I was busy working and there is a hedset on my ear when the song "Hard to say I'm Sorry" of Boyzone played. One line in the song says that " Even Love Needs a Holiday." how do you get to interpret this line? is this for people who are loveless? is this for people who just came a break up? or this is for people who is on the process of moving on and acceptance? For me, I interpret this as for people who just came from break up.sometimes they need to rest with love until they get totally move on with the previous relationship. what is your point of view on this topic? let me know your thoughts

When I think of that line I kind of think of the people as still in a relationship but just needing time away from each other. It doesn't have to mean breaking up or going a long time separated. I just think it means that with love, you need to take time to do something yourself and let your partner do the same. Things can get tense if you're always together and never do anything with friends or other people. Even though you love each other it's still important to have a night with friends every once in a while. Doing that doesn't mean you don't enjoy being with the other person or not love them.

okay, that is a great idea.you have a point on that.even though you are in a relationship, sometimes you have to let your partner enjoy him/herself without your presence and mingle with his/her friends. i can still remember my previous relationship, i always want to be with my partner and everytime that she mingles with other people, I easily get jeoulos. we quarreled about that and our relationship has ended. I learned a lesson from thaat scenario and the next time i involve myself, i already know what to do. thanks for sharing!

I don't know the context of the rest of the song, but I can tell you what I interpret this line to mean being in a long term devoted relationship.
For me, I have a hard time being with my husband every minute of every day. I think of the time that we are apart, be it at work, out with friends or whatever to be our holiday from each other.
I see that couples that spend time apart regularly are generally happier couples.

I agree with you.couples that spend time apart regularly are generally happier couples. they feel that they are not in jail.they have the freedom on all the things that they wanted to do. but still should know the limitation so it won't affect the relationship.this gives the couple a chance to miss other and when they see each other, you can really see the passion of love.

Having a relationship is like having a full time job. All needs holiday specially if you felt tired about it. If a person think that he cannot handle anymore the situation and he wanted to file a vacation or a sick leave, he can do it like what they did on their regular job.
That lines remind me after few days of break up and wanted to move on.

Nice one julyteen that you were able to compare a relationship to a full time job. sometimes you have to relax or to unwine so you will not be deppress. you will not feel bored.

This was a song originally written by Chicago, I think the line was, "Even lovers needs a holiday, far away from each other".
Personally I think that maybe a breather but not a total holiday. Some time to be with self, not because you are feedup (or maybe) but more on giving the relationship a refresher. One can get some perspective on some other things of interest. I don't mean that you have to be involve with somebody (that's a different story). It is more of looking life as a whole. Maybe go out with right friends, or do something of a hobby.

going out of town with friends or family is also a perfect idea,on this song.that's one way on how you get to realize the importance of one person to your life. so when you see each other again, you can feel the passion of love.that is how it works for me.

On the contrary,I don't think this line is for people who just came from break up,in my opinion,I think this line can be interpret that love will miss gradually little by little when time goes by,so when lover go apart for some days then they will miss each other more so that it can keep their love fresh in this way.

I see your point of view. we really need a space when we are in a relationship.let your partner do his/ her thing. let him/ her do what makes him/her happy.

For me "Even Love Needs a Holiday" also implies to status of in a relationship. Just like what I am experiencing right now with my current partner there are times that whenever there are things that we can't fixed a fight with just one or two days we both know that we just needed a break or that's what I call holiday. Holiday to be apart from one another. There are time that we don't know how to discuss things immediately to fix the problem so we need space to think of what really matters and why we can't understand each other.
It is like a holiday from work right? Employees needs holidays for them to relax, pause, enjoy things that has nothing to do with work no due dates no boss etc. and after a day or two you have to go back to work with a more stress free mood and relax feeling.
Sometimes we needs HOLIDAY...
Happy Mylotting! ^_^

Fight is already common in a relationship. that makes the relationship more stronger. I also agree that in that point love needs a holiday. you have to be apart for a while to breath freely or to have a space.from their, you would realized the worth of that person. you will miss him/her. if we are already in this scenario, we have to enjoy ourself first. let's go without with our friends. do things that makes us happy.

Well, I think your take on it is the only one that makes sense. I've seen relationships of folks who go from relationship to relationship and it never seems to pan out.

Yeah I guess that is what is meant by the song. It is not right that you immeidately jump into a new relationship after a breakup. One must learn to start moving on loving oneself first before finding a new love. That is the perfect time to love again.

It is not easy to involve yourself in a relationship if you came from a break up. Sometimes it would take like months or even years for you to recover from heartaches. I really find it hard to adjust on my last relationship but I tried my best to accept the fact that she's gone that we have to separate ways and look for our true happiness. I believe that both us already moved on but there are still moments that I miss her. That is just an ordinary feeling. I am trying to enjoy myself. That is why I organized mylot meet up so I can enjoy myself with other people.

