How do you relax in your spare time?

One of the most important things about being able to enjoy your life is about being able to relax when we have the time to do so, and I know that a lot of people do this in different ways. One of the main things that I like doing is reading a book because I like to be able to escape to a different world when the one that I am in seems to be getting too stressful for me.
Another thing that I like is to go for a walk away from all of the technology so that nobody can get in touch with me at any point. I feel a lot better after doing this.
How do you like to relax at the end of a hard day, or if you have a whole day off to yourself?

I usually relax myself through sleeping and watching movies during my spare time. :)

Sleeping is definitely the best way to relax if you're lucky enough to be able to find the time to do that. I have a lot of things that I have to be doing during the course of each day and this means that I only have small amounts of time in between each thing to be able to relax so I never get the chance to go to sleep during the day. But I know that I certainly make the most of this at night time and make sure that I have a full night's sleep to ensure that I am ready for everything that the next day will be bringing.

We are the same.
Watching movies can help us be apart from our own lives and just sync ourselves in the movie. Sometimes we are too focus that we even get emotionally touch with those movies.
But, I should say, sleeping is the best remedy to relax ourselves from all our hard work.
Happy Mylotting!

There are lot of different ways to relax for me. Some time,
i jog, atleast 1 hour is enough for me to refresh an feel relaxed. After jogging it really feels good to sleep. Sleeping is the best way to relax and get enough energy that we need. Watching TV is also my way of relaxing as well as surfing the net. Those are some of my ways to get out of the daily stressful day at work.

I am very jealous of you if you are able to jog for an hour. I am trying to get fitter at the moment, but I have never been able to jog for anywhere near that long without getting out of breath. I am working on it though and I am hoping that it is something that I will be able to do soon. I am also hoping that I will be able to buy myself a treadmill as this means that I will be able to practice my running in the comfort of my own home when the weather isn't nice enough for me to be able to go outside and practice.

I go to my local sports center twice a week for a dancing class which is very much fun like a party. Also there I go into a warm, bubbly, relaxing jacuzzi. Its bubbles relax me wonderfully during a ten to fifteen minute session. I wish I could afford to buy my own jacuzzi for my home. I love to walk in the countryside and along the coastal routes. I adore traveling to tropical islands with palm fringed beaches. I find it delightfully relaxing to visit a paradise like island in the tropics. I feel relaxed browsing on the Internet and planning future trips to different countries.

It is great that you go to your sports centre, because exercise can release endorphins into the blood stream which make you feel happy and therefore relaxed. If you do the sport and then go in the pool then this is even better as it means that your muscles probably won't ache the day after your class, as that is something that might bring you down a little bit. Walking is such an easy way to relax and I think that more people should think about doing it because they don't have to pay for it and they don't have to go far from their home in order to do so.

My main forms of relaxation are reading or playing around on the computer or listening to music. Sometimes I also just like to sit still and quiet, not doing anything, and listening to the sounds of nature. Sleeping is good too :-)

I am one of those people who just aren't all that good at sitting quietly with nothing to do. I am sure that I was able to do this when I was younger, but for some reason I am just not able to do it any more. I always have to be able to check my phone and I find that stressful enough as it is. I am very pleased that you are able to relax in that way though and in a way I am jealous of you because I would love to be able to get rid of all of my thoughts and just sit there without actually having to do anything at all.

reading, watching tv, searching the net, joining mylot discussions and sometimes just by watching people and the 'going ons' outside of my house. My waking hours as a stay at home mom is almost consumed by various home routines nevertheless i don't consider these as tasks but a productive way to let time pass hence i also felt relaxed and not so stressed out.

I expect that being a stay at home Mum is something that is very stressful and means that you don't get all that much time to be able to relax on your own. Therefore you should make sure that you're making the most of the time that you do get on your own as this would mean that you could enjoy it more. Searching the internet is a good way to switch off, and I certainly know that whenever I come on this website I am able to talk to people who like some of the same things as me which means that I can have some very good discussions.

At the end of a busy day I like to soak in a warm tub by candlelight. I put something into the water to make it smell good, I light three or four candles and I turn off the light. Bliss. There are no distractions because I cannot see anything. The whole delightful experience is brought to an end by a rubbing down with a nice warm towel. After that I will go to bed with a good book to read until I am tired enough to fall asleep.

