Have you ever traveled at a busy time of the year?

Earlier this year I took the Easter holidays plus two week of term time to make a months long trip to South America. I traveled with my disabled son and my daughter. My son had a large buggy lent to us from a hospital as he had a broken leg. He usually is in a wheelchair that is very hard to fold up. That buggy was easy to fold and I was able to put some luggage on to it. I found the long distance train journeys booked out in Argentina. The long distance coaches each time only had a few seats left. We booked a hotel in Rio for the Easter weekend and arrived there in the morning. To my upset the hotel had given our room to someone else. I asked the manager to ring around to find another hotel that had space. He did so and then we paid even more for a taxi over there. We got a twin room and so I placed to two beds together to fit the three of us. To my upset the long distance coaches were fully booked for days. We were going to miss our international flight so I had to pay for a flight and then a bus from there. Luckily we got back to Argentina's capital city before our homeward flight day. Have you ever traveled at Easter time or another busy time of the year? If so did you find transport booked out? Did you find it easy to handle your luggage on that trip?

Well thank u for sharing the experience of your trip. Yes usually here in India, u will find most of the year busy and abuzz with people all around. We had a trip during October-November and believe me since it was holiday time, we had to book our tickets 5 months before and when we reached that place all the hotels were booked and thankfully we managed to find a room and we had a good stay. usually since it is crowded during these months, we take extra care of our luggage as there is always a probability of our baggage getting robbed. What say?

Oh, my. That is why I rarely travel during busy times of the year. I hate those kinds of scenarios. Besides, our airlines offer seat sales for off peak months. And those are the deals that my friends and I buy. It's stressful going where the crowd is.

Well, I prefer to travel places during times which are not very busy. This way, we do not face issues in accommodation at least. However, we once had to book flights to a place with not much time to go, and hence had to pay a bit higher.

I went to London in August when they had the Olympics, and I have never seen the city as busy as it was back then. It was very challenging, but we made sure that we had left everywhere in good time so that we wouldn't miss anything that we'd had planned. It was a lovely weekend and I am glad that we were well prepared because there were a lot of people who missed a fair amount of the action thanks to public transport being stretched and the roads being very busy so there was no way that you could really drive anywhere like you usually would have done.

I have actually taken a cross country flight late on Christmas Eve! Myself and my now ex-husband were going to spend Christmas with his parents, and the only flight we could get was one that left our city at 4pm, and landed at our destination at just after midnight on Christmas Day. Our luggage was easy enough to handle, and we had no problems getting it at our destination airport, but the airport was insanely busy, even at that hour of the morning. We didn't have to bother with transport either, because my husband's dad came down to pick us up from the airport, which saved us a lot of money and a lot of hassle. In saying that though, as much as the trip was pretty smooth sailing and straightforward, I wouldn't like to make the journey again. Christmas eve is probably the busiest day of the entire year to travel, and it was certainly busy when we flew.

Yes , some times I did it. In my country, the most busy time is in religion day and in new year. That most busy time for each agency travel and transportation department. I have make plan far away before I go at busy time because I know that very difficult for us if we go without perfect plan at that time

Most people travel when its busy because holidays are the best time to see everybody. I've traveled during the busy times and things seem to move at a pretty fast pace. I know that some people like to travel in the off season so they don't have to be bothered by crowds but I don't mind. You've got to get there one way or the other.

This week is a small vacation in our country to celebrate the National Day , we call it the Golden Week which is really a peak travel period. You can only see a mountain of the crowd if you go to travel. So I would never travel in this time.
