It's twice election passes in our country I didn't vote. One time I was away from my place because I was applying for a job abroad. The second time when I was already working abroad. Next year, another election again but I will leave my country end of this year so again I won't vote for another election.

Wow I am more confused than ever. To me that list seems contradictory.
How would you fight wars, and have world peace? In order to fight a war, you can't sit back and remain peaceful.
How would you stop poverty and homelessness, but yet lower the deficit?

A good president needs to:
1. help fight wars
2. help world peace
3. help poverty
4. help homeless
5. help lower the defecit
They never do many of these things, and should.

Our elections in the Philippines will be next year, though it's not presidential, it's on 2016, I think. Yes, I'm a registered voter and I voted for 2 consecutive elcetions now, hoping to be able to cast my vote next year. Usually, the processing and counting takes a lot of time, maybe a month back when things are still manual. But since we have now the automated machines for counting, things are different. I hope they will use it again next year and on 2016. For clean elections, I'm positive.

It's lucky that you can vote for your president. In my country, common people like me never have the chance to vote in presidential election. I think voting in presidential election shows the degree of a country's democracy. I hope I can have the real right of voting, too.

I have voted in all my country`s president elections. I am not sure if I will vote on the next one. I did my best to help my country regain democracy after Pinochet`s coup. My husband was friefly in jail. Many of my friends and family fled from the country and some never came back. But I don`t see politicians opening chanels of participation to the people. It`s just another ruling class who wants power and wealth. Furthermore, I can see that everywhere. Lately I am beginning to ask myself if there is a democracy anywhere. And my answer is "no".

We have municipal elections soon and for the first time in my life I decided I will not vote. I am sick of politicians. Many are corrupt, some are lazy and all are paid by us. I worked like mad a couple of decades ago to get rid of a dictator. I thought democracy would mean participation. But the only participation we have after 2 decades is that we can vote.

Our elections here in Trinidad is in the next 2 years. The last one gave us our first female prime minister ever. It was also the first time I voted. Who won the Mexican election? A lot of people think that an individual vote does not matter but when the count is very close its apparent how important it is to vote. In my country the reigning party does all sots of things to get re-elected,they pave roads, build a school or two and finish almost all outstanding projects. Do you experience this same last minute effort to impress from your government?
