Hello Lotters, As some of my friends in mylot are aware that I've been sleeping late recently, that's because of what burglar incident that happened in some house of a reporter lately. but not just that, others houses as well that supposedly protected by guards. the guards..who are supposedly roaming the subdivision to protect it's settlers! It seems that the only way that can protect your house is really to have some one stay at night, put grill doors, or have lights on at night. most effectively if you can't have any of those, put a Dog on both sides. my Brother's Dog doesn't have chains so she can move all around. however, last night some one tries to bug in the house where they second settled in when they went here in cavite. luckily, my brother was smart and kept the lock from any ones reach if ever some one dares to destroy the window glasses. Holidays are coming, I know it's a time of giving and sharing, but mind you to all filipinos, it's burglar or snatching any kind of crime month for the crooks. they will take advantage the moment you try to be nice and giving. sad reality but it's true, up to you how to be more careful. Now, Bakery's establishments are being robbed aggressively based on the news...

hi LK, A months ago when I forgot to locked our gate since no one is at home the whole day the culprit got the chance went up to my room and saw my wallet on my bed which I confidently leave there every time cause we don't have anyone at home took my 7,000 pesos (175 dollars). My dogs did not bark cause if they do obviously mom will hear them cause she is just at our shop which is at the back of the house. So we are suspected it was inside job my dogs knows the culprit as they did not bark on him/her. Well it's just money they can't take it but they will repay for it later more than the price they get. So we always locked the gate as we leave our house even just buying some stuff at the near store. happy mylotting

Hello Bhabycatch013, Looks like not every one in your friends list are real friends. some one in the circle only wanted to befriend you so that they can steal something in your house when they get the chance. this is why i don't want to be friends with people who think can be friends with you but has a secret agenda

let's just be thankful that nobody was hurt. it's just money. although it's important but not as important as life. it can still be earned when lost. but life... it's a totally different thing to lose one. be safe always bro and sis!

Yeah looke like burglars are roaming around the streets these days. I really think one should always be on the lookout if you cannot afford those CCTV installed in your property. Although it cannot protect you property totally but they can help you identify at least what happened. There are many security devices like alarms and everything.

Hello Rsa101, I still can't believe that for some reason they are not scared of doing the bad things because they think they can't afford not to be afraid. they can be identified but the problem is actually looking for them, some can really hide so well.

We should be vigilant these days. There are many robbers, holduppers, snatchers and the like who forcibly get other people's properties. There are even times when they kill people just to get what they want. Let us all be extra careful.

Hello Dorisday1971, This is why I didn't really want to go outside the house because of the dangers that lurks out there. i don't think they care about other lives or morality when they have made this decision. the only concern is that going to do what they need to do and get away from it. be careful out there. have a nice day.

Hi, Timely post here. Just a few hours ago, at two in the morning local time, Cagayan de Oro City got hit by a bomb in front of Maxandrea Hotel killing two bystanders and wounding two responding police officers. Maybe it was intended to explode inside the Hotel where delegates of the Cooperative Summit sponsored by the Cooperative Development Authority of Region 10 but due to the vigilance of the guards, the culprits managed only to leave the plastic bag containing the bomb outside. If they plan to hit my house, they would have to spend some time locating it first, then planting the bomb there, that is, if I don't hit them first with my cal .357 pistol I keep under my pillow every night.

these days... crimes can happen anytime and anywhere with anyone and everyone. we just have to be careful... and tighten security if it comes to that. i have my business at home. and so far in 3 years that i have my business, nothing untoward has ever happened. we don't have a guard in place, but we try to have someone to stay at home whenever we have to go out or be out of town or out of the country for several days to a few weeks. i think it's a good thing that our house is just a couple of blocks away from the city hall where the city police station is. we also have the city police patrolling at night as well as our barangay patrol. that is an added security. be safe always bro. tc

Hello myles, lucky for me as well that we have a police, fire dept, and city hall in close to one block only. we have a town hall guys and police patrol every night that monitors the situation. we have no choice but to have a police station because the rising of beggars and crazy people in the neighborhood. we are actually an open highway so any thing can come and go through. well, be safe and well too.

It is happening here too. Since moving to my new house I've heard of few break-ins in the neighborhood. One house was emptied of its contents including an expensive car while the owner was away on holiday. Since this area is burglar prone we now have policemen petroling this housing estate at night. Bit it didn't prove effective as just last week another house was broken in. Even with iron grills the thieves can still find their way in. I am quite scared as am staying alone at the moment. I only hope my six dogs can deter the thieves from entering my compound.

