Well, it is something our entire family is always looking forward to because the celebrations are usually grand. It is another reunion thing as well, as most of my relatives will be coming over and then we'll have some time talking and doing fun stuff for a while. My grandmother, my father's mom, just live beside our house with my aunt and whenever there's celebration there, it's expanded to our house as well, so right now, we have to make our house extra clean and presentable for visitors. Oh, now that's going to take a lot of work, and the heavy rain is just not helping it. Anyway, we are all looking forward to this more because she is about to reach 100, and I really hope she does, and every year just feels more blessed.

That is something to reach that age. Happy birthday from my side. I hope she lives more many years. My granny is over 90 but i don not the exact age. She is very old and wrinkled but she is doing good for her age. I am sure your granny is somewhat like my granny. I hope the rain stops and you can do the cleaning for tomorrow. Thanks for sharing and have a wonderful day ahead.

In behalf of my family, thank you! The weather here now is really funny, rain stops and pours hard abruptly. It was hot and then it turned cold all of a sudden. Oh well.

Wow. That's great. An advance happy birthday to your grandma. It's so nice to hear such kind of stories. I hope you and your grandma will enjoy the party that will happen tomorrow. I know that she's happy of what she achieved. How I wish I could also celebrate my 98th year in the future. But, who knows right? Enjoy the party. I think your grandma is really healthy to stay that long. Live long grandma. :)

Thanks! She is not in perfect health but I am just happy as well that she has lived this long and hopefully so much longer. I, too, wished I could reach this far and long in life. I mean, I'd love to see how the world would turn out 70 years from now and would love to see how my children-to-be and grandchildren-to-be would be.

That is wonderful that she is celebrating her 98th birthday today. I would love to live a long time like that and see all my grandchildren and great grandchildren. I hope that she is healthy in her old age and will live to be 100 or longer. I hope the celebration for her is wonderful.

It went well and the food was great. I am happy this day turned out great for her and all of us despite the heavy rain that preceded the celebration. Maybe the rain was a symbol of show blessing, as many would also believe.

She does have a lot of stories told and yet to tell. If it was up to me, I'd definitely invite you, but as of now I have no say in it. I am just a part of the eating committee.

Not really for us, though because I am sure there will be a lot of strangers around. It is normal. My relatives would bring or invite friends with them, but I'm not the type to do such thing unless I paid for it. I mean, of course nobody would mind, but sometimes I just feel that the meaning of the celebration gets lost. Of course it should be joyous and all, but more importantly, shouldn't it be with and about family and close relatives? Well, that's just me thinking.

That is wonderful! You'll have to have her share her secret of longevity with us! My grandparents were the center of our family. They seemed to be the glue that held everyone together. They are certainly a gift.

There's really no secret there, just super healthy lifestyle and a lot of prayers, which is really rare to people nowadays. Yes, you are correct as my grandmother now is the glue that holds our family and relatives together.

Wow! I am amazed at them. I really think that this has something to do with their lifestyle before, mainly the food the eat. Today, everything is just filled with preservatives and all sorts of unhealthiness, add to it modern day stress and fatigue plus the lack of daily exercise due to staying so long sitting while watching TV or surfing the internet. Oh how I wish it would be easy to try living a good and healthy lifestyle.

Thank you! Some people are very much attached to their grandparents, like you, I believe, but I am not. I do regular visits but I have always been the shy and independent type. Anyway, it's a good thing, to love someone so much.

wow, 98 years?! That's great! I wish she will live longer. My grandmom is just 71 and she is starting to feel a couple of ailments in her body, I just hope she can last as long as your grand mother.

With extra care, especially in diet and exercise, plus prayers and faith, I'm sure she will.

I, too wonder if I ever get to be that old in my life. I sure wish I could, but I highly doubt that. With the unhealthy lifestyle I am living today, I would be very lucky to reach 80. I can't say it's a miracle, I just know that she deserves this long life and more happiness as well.

Everybody seems to be busy here today, preparing for the dinner party later. I am just not as enthusiastic though. I just feel that it would be like last time, there was awkwardness and all that. I just hope that it would not be the case. I am still looking forward to a good family reunion though. Thanks for the greetings!
