Hello Lotters, this is why a lot of OFW's now in the middle east doesn't want anymore pinays to work there. because they are mostly prone to abuse. i thought this lady died but it's a good thing she survived. the traffic enforcer took advantage of her when he found out that her working ID had expired. really sad, she had to encounter this, good thing she was rescued and now recovering in the hospital. So many Filipinas that are suffering out there.

It really saddens me to see our fellowmen being treated as something that is lesser than humans. Inspite of those sacrifices they gave, still, they still suffer. Their job is so risky to begin with, for they have limited support from the government, its our embassy in that foreign land that serves as a medium for communication to cling on, for them to be protected. Good thing we have those good samaritans there. Hope the government should give more attention on the growing number of abuses and maltreatments abroad and should do the appropriate action. Thanks.

Hello mikyung, We have limited support from the Government because some staff, higher officers, and even legislators our corrupt. these are the kind of reality that most people would avoid now a days. they have given attention to them but there's just way too many Overseas Filipino workers that not every one is given help

It's really embarrassing to hear such tragic story of our countrymen who have done nothing but to look for a greener pastures in a foreign land. Hope she is okay and that she can forget what happened to her.

Hello Aabuda, This is not the first time It happened, sometimes i don't even wanna hear it because I know there's nothing I can do. the truth is that i don't think she can forget something like that. I don't think she can ever go back there after the suffering she has gone through. i feel sad about her though really.

this is why the government is pushing a male DH or male Household workers because most female household workers are being abused. I think only Italy is accepting a male household workers. Good thing the Pinay did not die. Hope our government will find a way in protecting OFWs.

Hello Mrsuniega, that's not gonna change everything, even some male OFW's are prone to rape. I remember one time that a guy was raped by at least two to three arabians and he never knew who they are, i think he didn't inform the authorities. the only way to protect them is NOT to send them in the first place. i think there should be a initiative from us to.

That's horrible. Rape is such a barbaric act. I can only pray that ALL countries come up with stiffer punishments and laws for rapists. It is never OK. I know that there are countries, especially in the Middle East, where women do not have the same rights as men, but that doesn't mean that they should be raped and sodomized and mistreated because they are women. They may not have some of the same right, but they are no less human. Horrible! =(

Hello Ms.Controversy, I think they are doing this because OFW's there are strangers and they can't do this on muslim women because of their strict law. this isn't the first time something like this has happened, this will happen to every woman who are abused by any who don't follow the rules. so sad indeed. Have a nice day.

There are many people like that traffic enforcer anywhere in the world. It is just too bad that Filipino OFW's, being in another territory, are more vulnerable. Some are even afraid to fight because they do not know if the said country's justice system will be fair. I once met a Filipina who was abused by his employer. She worked in an Arab country and she was locked inside the house. They slapped her and curse her and do not feed her properly. It is a good thing she was able to escape and go home.

Yes, i can't even count how many cases of abuses and killing happens in the Middle East.. it is really a small chance for our countrymen to survive there.. and the worse thing is, if they do defend themselves they are imprisoned..

That's why let us try to make more entrepreneurs so that there will be fewer OFWs and many can get sustainable income right inside our country.

If only our country can create jobs for Filipinos then we won't have to work in a foreign land. That's what should our government work on so that we don't have to go away from our families and risks our lives working for foreigners who discriminates us and thinks that they can do anything to us just because we are living and working in their land.