Hello Zandi, Are Filipinos still mostly involved in those robbing and burglars there? embarassing really if they dominate the crook population there in malaysia. I wonder, were there people inside the house when they broke the grills? because destroying grills takes time. WOW! I surely would want to have two dogs, one at the back since we have one at the front already

It is horrible that we live in a world where we have to be so careful about security, but sadly this is just something that we have to cope with. The most important thing that you need to do is to put your mind at rest by taking every precaution that you can. An alarm is something that is essential as it at least means that if somebody did break into your house they would be scared away as some alarms link straight through to the police. You should do everything that you can to protect your home, and hopefully it means that you will be able to have a good night's sleep soon.

Hello Gemmar, I don't know how much cost will it take to simply buy a burglar alarm but it would be much of help if you do purchase it. but what I want is a steel grills because I myself was able to enter the house even though the screen door was in the way of getting in. Well, it's only in the US i think where alarm can trigger an alert to authorities.

I saw the news just this morning about the bakery robbery. It's a pity that according to the lady who also owns the store, that there are other people outside just simply watching them while she was shouting for help. In my opinion, if there are 3 or more persons there, they could have gotten themselves rods , stones or whatever and mob the robber. That way, the robber would be overpowered. But thank God, the robber was caught. Sadly, the lady was traumatized.

Hello Simplyd, there's a lot of desperate people out there who wants money out of everything and doesn't care what they hurt. the lady will learn from this and do her best to be treated that way. maybe i should notify teh bakery that is 24/7 here. well, the best thign about this is that the lady is alive and not killed

Well, I have to say that my parents have a good sense in building rails over the doors and windows of the house. I thought that it was just a waste of money at first but I think you really have to be careful these days. Also, I think I am becoming a light sleeper these days due to the numerous crimes in our neighbourhood (by the way of grape vine, of course. We have three dogs and the latest one is barker. We might get another one but I'mnotsure. Anyway, dogs (all but one) are very vigilant and I am very grateful for that. I just hope nothing will really happen. That will be nightmare that I don't want to have.

Hello Jeanneyvonne, Don't buy things that you really didn't to and don't display jewelry when it's really not needed. having three dogs is cool already so i think it's ok. having dogs is a bright idea because it can really help the household in terms of protecting your home. i surely hope they only recognize family members.

Not a good news... Nowadays, no one is really safe. Don't know if this is because of poverty or just laziness to people that they have to do this break in someone's house and steal whatever they can take. There were nights before too that I cannot sleep at night especially when I hear some sounds. It is better to be watchful and make those bad people feel there's someone at home so they'd be scared to get in the house.

Hello enelym, It's hard to say but it's not safe here anymore with so many squatters increasing every single day. I have notice them lately around 2009 or something. except last night that i had no choice but to sleep and avoid sleeping too much late it could cost for my health. I've been thinking of getting our doors installed with steel grills.

Robbery all around the metropolis, even in my province there's a lot of cases of that kind. You are right, we need to be more vigilant, lets help each other protect our properties. That's why I'm not too showy on things, like having thick wallet, cellphones, jewelries, etc. when I'm commuting. Like being mindful at all times, walking with a companion, not to walk on dark places. It really pays to be prepared but sometimes those perpetrators are not avoidable. In oour home, attaching double locks, with alarms, for now I can't afford a CCTV, but I'm saving for that. Hope the government can do something concrete on those increasing number of cases. Thanks

Hello mikyung, I don't know about the provinces, but if the province had some good local economy then there's a chance it would prey on the criminals. Yeah it's actually not that much be able in buying a CCTV. hope we can be more vigilant story from now on. having double locks is another good thing offer protection. you can use a webcam which is obviously far more cheaper.

I Have personally experience that, the place where we rented has two doors meaning we can get out on both sides that ends with gates in each door because the house is located in between two streets. Burglar/s tried to destroy the doorknob of the first door thinking that it can be opened once destroyed, luckily I have double locked it inside while my family passes through the second door. I have to change the doorknob when we came home. After a month we went out again the whole member of my family. I did the same thing but this time we went out through the first door and double locked the second door. The burglar/s this time attacked the second door (thinking perhaps that they should try the other door because they have already tried the first one but to no avail. Lo and Behold! when we came home the doorknob of my second door was already in the ground but the door is still close and nothing was lost. I have seen that news bout the bakeries that were being robbed and was caught in the CCTV, one was even shot and killed. It was disheartening to note that some bystanders prefers to just look and watch while that woman was brutally hit by a bottle and was fighting for her dear life. Those people who just stood and watch while the crime was committed are GUILTY BY ACT OF OMISSION, that is failing to act what should be rightfully and properly done.
