Do you browse internet at work?

I don't have any full time job yet, but indeed my internet campus can only be accessed through proxy :D. And yes, they do block some "counterproductive" sites such as Facebook :D I know how to bypassed it though, so occasionally I am being able to access those restricted sites :p

Thanks for your information. I never knew of such sites known as proxy sites. Now I know how people can access such sites that are blocked in your socity or country. By the way are you a computer professional or just a normal employee.

i work for myself, I am completely self employed, so if I want to browze the internet at work, I will do exactly that. LOL What am I going to do, fire myself for browzing the internet at work? LOL

I am guilty of this also , I also used a code to get to blocked site . my employer do not monitor my internet activity since we need it but they dont like you really doing personal stuff especially when you have things to do . I always clear all my cache and history and I used another browser for my personal use .

I did this from my previous work, basically I am allowed to do it. My kind of job is to use my email account and to search on the web sites needed for the program we are implementing. Good day!

I'm always browsing the internet at work..No boss monitoring any movements and even spy if internet is overused. I browse and that would make me happy!

I don't usually use the Internet while working unless I need to search some information for my teaching. In each office, we have the Internet connection. Some teachers use the Internet all day while they stay in the office, playing games or doing some other things, which is discovered by the school leaders and the work disciplines are frequently stressed. They say that they will block some sites that are usually used, but I don't see it blocked...

Yes, he blocked Facebook and yahoomail. He's becoming strict nowadays so I am no longer browsing any site. I'm glad I have my phone in signing in to myLot, Facebook, yahoomail, etc. Happy mylotting.

I admit I am one of this employee who browse the internet in the office. But one thing is that I am only allowed on it because its part of my job. I always have to do some researching and online check updates. Although I have an internet access, it is a limited one. We cannot access sites with pertaining to games, jobs, proxy, or any adults related sites. I am glad, I can browse mylot here in the office so during my break-time, I always make sure to add some discussion and reply on each topic of some members.

This had happened in my brothers office.there facebook is not allowed. As they were software employers they used to do some tricks and open facebook and used to chat with me some times.

Hey thanks a ton for posting this discussion. Well i think there is no issue using internet while at work unless and until they are instructed to be used. There are many people who sit idle at office and prefer browsing different sites and that is OK but while at work, one should always focus on finishing off their work and then can go for browsing. I think using proxy sites could be dangerous and might put your job at danger if detected. What say?

Yes, they discourage browsing the internet only during peak time. But if we do not have any projects to do, we can browse the web except for youtube.

I'm still studying but I always see my teachers use the internet freely in their office.They could search for datas or just watch movies to relax themselves.My english teacher always watches english-language movies or goes through English websites to learn English.My science teacher search for answers when he can't explain a question.They all browse internet freely and leaders never focus on how teachers use the internet.Maybe this job is quite different from your job.

I only browse the net at LunchTime. And some sites are restricted like social networking sites. But I have my tweetdeck on my desktop so that's all I do at Lunch. No Browsing when I'm working. I browse in my break times.

I am one of the people who always has to browse the internet at work, because I work online and work from home. Because of this it means that I don't have to hide the things that I look at because there is nobody going to stop me from looking at the things that I want to, however sometimes when I do this it means that I get distracted from the work that I am supposed to be doing and I then have to work a lot later to get the work finished that I should have done during the day. But I think that working from home is for the best in the long term.

internet at my work was blocked because the workers used to be on the net and did less work. I was not one of them because i have net at home, Many workers did not have at home so they just wasted time at work. Thanks for sharing and have a wonderful day ahead.
