Every parent aspire so much for their own children, the basic needs, including a good education. There are some unaccepted down falls in the family. The global crises are so worldwide affecting the middle class family, especially the lower class. The incidences of layoffs from different companies are too high in its prevalence. What if, the head of the family was terminated from work; it will be a great setback for him to provide the needs of his family. The only thing he can think of is to take the risk of gambling the savings left in his bank account. The first attempt turned out to be fine, winning a lot of cash to start a small scale of business. Not knowingly of what had happened, the family lived prosperously from its initiative to break through the shortcomings of life. If you were in the same situation, are you willing to risk your precious money through gambling? There is no guarantee of the possibilities, either to win or to lose the money?

No, I would not risk my savings and gamble it. I would hope I could find some work before the money was gone. I don't feel lucky enough to gamble all my saving. That would be too scarey and I would feel really bad if I lost it. It is too much of a responsible to gamble.

And it is smart to only gamble when we can afford to lose.

Never! You cannot bet your money and win it, you can't even gamble for a better future. I think the lottery was created to exploit the poor. Think about it, who buys lotto tickets, poor people, sure its fun to try and win but you always hear people say, "If I could just win the lottery". Well, the odds are that you won't because everybody else wants to win too. Create something, build something, that is how you secure a future or legacy to your children. Gambling is fun, they show that on TV but for some people they ride their whole lives on winning it all.

It answered the principle, a win-lose situation, not the other way around. Thanks

Gambling is never a good thing. These kinds of last resort risks are hard to decide. If you are a head of the family, never try to do this. It's better to start or use whatever is left wisely and talk to the other members of the family so they'll understand why you all have to tighten your belts for awhile.

You might as well flush your money down to toilet if you choose gambling as a way to increase your wealth.

I would not gamble to get money. Even if I won, it would be at the expense of someone else who needed the money. It is also a game of chance and we have to work for our money even if it means digging ditches or telemarketing, delivering papers, or writing when there is little chance of anyone seeing your page. I would suggest he talk to a money making consultant to see how he can improve his situation without having to sell his house.

The man in your example was lucky, but I can't say that I would do the same. Like you said, gambling is a risk; and casinos are rigged so that the "house" wins more often than the people coming into it. If I had savings, at least I would have that amount to survive on until I could find better; but if I were to spend it on gambling and lose it, then I have either less that what I started with, or nothing at all depending on how much I try. So I say it would be better to spend the savings wisely, while looking for other sources of income. Yes there is a chance that I could win if I gamble with the money, but there is a bigger chance that I would lose.

Though I know that there are a lot of people that will bank their opportunities in life on a wish and a prayer, that isn't something that I would ever be able to do. This isn't because of the fact that I wouldn't love to win a lot of money though something like that. Instead, it is because of the fact that I think that the money that we have worked hard to have was too hard earned to really take the chance of losing in something that is literally a game of chance.

Gambling is a big temptation. I think many people gamble a little bit. But it is dangerous to gamble the family money. We are close to gambling on our leader in times of global crisis. Hopefully, the sun won't act up as predicted which would really throw us into a crisis. It is sad that adults have to try things like gambling to help the family's situation. This is where religion comes in as being most important. Having a religious outlook should keep people from doing unwise things like habitual gambling or robbing and stealing just to survive.

I wouldn't dare to risk my hard earned precious money to gambling! I would rather roll it into a business like the one that we are into now (business). Or if given an extra money, I would just save it. Yeah, there are cases where you might win in gambling but there are more money coming out that in.

Gambling is not any mean of living its a recreation of the millionaires. Rather I would save every cents of my parents income left behind or get involved in a small bussiness to drag my least survival.

I agree that parents are responsible for the welfare of their and they always tend to take care of things. It is true that today economy is such that some people have to take some beating. when it come to the finance. The best thing we have to do is look for more avenues to make a supplement income till the things get better. garbling your saving is not the first priority one should have but if it pays back to start a own business I think why not. The questions is the sustainability of the business. If it runs smooth it good, at the same have to run it so that you get good profit. What if the person look for a alternative to provide for your family, There is always Goverment bodies and programs that gives you grants and skills so that you can transit your self employments programs, You some time think of a good skill you have and turn that skill to self employment or you can provide your expert knowledge as a consultant. which does not cost that much of a capital. There are lot of ways to earn from new technology such as internet, communication. so why gamble money when you can invest it in a new skill and look for the means to get a good income. When the times are hard I think we should look for the many ways to make things better and it always do. being a adult is facing and accepting that fact.
