This is it guys, tomorrow's the day!
This will be the first time I will go see a Dermatologist. My face is not perfect, it has a lot of acne and I have been suffering this for the a few years now. I have tried a lot of facial stuff and tried advises from what I have read in blogs and even here in Mylot with no luck. And now, I have decided to go see a dermatologist. Yes, I realized just a few days ago that I needed to go see one. My acne has unfortunately worsen. The reason why I haven't consulted one is because I am afraid and too shy to ask for an expert's advice.
Anyway, have you ever experienced going to a dermatologist? How was it? Could you help me lessen this anxiousness I am feeling now?
I know I am not going into a surgery or any diagnostic thingy, but I am a bit nervous and anxious. Hope this turns out well.

I know how you feel..In fact I've been in the same position as you..I also suffered from adult acne in my 20s..I went to a dermatologist for my acne because they were pretty bad..The doctor put me on acutane that made my skin clear..Keep in mind that a lot of dermatologist may put you on medications that doesn't necesarily mean your body is ready for..Side effects affect each of us differently..Accutane will make your skin very dry..I had nose bleeds from it and it almost messed up my liver..so i had to relinquished the meds after two months..

I hope that your acne goes. At least you have taken a step towards it by going to the dermatologist. They are best to guide according your skin type. I do have acne problem but I have extra facial hair growth and ingrowth which make my face look ugly at times. I need to see a dermatologist also but since i have never been i am hesitant. Thanks for sharing and have a wonderful day ahead.

My derma only gave me prescription and told me to avoid eating sweets. After a month, I still haven't seen any results, my pimples still shows and I think there's nothing I can do about it because I am still in the age where my hormones are at it's peak.

I haven't consulted a dermatologist yet. But as much as I want to, I would really see one. Because I wanted to consult them about my blackheads and white heads. :)

Oh don't be too shy! Your dermatologist will be very much willing to answer all your questions. Just think, they're there to help you address your problem. And you're one step closer to finally having a clear skin. You will learn a lot from them; I learned how to properly clean my face, what products to use and do's and don'ts from my own derma.

Oh. Good luck. Don't be nervous. Just be sure that the doctor is the one that you could be trusted. :) And good thing that you like to take care of your skin more by seeing a dermatologist. :) I think that's the best thing to do for your acne. You need professional's advice for that so it won't get worse. Good luck and I hope the dermatologist could help you cure those acnes. :)

I went to a dermatologist when I was in my teens. No matter what facial creams or pills they gave me it didnt do anything. The only time my face cleared up was while I was pregnant with my children. It actually cleared up a little while I was on the depo shot as well until recently. I just wrote a post about using a new product to hopefully help clear my skin up. If it doesnt I'm going to have to go see a dermatologist. I dont have medical insurance is why I am putting it off.

Going to Derma once in a while is a treat also for all of us, because the procedure will squeeze every white and black head in our pore that causing us pimples and cystic pimple. But unfortunately I will tell you in advance that it will not be as comfortable as it was because pricking is so damn painful even if I go several times I still haven't been used of the pain of pricking. But it gives me a good results.

I have had facial spa and also experienced the painful pricking. I honestly hate the feeling. But, this will be the first time I will be going to a dermatologist to ask for professional advice on what to use and what not to use for my face. The doctor may also be giving some possible procedures to be done in my face.

I did went out of there alive alright, and I wasn't really happy went I went out because not only was I paying $11 for the consultation fee, but she also gave me a prescription for topical medicines worth $45. I ended out broke after. Not seeing so much of the result after a 1 though so I really wasn't that satisfied.
