because of music and background sounds. Without them, you could watch those things and not find them as scary..

Fear is one emotion that needs to be kept out of life. Because fear prompts pre-emptive action. Some situations can seem De ja vu, and that can make the person panic and react in some way that brings in more problems. While I agree that if there is god, then there is evil, I do feel that watching the evil stuff, without seeing it being completely vanquished at the end of the story will leave mind in fear. I know many such movies are made to create faith in people, but it certainly is a wrong way to create faith. I do feel watching too many violence movies does make people a bit cut and dry - slightly removed from human emotions. People take violence more easily in their lives and might even do it as a game. So yes, I would object to movies on evil primarily because it could trigger fear and panic in different situations, and conseuqences would be disasterous, and also because such movies do bring about subtle change in personality and thinking.

No, it is not possible. That is totally off the hook thinking. Believe me. I have watched many horror movies and nothing ever happened. She is just afraid of those movies. Thats why she said what she said. She just could not sit through the movie. They are movies, they are not real. And as a matter of fact, there is no such thing as ghosts or evil spirits. That is all for the TV and the movies. It is all made up stuff. I think it is made to make people think and wonder. Its all bull. So tell your friend that nothing can happen to her if she watches a horror movie.

Well, you can't force her to watch horror movies. If she is afraid thats it. But to think that evil spirits will come from watching them is laughable.

I agree, we need to watch plainly for an entertainment. It is not the other way around of enchanting evils to come near. Thanks

Not at all. That is a ridiculous notion. Either your friend has some form of paranoia or she has been told that movies invoke evil spirits and she is gullible enough to believe that. How can they do such a thing? I think people who think that are ignorant or mentally disturbed.

Well of course I do not believe that but I think she is saying that this may influence you is some ways the movie is being told. But of course you can stop and choose not to be of course. Well I do not see anything bad watching those films for as long as you can tolerate the movie in your own free will.

I'm sure that when you watch something that has an evil undertow that somethings might be awakened that were possibly dormant. I know that some music that talks about evil and hating God can induce some evil spirits because why would you be listening to it in the first place.

[b]Depends on the film! It can be dangerous to one's mind & soul, even if that isn't obvious at the time. Best to avoid all media in which evil is GLORIFIED. If one realizes upon viewing that the film, or music--whatever medium--feels sympathy for an evil character, or blasphemes God, or glamorizes evil deeds, then one should leave it immediately. Conversely, good media are those which brings out wholesome feelings, respects God & His loving rules, & shows evil events for what they truly are--& that they can be defeated, then by all means, if one can afford it, then one should see/hear/read it! [b]Sorry--I goofed. The section which reads:"...good media are those which brings out wholesome feelings, respects God & His loving rules, & shows evil events...). I should have said "those which bring (not bringS) out...") and, similarly, the phrases "...respect God..." and show evil events..." I inadvertently treated "media" as if it is a singular term. It is not. "Media" is the plural of the singular term, "medium." There is one correct use of "medium" as a plural, & that is when one speaks of a medium, & then it is pluralized with an S--mediumS, the term modern folk apply to "mind readers," or, earlier, as "witches." No, i don't believe that watching any type movie attracts evil spirits of any kind. This is silly. SOme people have some pretty weird ideas. I would know next time that she won't watch these movies and perhaps not invite her or have some other type of movies to watch.

If God is not in your life, I suppose it could be possible. But if God is in your life, Satan can not harm you.

Maybe your friend means negative, or scary thoughts and not necessarily evil spirits. I don't particularly like scary films either and I can understand her sentiments! I also dislike violent films, as I consider that a good comedy is much better to watch!

Hello my friend Shavkat Ji, Well, I think it is all one's weakness and nothing else, one may walk through whole night through Jungle without knowing anything, but once one is warned about some problems, one start imagining and thinking, I know you should ask each and everybody, how everyone felt whole night, and I am sure you will get 50% people with weak heart and tehy could not sleep properly. May God bless You and have a great time

I do believe that there are some things that we can do in our lives that will attract evil spirits. However, I don't think that watching horror movies would be something that we could do that would attract evil. The reason that I believe this to be the case is because of the fact that scary movies are just a DVD, tape or whatever and there is really nothing about it that the evil spirits could have attached themselves to.
