I know uploading movies online and downloading it is really not good for the movie industry because that is piracy already. Maybe your government's reason to this law is to protect the movie industry. Just make sure to follow it so you won't be penalized.

You have your own mind to think and to decide. Your friends will not decide for you therefore they can't for you to do anything you are not willing to do.

Most of us are interested in watching videos, music and movies in you tube. Some persons will download the recent movies from you tube without any cost. But this kind of activity is a piracy. We must download the licensed version of the movie and pay money for it. Lot of sites are available to download paid version of the movies, but most of the people are interested in downloading the free movies from you tube without any cost. Various countries have strict laws against this kind of piracy, even some country banned you tube and downloading movies from it, however some persons are still interested in downloading the free movies and some persons will upload this kind of pirated movies in you tube and get money based on the downloads. In India the government is banned such kind of downloading and uploading the new movies in you tube and made it as an offense. However still some people are doing it without the knowledge of others. They are making CD and DVD's with this downloads and selling them in the markets for low prices. People will buy this CD's and watch the movies. The producers invest a lot of money with the movie. Actor, Actress, Directors and other technicians worked a lot for the movie. We must give importance to their hard work and avoid such kind of uploading and downloading activities as well as never buy such kind of pirated CD's and DVD's in the market. With such kind of pirating activities lot of families lost their direct income for their hard work. People must come forward to avoid such kind of illegal activities. If you want to see a new movie, you can download it with the sites which is providing the licensed version. It will help the persons who are working hard for the movie to get the credits for their hard work. Now government is announcing penalty for such kind of pirated movies and illegal downloads. People must use youtube in a good way and avoid piracy using it.

First of all, Start India with capital letter, as it is country name. Coming to the point, Government implemented it very well. I never appreciate such things done by some people. Everyone ought to follow Government rules.

There is nothing new about the copyright laws, and simply because it was never under a strict control does not imply that it was legal. Despite the prolific uploading and downloading of movies, it has been illegal for as long as it has been happening. The same applies to copying and selling software or audio CDs.

Now? What do you mean, now? Piracy has been illegal and an offense for a very long time. I doubt it's only become an offense just now in India because of this new law you speak of. I bet the government is only just enforcing it better now. It's illegal in the US too. But lots of people think that because they typically get away with it, that it's not. They're wrong. Hopefully we'll see better legislation against it in the future.

Oh, i have no problem with that.. since it is piracy if you upload copyrighted stuff on the internet.. But only if it is okay to upload them a few months after. it is totally against the law, since it's stealing but many peeopl do it, so it's hard to stop.

YouTube is not a downloading site, so it is truly a violating if you downloaded contents over the site without permission. YouTube is a video sharing site and it does not have features of downloading content unlike Napster or Real Player where you can download such. Although there are YouTube converters that is catering Tube vids to video formats it’s not safe to download such because some have spam contents on it which makes your computer prone to viruses.

But why? :O Here in the Philippines, anyone can upload movies/videos owned by other big stations, but if the stations requests removal of the video, YouTube does it. I think as long as there's no restrictions by the video owners, then it's fine .. I love YouTube and the free videos :(
