I don't think that the old stuff are worn out and put it in a stuffy box. Some of the old-fashioned are seen in fashion trends. The retro clothes in 70's, the songs didn't fade from its original, and so forth. It was only revive it for the new trends. I can still remember, the use belt bag or fanny pack in High School. If you don't have one, you're out of fashion in terms of body accessories. How about you?

I see that too. My old jackets which I had neatly stacked up in my cupboard have now become fashion.I am happy about it as I can wear them and no one will know they are ancient! But I only hope bell bottoms do not get back. I did wear them in the good old days but would not go for them now if they come back.

I`d pass on bell bottoms too. I`m afraid I was around 35 pounds slimmer when I wore them and had no tummy. I will not talk about how old I was then as I don`t want to get a depression.

Hi friend, you are right, old things will get a new look due to the fashion, most of the new trend items are the reform of the old ones, so we must avoid throwing the old things and keep it in a safe manner, surely it will be useful while the fashion changes based on our needs.

I would have to see what I have left from those days. I know the posh bag I use when I go to big parties is about that age. I have used it all these years thinking only the it`s the best to put my keys, documents and a handkie.

You are right. Some old things are so nice and enduring that they never get old enough to get outdated. They get popular again.I don't know what is going on in other cities, but in my hometown wearing 'dhoti' is now getting popular. There was a time when wearing dhoti was considered old fashioned, but now I see young guys learning how to wear it.Similarly old songs by Mukesh,Manna Dey,Rafi and Lata Mangeshkar are fast getting popular.

the fanny pack was not from the 70's but the original peace sign was. i remember winning peace sign necklace at a local fair when i was young. other trends from the 1970's are crazy bell bottoms and platform shoes. what i wear now still is a peace sign which is back in style again.

Indeed my friend, old trends keeps coming back. So the belt bag is back again. I haven't seen it here yet in our country. However, the trend here is the body bag.

Thanks for posting this discussion. Well yes there is a saying Old is Gold and i think that is just the thing happening these days. Some of the old fashioned things are being made popularized with some modern touch to them and this is a great way to revive the old fashion in the minds of today's people. What say?

Now in my city the fashion designer tend to revive the old trends accessories, such as the shirt now people tend to close the top button just as the old days,so I think things go to some level and have a return and absorb the good thing in the old days.

Yes shavkat, you are right. As the quote says, "History repeats itself". Old fashioned designs also exists nowadays. When I browsed those pictures of my mom during her teenage years, I laughed because in the photo, she had worn skinny jeans and loose shirt. It is already a trend nowadays and how fascinated that I and my mom are having the same get ups.
