My friend had a writing task about traditional culture which reminded me of the preservation of it.
Now, almost all of us are aware that it is significant to protect traditional cultures, but how many of you have considered why we should do that?
Indeed, I believe that a nation should retain its unique charecters if it wants to stand erect the nations of the world. Besides that, we can also learn from history. For example, we can tell right from wrong and obtain some common vitues. Therefore, we should do our utmost to protect our traditional culture. What do you think about?

I agree with you, I learn most things from my parents my country government and non-profit organization preserved some of our culture . Most of my country culture is being lost we are becoming so Americanize , I do like and welcome change but sometimes I hear my grand parents talk about "the good old days" , I wish I could experience a little of it, prepare food like they used to play some of the game they play .
My country like most of the Caribbean has a mixture of culture because people come from all over and settle here, most of their own culture were lost not by choice . We long forget the people that make a difference in our life .
I also like what you say preserving our history can help us to tell wrong from right and accepting our unique qualities.

Indeed, I love my country's traditional culture very much. However, many young people just think highly of other countries and believe that our own culture is rotten. Therefore, less persons pay attention to traditional culture. It is sad that government also does not pay much attention to protect traditional culture. I hope that everything will go smoothly one day.

An Indian friend of mine was sharing a tradition that he grew up with that fascinated me. He said that young people touch the feet of older people as a mark of respect.
In my culture there is very little respect for older people, the young people know everything because they are clever with computers and we older people are a little confused with them. There is no respect for people growing old and I think part of it is that young people want to grow up, they do not want to grow old.
Recently i saw a couple of boys walking behind an old lady who was hobbling a little. They were imitating her and laughing. I told them that they would be like that one day and not to be so rude.
A tradition that I remember, now lost, is that men used to toouch their hats when they met a woman they knew. I remember my father used always to do this. My brother has never copied him but he has never worn a hat!

Yes, I do believe that showing our respect to elder persons is a very important part of traditional virtue. From my point of view, elder persons are wiser than youngsters because they have much more experiece. Also, I think if we young persons want to inherit our traditional culture, we should do our utmost to protect it instead of speaking without action.

Articles and stories about culture is always very interesting. With many different nationalities around the world, it is so impressive to see the essence of different cultures and cultural backgrounds.

Hello! Each nation or each country has its own cultures. In my own opinion, it should be preserved. With the now generation -- computers, internet, cultures and traditions are forgotten. Young ones maybe don't know about it.
Preserving it should be done and maybe our countries should be doing that. Something like a reminder maybe so that it will not be forgotten. If we know our past, we will know somethings that is happening with our present and future decisions.

I agree with you. Now, I can tell that many youngsters almost forget their responsibility to protect their traditional cultures. So do I. Sometimes, I always think if the rotten culture disappears from our history, our life may be better. Indeed, I totally forget that only when we have realized that importance of our traditional cultures, no matter it is good or bad, can our society be better than ever before.

Hey thanks a ton for such a beautiful discussion. I think your friend has got a wonderful topic and i completely support all your views. u should ask your friend to write about the culture, heritage and tradition in general, then write about how it flourished with time and how it is now being neglected by the people and lastly the measures to preserve it.
Indeed we should be proud of our culture and heritage and should always be ready to safeguard it so that they are preserved by us so that they are also transferred to all the generations to come.
What say?

Yes, you are exactly right. When we are prond of our traditional culture, we will be willing to protect it from being insulted. Indeed, if we regard our own traditional culture as rotten and decayed one, it is almost impossible for our nation to stand on the world. So we should to do our utmost to protect our traditional culture.:)

Hi,
You are right. We should try to preserve our traditional culture. But we should not follow our culture blindly. The change should be made as per the modernization of the world.
