No, this was not an exiting, fast action, eye openers around ever bend. But it was a quaint, sweet tale of some old folks and what they do in their travels to India. It had Magie Smith, Judi Dench, Ronald Pickup and several other senior actors. If you are an older person i really think you will enjoy it.
From IMDB.com "British retirees travel to India to take up residence in what they believe is a newly restored hotel. Less luxurious than its advertisements, the Marigold Hotel nevertheless slowly begins to charm in unexpected ways.
Have you seen it? Your thoughts.

My dear friend celticeagle,
At the time you came to India, did you see the Taj mahal. It is situated on the Yamuna river bank at Agra. It is well connected with road, rail and air transport. Marigold Hotel is also situated there and you can enjoy the stay and see the wonder of the world marvelous Taj mahal.
Thanks ^___^

I have never been to India. I would love to see the Taj Mahal. I have seen many pictures of it. So there is a real Marigold Motel? That is cool. Happy Mylotting,

The title of the film rings a bell and I think I have seen it because I remeber bits from what you say about it.
I think I must have enjoyed the film as it has many good actors in it that I like.
So yes it was good and maybe I might see if I can find it and rewatch it so I can remeber all of it.

I know when you watch and have watched lots of films they all tend ot gel into one.
I watched The Aroiscats with my daughter friday night and told her the song "We are siemese" was it it!!! Well it wasn't! So I now have no idea what film that song comes from now... maybe "Lady and the Tramp"! But I don't really have any ideas

hello,
this movie is set in india and has indian actors in it. i watched this movie since i am also an indian. i liked this movie. its a well made movie about some old peoples who come to india for some vacation and how it changed their lives. this is not some suspense or fast paced movie , you are right. the whole plot of the movie is totally different. its a feel good kind of movie. i love this kind of movie. and i intend to watch more movies like this. in my opinion this movie deserves an oscar nomination. lets see what happens.

India is an exotic country. I've never been there but I would love to someday, I hope I will see that luxurious Marigold Hotel. My experiences about India was only by their food from several Indian restaurants in my town, I like them rather mild and not to spicy.

I really don't care for Indian food. It is interesting to know that the Marigold Hotel actually exists.

hi celticeagle!
i haven't watched the film although i read a review in imdb after reading your post about it. it seems an interesting film to watch. not really my cup of tea but after watching so many action adventure movies and slapstick comedy, i think a change of pace should do me well.
will watch the movie later and post my thoughts afterwards.
thanks for sharing this celticeagle.
cheers and happy mylotting!!!

Yes, cheers and happy Mylotting to you too! I think this movie was a nice film. Nothing outrageos just a quaint little tale of some seniors trying to enjoy a vacation is a foreign land.

I saw this film and liked it. It is a fish out of water story in the fact that these people decide to move to India until they pass but don't really know anything about the place they have chosen. There is comedy and a little romance as well as self discovery. I don't want to talk about it too much because I don't want to spoil it.
I love Judi Dench and Bill Nighy. Those two and all the other actors do a fantastic. These are all well seasoned actors that still pick up meaty parts all the time. This film just put together a great cast.
BTW I am in my 20s but then again I don't need the constant action film to hold my attention all the time because if that is all I watch I will get bored.

One man knew India and had been there before. Yes, Judi and Bill are favorites of mine as well. Maggie Smith is too. I wonder how the coming together of these great actors came to be. Do you enjoy vintage film as well? I am real vintage film buff and most young people don't care for it.
