Worst dog fight :(

I have three dogs and it's been a while after the last dog fight. I was busy with my younger dog outside the pen when suddenly I heard my oldest dog yelping. Spirit was frantically trying to get out. Schuyler caught Spirit on its ear and gnashing her teeth on her. There was blood and I was so worried. Schuyler even dragged Spirit a few feet while biting her on its ear.
My father and I did our best to free Spirit but Schuyler was so strong and was very determined on what she is doing. We throw water on them but to no avail.
I saw Spirit's eye and is telling me to do something. I thought she would die. Fortunately Schuyler let her go. I grabbed Schuyler and let her stay on one corner while Spirit is being held by my father.
I checked Spirit's body and was so sad to see that there were deep lacerations that need to be sewn. she's a mess.
Thank God she's doing fine now.
What should we do during a dog fight?

Dogs characteristics is one of these. they are really a hunter in the wild. All animals fought each other whenever they feel they are abused. Usually dogs fight for food, for territorial, and if they are male they usually fight for the females, jealousy to the owner. Now, I think the best thing to do is to set them apart.

Hi!
Yes, I've been doing things to make them comfortable as much as they could. I had set them apart. I think my dogs fought for food and of jealousy. Since schuyler is so fat I let her eat less that Spirit did. poor me:(

I don't know how much space you have where the dogs are, but my sisters two dogs would get into fights if they are allowed to be together, and water didn't work for them either.
But one night they got in a fight while my mom and I were at my sisters house, and my mom got my sister's rake and, with the "spikes" UP facing the sky, she slammed it between the two dogs. They seperated instantly. Not sure if it would work if it was one dog attacking another, and not two dogs fighting each other.

At first reading your story, I was about to suggest water but then you already mentioned it.
We also have three dogs, a german shepherd (Sam) and 2 labradors (Bob and Marley).
Sam is the oldest and of course the biggest. But the male lab, Bob, is so naughty and hot-headed. Bob is the reason why I got an injury on my finger that in two weeks is not yet healed.
When they fight, we only pour water on them using the water hose. It's quite effective. But if ever it won't work, we don't know what else to do. That is so frightening especially when the dogs are big.
Good thing your Spirit was now okay. Hope her lacerations will heal fast.
I think you need to check on Schuyler's behavior because he has already bitten a dog. And also Spirit because she has been bitten. They said it's bad. Maybe because of the poison or rabies that they have.

hi there!
Yes, that is so true, water really is all we thought the only way but unfortunately, my dogs does not mind having it splash on their faces :(

The hose pipe is the only thing that seems to work once dogs start to fight. If you watch The Dog Whisperer with Cesar Milan you will see that he always recommends walking dogs together that fight. It helps to bond them but of course you have to be the strong one in the middle. Perhaps you could get a friend to take one while you take the other and try this for short periods of time.
My two biggest dogs have fought when left to themselves, we separated them and then introduced them slowly on leads and eventually one submitted to the other. Now they play together and run together without problems. You will need a fair amount of courage to do this and even more patience, but it is worth it to prevent them hurting one another.
