Hey guys,
I am feeling a bit disappointed in myself today.I have been searching for a job for quite a few months now.I have also narrowed my search as to what I would really like to work as and have been concentrating on the same.Today I got a call from an employer I had applied today in the morning.I was quite happy to get her call but soon my happiness became mt headache cause I could understand a word she said.I gad to often tell her to repeat herself.I think all the answers were very positive but because I just couldn't understand her I missed the bus.She was speaking way too fast and was loud n harsh.Even after requesting she went on speaking in her manner. She ended by saying of we cannot take your application further because bla bla bla.Usually I would be distraught by now but I am not feeling so down.I am surprised but i wonder if whatever happened happened for the best. After all if I fail to understand my boss how am I ever going to work there.Maybe I am getting emotionally strong ha has I am almost 32 now.In fact I don't want to sulk but find reasons that would better me.What do u guys say ABOUT THAT???Have you been through something like this before. How did u deal with it.All responses are highly appreciated.

It seems there were problems in understanding your employer verbally. I don't know exactly why this was. Did she have an accent? Did you understand the language spoken? I would imagine not being able to understand the employer as a frustrating experience. If you are not fluent in a language that would allow you to be understood or for you to understand someone, maybe it is the problem. I hope you can get another opportunity, but try and learn from the misunderstanding with the last prospect for employment.

beautiful reply.Yes I absolutely could not understand a word she said. She was speaking so fast that i cannot explain it even though i usually understand their accent and they mine.In this situation it was different...She was interviewing and did not want any nonsense. She was loud and very difficult to comprehend.I am not feeling sad at all ..i don't know why but that's what I am feeling. And I loved what you wrote in the last line.I will pay heed to it.Thank you very much.

You are very welcome coolimrose. I have had a situation in which someone's accent was so thick, all I could do was continue to ask what she said. I guess it didn't help trying to understand from a fast food drive thru speaker. I was trying to order fast food, but had to leave without successfully placing the order and purchasing the meal. I just simply could not understand what she was saying. It was quite unfortunate. Good luck to you in your job search.

That is a positive attitude when your sad. There were loads of times when I was down and feeling unsuccessful, betrayed, bullied and lots of other negative feeling. I cried most of the time but I still keep my head up and move on.
Well, many like you are feeling the same as well. I myself been looking for an online job (good paying though) where I can do at home. It seems forever but haven't found anything that is what I need and was looking for really.
You are totally right, if the job is for you then it is for you and if its not no matter how we tried we would never be satisfied or happy with it. Plus, having an understandable boss is the most stressful day in work. JUst think... if you have to deal with your boss every day. You might be posting here in my lot about you boss a lot. hahaha.
Happy mylotting!

Yeah there is no reason to give up looking for a better job with good employers. It's actually our employers that motivate us to work harder and give our best. I remember my department boss at work before, she's a hard person and most of us doesn't like her. Whenever I saw her at the elevator I try not to get inside to avoid her scrutinizing gaze. hahahaha.

It is very hard to be able to find a job in a lot of countries at the moment, and this is something that my partner is struggling with as well. It is always hard when there are so many people looking for a job at the same time, because it means that you have to stand out above everybody else who has applied. The best thing that you can do is to keep trying and if you cannot get a job soon then it might be a good idea for you to be able to go on a course or something just to give yourself some extra skills to put on your resume.

Everyone should be disappointed if they have the hope of getting a work and the hope shattered just minutes after that. i salute you for still having the heart to share your disappointment here. At least it may help you release the stress. I'm also looking for a suitable job now. I'm sorry, but to know that someone is a little bit disappointed in searching jobs, somehow it makes me feels better, because i feel like i'm not alone.

Its very bad. But don't worry. you will definitely get a job. Once a person told me that don't feel sad if you don't get something. Because you got a chance to get a better thing. Same to you also.. You will also get a better job.

That's for sure! There are moments in our lives when thinking positively would be of great advantage to us. It's like smiling even though you are experiencing hardship inside. You just need to believe in yourself that there is something good that awaits you in the other end. Maybe it will allow you to enhance your skills...and you might have good colleagues with that opportunity that is really for you.

Many businesses are hiring temps for the holidays and you never know it could become a longer term job. I would suggest applying to all of the holiday jobs that your interested in now. Good luck and I'm sure that job wasn't the right one. Its important to understand your boss.

I do hope you find that job eventually. I have a job now, but I have been searching for years for another one. I just feel that I need a better job, a better boss. Sadly, I have been in and out of interviews, but nothing has ever got me. But, I am not losing hope just yet. I will continue searching until I find what I am looking for. Or it finds me. Or whatever. But, I sincerely hope you find a good job now. Just don't lose hope and float your resume. Just apply and apply and apply. Eventually, one of these companies will notice you.

Hi CoolimRose,
You need to think positive. As what people would always say...maybe there is a more great opportunity for you at the end of the line. Maybe that job is really not for you. Or maybe you will experience a lot of hardships with that job.
Anyways, I've been through a lot of interviews after I graduated college but I did not give up and loose hope since I know I will be given a better opportunity...and now, I think I am heading on to that great opportunity.
Happy Mylotting!