I think that this line can be related to couples in relationship as well. In my experience, I realized that having a time away from my girlfriend makes us miss each other more and the moment we meet, we become more passionate and loving with each other. It is also true that there are times that we need to see new or different surrounding so as to let things grow dull. I guess it is just human nature, the way some things become simply normal when you get so used to it.

sometimes we have to be apart or separated with our partner so we can really feel the importance of one another.so the next time you meet, you will really see the passion of love.you also feel the excitement. i came to experienced this situation, i am so strict with my partner before and most of the time we ended up quarreling. until both of us decided to end up our relationship. i've learned a lot of things on that relationship and this will be a big help on my nest relationship. i already know what to do.

Hello rberon, I don't think Love needs a holiday at all, though your "Heart need a break" (demi lovato) from loving some one. but you can never put it in a holiday. remember, love also yourself, family and friends never stops. so, my point of view is loving a woman for a relationship can be tiring and much put effort. i think you need a break from doing that kind of love until the heart is ready again

I am getting your point of view. yes, we can never put a love in a holiday for ourself, and family but for a relationship, sometimes we have to put some bound so we can mingle with other people and to our friends. in that case they would realize the worth of one another and would test their love to each other.

This could also relate to those who are in a relationship. Space is what this sentence is talking about I feel. Being close all the time could lead to the relationship becoming stale. Just a thought.

I agree with you. that is the right term, "space". that is very important to a relationship. sometimes the two of you has to breath and involve one another to the people that surrounds them. in that point, they will realize the worth of an one another and passion of love is shared when they see each other.

I believed on that thing that even love needs a holiday. Especially if came from a painful breakup your heart needs to take some rest also.

Absolutely!when you just came up from a break up, do not involve yourself with another relationship. try to rest first. try to unwine and do things that makes you happy. in short you have to love yourself. no one can help you move on except yourself. when you are already ready to enter in a relationship, you have to be careful already. don't do the same mistakes that you've done before so you won't suffer in the end. thanks for sharing!

Yeah, that's the way it is. it should go that way. no one can make us happy except ourself. we know to ourself what are the things that are making us happy.i also experienced it before, it took me sometime before I was able to recover.i've learned a lesson from it and in time that i involve myself again to a relationship, i already know what to do.

I like that song too. It mesmerizes me sometimes in the past. It actually the phrase that says "even love needs a holiday" probably depends on whom are you loving and living with. There are loving that really stressful too, specially those that are complicated.
The songs is for those that are busy loving but doesn't get the love they deserve in return. Even love needs a holiday just apply to human love co's with God's love is doesn't like that. WE love Him back or not... He still love us and keep on waiting that we love Him back.
Yeah the song probably is for moving on too.

As the saying goes "love God above all". he gave us the life. without him, we are not here on this wonderful world.
I also experienced to love someone but she doesn't love me. that is one sided love. but if you really love that person, you won't expect anything in return. who knows, someday, he/she can give the love that you'v been waiting for so long.

with knowing what the song is about it could be many things. It could also mean, two people who love each other may just need a little time away from each other.

we actually have different interpretations with the song, anyway i believe that there all ideas given by the members here are all correct. it is just like sometime that there are some conflicts on others idea. my point on view on that is that we have to respect once person's idea for your idea to be respected as well. going back to the main topic, i agree that the songs says that a couple sometimes needs to be apart or separted sometime to have time with the other people that surrounds them,in that point, they will realize how they miss each other, and love one another. thanks for sharing. happy mylotting!

I think the song 'Hard to say I am sorry' is a love song telling his lover that although it is hard for him to say sorry to her (He must have done something she was not happy about), he will 'make it up to' her as he is so crazily in love with her that he can not stand a day without having her around.
As for the line 'Even lovers need a holiday', my interpretation is that sometimes some couples are so in love with each other to the extend that everything about both of them regardless of big or small are taken as their common responsibilities. After sometime, one of the couple may feel that he/she has lesser breathing space and his/her privacy compromised or invaded. This is especially so if one of the partners is more dominating and overly zealous.
For me, love is like one of the lines in the song: 'You're just a part of me i can't let go'. So there is no 'even lovers need a holiday' to me. My love for my loved one is 7/24 and 365 days of the year.

I agree with you, everybody needs a break especially when we are stress and deppress. we have to do something so we can like unwine. we like visit places where we can breath fresh air. after my last relationship, it took sometime before I was able to recover.this time i am trying to enjoy and love myself. sometimes too much love will kill you.

Wow. I think it's real :D haha
lol I'm in a holiday and it's actually an indefinite leave lol!
It's started after the break up. I can say I've moved on now. So this holiday of mine is not about moving on anymore but it's because I have different priorities at the moment.:D
But if it comes soon and proves to be real, then I'd have it again on my priority list! cheers xD

Sounds like someone did something they regret and are giving a reason behind why they did it.