Nothing can relax you more than being able to take a bath, and I think that adding candles to it is even better because it means that you don't have to have the light on so you can relax and your mind can switch off a little bit. We have had to get rid of our bath recently because it was leaking and now we only have a shower. It is a shame because I miss being able to relax in the bath, but I can always relax when I am at my partner's house because he has a bath so at least I don't have to be without one all of the time.

If I have the day to myself I won't relax for the full time either. One of the things that I like doing when I am alone is making sure that I do a lot of work because I am able to concentrate better when there is nobody else at home. I also try to get a lot of my housework done as well which is something that I cannot do if there are a lot of people around the house because they just get in my way. But at the same time I don't think that there is anything wrong with having some time to yourself maybe in the afternoon and watch a film with a cup of tea or something like that.

Well, I know that if money was not an issue, the thing that I would like to be able to do in order to relax is to go and get a massage. An hour and a half long massage would be the best for me, but money is an issue and that is just not something that we are able to afford. So, instead, I choose to relax in our bathtub with a good book when I have the time to do something to relax myself. I also like to watch some mindless television when I need to relax as well.

This is a very good way to relax, and I know that whenever I get a massage I forget about everything that is worrying me at the time. However, you don't always have to pay for this if you don't want to. You could go round to a friend's house and give each other a massage for free. My partner always gives me a massage when I am feeling stressed, and he will massage my back and feet for hours if I need him to. But I suppose that not everybody is as lucky as I am to have him, as it is something that I am really grateful for.

I am planning on going for a walk this evening, because it is something that I quite enjoy doing. It is only worth it if it is a nice day, because I don't like going for walks when it is raining. I will always take my iPhone and put on some relaxing music and I often find that I am able to walk for hours on end without even getting tired. This is something that I like to do for a number of reasons. The first reason is that it helps me to calm down, and the second is that it is good exercise and I am trying to lose weight at the moment so it is good for all of those reasons.

I think that there is a lot to be said for people who enjoy their lives in a relaxed way. I look at the type of people who spend their time running about doing lots of things, and I wonder why they bother. When I die, I just want to be able to say that I enjoyed my life and raised my children to the best of my ability and taught them how to live their lives. I would consider myself a success if I did this, so this is what I am going to concentrate on rather than thinking about what I can do to set myself apart from others.

I agree with your second way to relax myself. When I am free, I would like to walk along the street on my own.I love to walk alone because I can keep in silent and lost in thought. Also, I like to listen to the music and have a sightseeing. Having a sightseeing make me happy.

It is better to walk on our own than with other people sometimes, because it means that you can think about everything that is on your mind without having to tell other people about it. I hate it when I am thinking about then somebody asks me what I am thinking about. I don't like telling them because I just don't think that it is any of their business. So I usually put some relaxing music on and go for a walk on my own because this gives me the chance to think about everything that I need to without being interrupted.

i'll read magazines, mangas or novels.Sometimes when I'm at home I may stare at the ceiling and jump trying to reach it or i'll do a handstand(it seems strange though I would feel fresh and cool after it)Most of my spare time in school I draw pictures. And if I have the piano I'll play it for some time.

I subscribe to a girl's magazine and that arrives once per month. I will read a couple of pages of it per day and it usually lasts me for the whole of the month which is great and means that it is great value for money. I also have a piano and I like to play it and sing as well. I am not as good as some of my friends, but I don't think that it matters because I am still able to have a good time and nobody else has to listen to me so it doesn't matter how good I sound at all. I wish that I could draw but that isn't something that I have ever been able to do.

I like to go for a walk to relax as well especially walk in the garden because I can enjoy the beautiful flowers and clean air. And I think listening to music is also a good way. The light music can make you feel comfortable and relaxed. Sometimes I like to do it while reading. Well, although I always choose to sleep after finishing my busy work, it is said sleep too much is unhealthy.

It is good that you have a garden that you can relax in so easily, because it means that you don't have to go very far from your home to be able to relax if you feel the need to do so. I also agree that music can really help you to relax as well, because one of the amazing things about music is that you're able to influence your mood with whatever type you wish to listen to at the time. If you listen to slow music then you're able to relax yourself if you want to, or if you need to feel motivated you can listen to a more upbeat track.

I got into quite a lot of trouble when I was younger because I would always eat food when I was feeling stressed, and because of this I became very overweight. I do agree that eating is a great way to be able to relax, however you should try to find some foods that are quite good for you as they would make you feel a lot better and healthier in the long term. I like to eat a fruit salad now instead of chocolate because I just know that it is good for my body, whereas chocolate isn't as good for you and wouldn't make you particularly healthy.

