A Blocked IP Address or maybe a Virus is causing This.

This has been irritating me for the past three days! I am a stay at home mom and so I try to earn something working online along with earning here at Mylot and other PTC sites. What really made me so frustrated is I am not able to access some websites. Now I am unable to do tasks which I normally do for the last 2 months. I tried checking my system if it has virus or malware but found nothing. With Mylot, I am not sure if it is just my computer or if you are also experiencing it but it happens to load quite slow. Could it be that my IP address was blocked from certain sites or there really is a virus in my computer. I tried using a different connection and everything was fine. What should I do? Please help! It's driving me nuts!

Try resetting your modem, it could be that someone hacked into it. Another problem could be if you recently downloaded any tool bars. Sometimes they interfere with the sites you want to use. MyLot tends to be on the slow side, but if you are being hacked it will be slower than normal. I'd try doing a system recovery on your computer, and resetting your modem. If the problem still persists call your service provider.

That is really weird. The problem is definitely not in your computer, so it has to be with your service. Perhaps you need to purchase a new modem.

Hello jenny.. I am not sure about your problem...may be your ISP is using specific IP(static)address..so better ask your ISP,,they will definitely help you regarding this issue,,there are two type's of ip provided by the ISP,,dynamic or static,,,

Hi, abhishaki64! Thanks for having time to respond. Actually, the problem has been solved a week after I posted the discussion. I am really not sure what happened coz when I called my ISP and did troubleshooting nothing happened. I just had just realized that I was having my normal "connection" when I tried logging in to the sites which I had difficulties connecting to.

Why don't you try to reformat your OS and see if you will still have the same problem. If your IP address was hacked, I don't think you can still log in or use your net once it is hacked. I guess there's some malware that blocks you from opening your other sites.
