Hi ms.Hatley... How are you feeling now? When it's that rude, I think there's nothing wrong when you reported it. It's still good to have good people around so when there's trouble, there will always be a helping hand. Is the discussion deleted? Can you give me some links?

didn't know that there were bullies here in mylot. I always thought of mylot as a safe haven for intelligent (and unintelligent but fun) conversations. I agree. Report it and be gone with the bullies!

Of course it is not wrong to report it. We all make inadvertent statements that can cause offense, but there is no excuse for intentionally trying to be insulting. I am surprised at the word poseur being used because this is a very obscure word which I have only encountered a couple of times in my life. I can only assume that the reference was made to suggest that blasphemy was used in order to conform to a certain social standard, which appears to make very little sense at all. Nevertheless, it is not just the choice of words but more importantly whether the intention was to offend, so you obviously got the impression from the general demeanour of the post that offence was intended. You made the right decision reporting that because we do not need that attitude. It is not difficult to disagree with someone in a civil manner.

Mmmm, I wonder if it was the "city" guy that posted the insult. Except he don;t just insult because of mistakes, but because he "thinks" he is right all the time. I have been a barbarian for the way I treat my dogs by this guy, so I wouldn't be surprised if it was him. Except back then, I didn't realize I could report him, but the last time, I was told to and sure enough, his comment got deleted...

Dear Ms Hatley Of course, it is our duty to report such incidents. Many a times, they may not be mistakes but being done intentionally. There is always a slight margin of doubt and that is what the admins role has been. I too do not bother much these days but when I do find something insulting, I do make it a point to report it - and let the admins take care and the path of action. That way we all actually keep the pond clean and that does give all of us the much needed fresh water here at MyLot. This cleanliness is still one factor which keeps me returning back to myLot (and many other MyLotters too)

Good job for reporting and getting that removed. I hope those members who saw it also used that negative button on the response. They would surely deserve that.

I would have done the same. Rude people need to be brought up short. There is no reason not to disagree politely and kindly point out any errors. No name calling allowed.

You did a good thing to one of our dear lotters here. He is deserve to be reported to the Admin. Even we felt hurt or insulted we should not act like we are in our home we can do anything. We have different cultures and tradition here so we should repect one another

I will have to do some discussion research to see if we are talking about the same person as initially I didn't see anything about her saying that. Well maybe it's a different person. If it is it makes it worse. We should be bully each other, anywhere. I would report anything like that I saw because people have done so for me, but also because it is the right thing to do. Mylot asks us to do it. We don't want to lose a potential new friend because they were bullied away.

I rarely see any problems in discussions. That is not for the last few years since some trouble makers left. Poor them and always getting deleted and couldn't figure out why. Felt they were being so badly treated. Poor things! Not! I think it is perfectly alright to report people who misuse the site.

good for you. we can always depend on you to stick up for the underdogwe often make mistakes typing on here and no one has a right to fuss about it. if they are that picky they can leave or ignore the discussion instead of picking on and being rude to someone. good girl

I think I know the post you're talking about. I was a little shocked to come across it. I've seen some heated discussions, gotten involved in a few myself, but I've rarely seen posters name-calling and spelling offensive language around the censor to get insults extra mean in. It wasn't even something I'd consider all that big of a deal, and I don't think the subject matter warranted heated attitudes. I agree, it's bullying and bullies aren't welcome here. I also reported the post.

Why am I keep missing these kind of posts? I hardly ever see any insulting posts when I am here. Perhaps they are promptly removed by the time I only found out through topics such as this one; thanks to those who reported them...

I agree with you, if it really upset me or someone else then I will. Just like you I dont often report anyone.

I've no idea of who you are talking about but I will say that if I saw a mylotter being mean to another that I would report it. It is never ok to be mean and name calling is ridiculous. It sounds like a situation that needed to be reported.

dear Hatley, I always report those who insult and call other mylotters by names. Those rude people doesn't have any right to stay with this site. This the best thing with Mylot- we can easily get rid off from those bullies. Kudos Admin Cheer ma'm

Mornin' Hatley! You were right. No name calling! I reported someone the other day that I thought crossed the line. This is supposed to be a discussion site not a free-for-all with verbal abuse. I think those abusive types should be banned.

hmmmpt... rules and faqs are needed here to be read by each one over and over again my madam. gee! thanks to the concern people like you who used to report this kind of conflict. yeah, even how angry we were, we are not allowed to be rude to anyone. need to trim down that kind of attitude because it can cause no good output at the end.

Yep, i saw that too. It is a shame for that guy to insult by writing such a thing that would hurt another person. This is really saddening. To tell a person off can be worded in a nice manner instead of being rude. It is a good thing that there are a bunch of kind and nice mylotters to help and give support. Way to go! =)
