Do you ever feel like there is so much to do that you end up doing nothing?

So I have a part time job which is supposed to be an 8 hour contract but I end up doing 20-30, by the time I get in I have little time to do anything. I make dinner and get the washing done but also need to do food shopping, properly clean the bathrooms, tidy the garden up, do the Avon either deliveries or collections, visit the grandparents, learn to drive, get the prescriptions, pay the bills, feed the fish, re-craft for my crafting business and vacuum and dust. So much needs done that I can't decide what to do first and thus it effects productivity.
Does anyone have any advice or an idea to priorities these activities and or jobs, obviously work isn't negotiable.

I was in your predicament then but what I did was list down everything in a paper and find the most important and the priority. Then I schedule everything in order manner and see to it that the time I allotted to each job are done exactly as scheduled. Example, if you need to wash clothes, see to it that the amount to was the clothes will consume the time you allotted to it. Enough clothes to was for an hour time. Now, if you want to shop for something in a day, give an amount of time to do it, do not shop for the thing the whole day. This means that you should have time management in everything you do.

Hi Golden lady!
I used to follow my list.I think it was really effective but there were also times that I didn't finish all my "things to do" in one day thus I feel frustrated.

Maybe I should start by making a list, Can't think of any other way to get everything done will start doing that tonight thanks guys. I guess you can just carry over to the next day what you don't get done.

i also have had times like that at work. it's actually a regular job, and being in a position, i tend to have a lot of work piled up even before my day starts.
so what i do is just like what goldenlady says. i write up the things to be done and decide which ones are more important, and which ones needed less time to accomplish.
usually i do those easy things first so that i could finish more and deal with the time consumers later in the day.

Incentives and rewards are always beneficial when you have a list of chores to do, otherwise you are inclined to give up or get despondent and end up doing nothing at all, we all hate chores, but when we treat ourselves afterwards then it makes the chore worthwhile. Obviously all your jobs you mentioned cannot ever be done in one day, so spread it out over the week, prioritize which jobs need doing first and then at the end of each day when you have ticked off the list treat yourself for your success in completing the list! I used to treat myself to a hot soak in the bath with calming music in the background, I'd turn off the phones etc and relax! Then you spread your chores out otherwise it becomes a total mountain to climb in just one day!

I would do the Avon first so you don't get behind on deliveries or collections and people aren't bugging you where their items are they paid for. Then you could do your washing in between cleaning, on the weekends you could do your food shopping and everything else you can't get done during the week. Do the things that need to be done prompto and do the rest later. Hope your able to figure out a better schedule.

Hey this is human nature we all things or plans to do amny things for the particular day or in our life but at the end we can finished or managed to complete only 25% of the work that we planned.
Keep in mind there is always the waste difference between what we plan and what we do or rather what we are/have able to do it.

I suggest you do time management and number the activities that are most important for the day. Don't squeeze in all the stuffs that you must do in just one day. Take time to relax for a few minutes so that you can do these things better rather than always rushing just to finish all.

I'm in that situation sometimes especially at work when the task should be done immediately. I get stressed out which leads me to confusion on which part to do first.
Sometimes, it will take me a few minutes to relax then I am back with my own self again.

Yes! I used to give up easily when there are a lot of homeworks and paper works given to me at school. And it feels like that my body won't function well and I ended up doing nothing. :)

Not really, but sometime I feel like I didnt do enough in a day. I make a list and try to get to all them. But sometimes I dont get all of them done. So I pass them on to the next day. Just make sure you do the most important things first.

It really pays a lot if you know how to manage your time. Like what goldenlady said, prioritize the important things to be done. It also helps if you tuck yourself early in bed and get up early in the morning so you can roll up your sleeves and finish your tasks early.
