Jobs VS cost of living

Neither myself or other people that I know are having problems finding work. The businesses raised their prices on products (food, clothes, etc.) and when people complained about it they were told that is the only way we can keep our employees. But,at the same time they are firing them, lowering their pay and adding the duties to the people they let go to their jobs. The majority of jobs only pay $15,000 annually.
We have all looked for places to live, nothing grand, just a small and safe place to live.At the cheapest apartment complex around here to qualify for a one bedroom apartment the required income is over 50 thousand dollars a year. That would take 4 adults working full time making at least $12,500 a year. But,that is for a one bedroom unit, which only allows 2 people!
I called the department of housing and was told that the majority of housing assistance programs list are closed and will probably be for 4 years or more. However there are some apartments available in the low income apartments.Even though both my daughter and I are both female we must have a 2 bedroom apartment and I would have to make $27,000 annually!!!!! That's only one adult! But,in the apartment that I have to earn over $50,000 a year we can both be in the same bedroom.
Is that everywhere?

Hmm, I am not sure how the allowances work in your country. I don't have a house myself but my friend took a housing bank loan to build her house 2 years ago. I think her salary is around 1200 € /month and she already owned the land. A brand new 2bedroom apartment in a multistorey building probably costs around 120000€ and you can take a loan according to your income based on the bank interest and if you fulfill the requirements.
The system that you describe sounds confusing! Isn't it less expensive to build on your own land, or this is not an option for you?

Hi besweet,I wish it was an option for me.Our requirements are that our credit has to be near perfect to get a loan. That's the way it is to get in the apartment as well. And you have to have a lot of money to put down on the land, then also on the contractors to build the home.

The salary we got from our job is not enough for our cost of living. We need to be careful in spending our money before we will regrets at the end.
Although the cost of living matters on the type of place we live but still we are more concern on our expenditures. We need to minimize our expense and maximize our earnings.
