Have you ever ask yourself about these? For all the years you have lived here on earth do you find the real "You"? or Why you're here for? any purpose?
My dad once ask this to "us" (his children) because there is this instances and family problem that he just ask us of Who we are? Instead of giving us preaches and advices he just ask us why not take time to ponder/ contemplate the question of "WHO AM I?
How about you guys have you ever take a break and ask for yourself "WHO AM I?"

I am glad that myLotter ofzhernandez brought out this question. In my opinion, this is a great question because this is the beginning of your search for knowledge and I agree with you. For me, this the best answer. We are the children of god, sparks of God (I am an electrician :) I prefer to say it this way. Some may say we are from God. In any case, whatever we prefer to say it, we are somehow a parts and parcel of God. And God is perfect. So most likely we desire to become perfect, just like Him. But not everybody could come close to this answer, don't worry. Because you ask this great question, you are not a loser. Because upon pondering to a such question, you will still finally arrive to the next question; that is what is our goal in life and you will still arrive to the same answer; to become happy. But a little different than yours, eternal happiness.
As you can see, some said they don't already want to know the right answer, but still they found out the answer to the next question in life. and that is to become happy, because, God is full of bliss so we desire to become like him, to become full of bliss. And how we are gonna do that? Because God is perfect, we must desire to become perfect as well. Just be what you are. If you are a mother, be a good mother. That is your perfection. If you are a daughter, be a good daughter. That is your perfection. If you are a friend, be a good friend. That is your perfection. If you are a sister, be a good sister. That is your perfection. And you will be full of bliss, just like The Father, God. But don't fight, fighting is for soldier. Fighting is the work of a soldier, that is their perfection not ours.
Happy myLotting

The question is quite pertinent. Most of us would prefer to know who exactly are you.But quite surprisingly none of us would be able to realize or recognize the real "I" in everyone. The only comforting solution would be...I am born here as I am, so I am here as I am. I am in fact just one of those humans born into this earth ..with a mission to complete. That's all perhaps to it.

I do agree with you sukumar, I think that the word "who Am I" is spontaneous in nature. Meaning in word we hardly describe who really Am I but in our daily living we are doing what really is our purpose in life. We as people put here on earth to do what is being laid to us by God. And for that nobody can dictate to us for what life we should be because we are all born differently with different purpose of life and we are the sole driver to our own life so that the mission being given to us will meet.

I think that it is very important that you think about who you are from time to time, because this means that you are able to live your life in the correct way a lot more. One of the things that you should do is list all of your roles in life and think about which of them is the most important at the time. For example my role as a daughter to my parents is the one that I am concentrating the most on at the moment, but at other times I should probably be thinking of myself more as a friend to those who are close to me.

I gave up asking myself that question only because I want to be at peace with me. I want to enjoy the life and not try to find out who I am anymore. Though there were days when I would keep trying to find a valid answer... but at end, you would realize that there is no answer to that question... and you had been chasing a mirage

yes I have ask myself that question several times and most of the time that query enlightens me specially if I have problems. I don't brood on my problems that much anymore and instead just go on and try to find ways to solve my problems because oftentimes "who am I" leads to answers that helps me in my dilemmas.

I usually ask this when I am making big decisions such as a career shift. It is sort of a guidance for me to know that I am going the right path.

How old are you? If you ask this question at my age, it's a little late.
but I must say, this is a very smart question before you do any job.

I am now 32. Why it is too late to ask that? how old are you?
I think there's no age to this question as long as you are still living we are still in search of who really you are.
What makes you live? up to this age?

I am a little older than you.
Maybe you can think searching of who really you are is a whole-life job.
But I have to say, the earlier you find who really you are, the less time you waste in life.
I can't stop changing job until I finally find who really I am.
How about you? What makes you live? still like your job? have any dreams?

I live because of my two beautiful children. They are the reason why till now I have to struggle for life. As of now I don't have any regular job other than online job. My husband is the one making a living for us. But since life is getting harder now a days I am planning of having some extra income so I am planning to make some loans to start one. ^_^.
Dreams? I have lots of these in mind. But for now I want to dream the most realistic one. To have a small business.
Happy Mylotting!

I've had this question to myself a few years back when I was thinking about what I want to become. I've failed several time in my life, but these failures made me realize who I really am. What I really what in my life. It's just about listening to ourselves and discovering our calling in life. Now, I can say that I'm already confident with what I want.

Indeed, I have ever ask myself this question. An then, I get my own answer. I believe that I am here because of the nature. It tells me that we can experince a life that can created totally by my own, no matter it is perfect or poor. And all that I can do are to treasure my family and friends, pursue my dreams and make up for my regrets.