Hi GemmaR, after a hard day work I like to go for an evening walk somewhere around the neighborhood. It's so comfortable and relaxed with my old loose t-shirt and pants roaming freely. The air would be cold and fresh if it's after heavy rain and I like it. Certainly it would relax and refreshen me
I don't get myself busy after dealing with the laundry after dinner. It's my golden moment to amuse myself watching comedy sitting in front of the led Happy laughter would relax us totally.
Happy posting

I live in a really nice part of the countryside, and this means that there are always places that we can go that would mean that we are able to relax. It is nice when the weather is good, and the favourite times to walk outside are early in the mornings in the summer and later on in the evenings when the weather is a little bit cooler. It is not as easy to be able to find a time to go out when it is cold in the winter, but we can get the occasional bright day which means that we are able to go out for an hour or so when it is not too bad.

Each day after i enter my office, i do my first thing:browsing Internet to view news and check my emails. I think it's a good habit to make me relaxing and keep up with each day. If my work is not really busy, i'll spend time to chat with my friends or colleagues online. The topic of chatting is not about work but many things like football, movie, game and so on. When i get home, i have to cook for my family and hang out with my daughter. So till 9 pm, i can really relax since all things have been done. Then i usually watching TV and listening music. At weekend, i always like to watch movie in cinema or watch a football game. But my wife and my daughter like shopping. Sometimes i will accompany with them. But i really dislike shopping. During this time, i usually watch novels by my smart phone.

It is a good thing to do to be able to start the day by being relaxed. I think that checking the news is a good thing to do first thing in the morning, as this means that you are able to do a task to begin the day that isn't too stressful, and it also means that you're up to speed with everything that has happened in the previous day. Things like television and music are good to stop us from stressing, as it allows us to escape from the world that is stressing us and just take the time to think about another type of life for a while.

By sleeping......that's the best way for me to relax and just cope up with my lack of sleep. I tend to have lack of sleep these days now that I need to wake up early for my early shift at work. And I just hate this insomnia of mine.
But, with my offs..I really wanted to be productive...for least...and don't like to sleep so I will just use my time watching some movies and dramas that I've downloaded or watch some videos on youtube.
Maybe, I should just use my spare time next time mylotting like I usually do many years ago...
Happy Mylotting!

Sleeping is a brilliant way to relax, as long as you are able to get away from your stress and be able to get to sleep. If people struggle for sleep then they should try doing something before they go to bed such as read a book or take a bath, as this means that their mind is able to start calming down after the day that they have had which may have included stress. People should try not to use the internet for at least an hour before they go to bed as it means that they will be able to switch off and go to sleep a lot more easily.

When I am inside the office, and my day isn't really busy, I open mylot and join in the discussions. It relaxes me at some point because my mind leads me somewhere out of my work. Or sometimes, I do visit some officemates during coffee break and have a little chat with them...
But after work, when I get home, I spend my time playing with my babies. Then have dinner... then put them to sleep.
If I have the whole day, I always wished to have a long restful sleep. But I can't have it when I'm at home because my 2yr old will always wake me up telling me "Mommy wake up, it's already morning!" (pointing the sun through window) So sometimes, I'll just spend my time alone window shopping. Strolling at the mall makes my mind and body refreshed.

It is good that you are able to play with your children because, even though I am sure that it is not the most relaxing thing in the world, it can also be the best because we love them that much. It is good that you are allowed to use the internet while you are at work, because this has been something that I have never been able to do when I have worked in an office or anything like that. I love spending time talking to people on here because it feels like I have been able to make friends even though I have never actually met anybody from on here.

It is great for people just to be on their own at some times, because I think that one of the main problems in the modern world is that we are in contact of people all of the time and that means that we just don't have the chance to relax on our own. Sports are good for a number of reasons. Firstly the exercise is brilliant, and secondly it means that we are able to work as a team with other people and this can be good for us. The sense of achievement when we have learned how to play a sport is wonderful and something that we should be very proud of.

Puzzles are something that I enjoy to do as well, but I haven't had the chance to go anywhere that I can buy a new one for a long time so I haven't been able to do any. I have a large dining room table that I am able to set up the puzzles on until I am finished, so I can just spend a few minutes on it every time I am free and then it will be completed over the course of a couple of weeks. I think that more people should do things like this, as it is good for the brain to be able to concentrate on something like a puzzle.
