In the Philippines even if one is a college graduate it is not a guarantee that one can get a job right away and some have jobs that are unrelated to their degree, like a nurse graduate who is working in a call center. Some who just took a vocational/technical course can easily get a job. So would you still go to a college or a university with our economy and prices of commodities rising or just be practical and get a vocational/technical certificate?

I think it's just now a days that skills are more in demand here in the PH and Abroad. The reason that they are more potential to get a job that are related to what they took. But I think they are just the same, it either you took up short courses or the degree courses. It just depend on your financial status if you have money to enroll on degree education why not? Degree courses is much more broader in terms of job hiring, there are companies that requires a job hunter to be a 4 year grad course. and if you finish your 4 year course and want to have a short course then go get one.

I think it would really depend on the person taking it. If you do have the motivation and perseverance for what you would really like to happen. I think you can have the job you want. But graduating in a technical school such as Don Bosco, R.I, TESDA, would really make your job finding easier,. Like Don Bosco for example. After you graduate any (vocational or technical) they would help you in finding new Jobs. Most of the industrial company are looking for someone who graduates on those schools,

Well I prefer a college degree than a vocational course. Because it will give you more chance to find a job when you graduate. :)

Neither having a vocational/technical degree or a college degree guarantees you a job related to what course you took in college. I know some people who has a vocational/technical degree or a college degree who has a job related to their course. Then again, it's your own choice if you're going to take a vocational/technical degree or a college degree.

Well, I still think obtaining a degree is still important because bachelor graduates have the highest chances to get promoted and to be hired abroad but taking vocational certificate is not a bad idea. Both of them are good actually as long as you take something that has a great demand or something that you really like.
