Confused about the importance of MONEY

October 6, 2012 12:30pm CST
Well, I'm confused about something... something that involves money. Does money really important? Can you be happy when you don't have money? As what I have observed, People can't be happy if there is no money because it is the reason why two or more people fight or argue... Some will say that Money can't by happiness... how can you be happy if you don't have money to buy stuffs that you like or buy something for your loved ones? Our lives really involve money.... My point here is that... is it bad to think about money all the times? like... for example... when you are in a relationship.. and you're partner doesn't have enough money... You are turn off because he/she doesn't have money... he/she can't make you happy...he/she can't even go to the restaurant to have a proper date or something...

I agree that money cannot buy happiness. You don't need to be rich, but you need to have it. The reason that a lot of couples fight about money is because of the stress that it causes, not the financial issue necessarily. Buying things that you like or something for a loved one is not something that you NEED. But you need money to live, to pay your rent, buy food, and clothes and shoes and put gas in your car, heat your house, etc. It is very stressful when money is tight because you worry about if you can pay your bills or not. If couples are fighting about money because they can't buy a new game or a new outfit that they don't need, then that just shows their immaturity. Bottom line, money IS important. You do NEED it. It would be nice to have a lot of money and live as comfortably as you want to, but that's not always possible. My husband and I don't have a ton of extra money, but we pay our bills, make sure that the kids have birthday presents and nice clothes and try to take them places that they will enjoy and we are very happily married. Sometimes it's more important to some than others, but it the saying is true: "Money makes the world go 'round".

Money serves a purpose and is essential in order to purchase food, clothing and a home in which to live. With a little extra we are able to buy a few luxuries and take holidays etcetera. Nevertheless, despite the need for a certain amount of money, it is certainly overvalued in the modern world. People are constantly obsessed with acquiring as much money as possible, sometimes to the extent that they will not even take to time to enjoy some of the benefits that it offers.

Money on the other hand is very important specially if your the one paying for all the bills including foods and other stuff, you cant go out to work or go to school or in other places without money for the fare unless your willing to walk for how many hours in a day. And yes money is also one of the thing to consider if your looking for a relationship like what if the guy will become my husband what he can do for his family, did his income will be enough to support his family needs and of course there must be love between the two of you, though i can say i can also support and give my share to him if ever. Now i know we can't buy happiness but sad to say that we cant be happy without money too. Some marriage got divorced because of money problem and there will be no problem if they have money at all. Girls rather choose to love someone with enough income as they also think of having good life with that guy unless the girl is already have enough income on her own. In short, money now a days is already important in all aspect even when it comes to relationship.

No, money can't buy happiness, but you need 'enough'...enough to feel secure, to survive, it be active. Lack of money does cause unhappiness if there is not enough to live a decent life.

Don't confuse yourself with money and its connection with happiness. Money becomes essential because we need it to buy our necessities. But it does not mean that we rely our happiness in it. Remember the best things in life are free. That is love, acceptance, commitment and other values that can only be found in ourselves. We will have money if we work for it.

Don't worry, I think it's normal for us girls to ask these things from our guy. We wanted to be treated by them like their queen and that includes fascinating dates. But if their financial status can't afford it, we have to accept it unless we are loving them with conditions. You can inspire him to have a goal and strive to improve his current status. From the looks of it, you need to teach your guy financial responsibility. You can encourage him to save.

Acceptance.... that's my problem... i think I can't accept my partner having no money... We can't go out to dinner or just having a world trip or something.. Am I selfish? I don't like to be like this.. i hate being like this... All I want is have a normal date. I don't want I always pay the bills when we're going out... and sometimes he borrow money from me to pay his rent...but I love him.... :(

Money is also the root of all evil. Have you ever heard of that before? It's the reason for robberies, arguements and other wrong doings. Anybody can be happy if they weren't rich IF they have an open mind and learn how to communicate with their loved one in how to make a dollar stretch further than they would normally. One will not die because they don't have clothes that match but they will if they don't have food to eat however, they can grow their own food by having a garden and learn how to can their goods to make the dollar stretch. It's all a matter of learning how to do things differently when broke. Believe me, I've been there and know. It's all about the attitude of the person.

Haven't heard about the root of evil but thinking the way you defined it, I can tell that you do have a lot of experiences about it. :) Communications can really work things out. But attitude is hard to deal with... hmmmm

Money matters is really such a big question. Yes, I definitely agree that money can't buy happiness but we need money for survival. We can't have what we need and what we want if we have no money. Love when inserted in a relationship is such a big matters.

As far as I know, don't be ruled under the spell of money. Be the one controlling it. Have a great day!

Well basically, we all need money. We use money to buy foods and other basic things that we need in order to survive. It's good to think about money and have financial goals. But make sure that you are using proper ways to earn money. And the question also here is that when you have a lot of money, will it make you a better person? Will you be more generous and kind?
