what do you do with crisp packets when you've finished?

I am reading a book by Ian Rankin at the moment, and he describes how his main character, DI Rebus, folds his empty crisp packet lengthways and then ties it in a knot. I do the same thing, and with sweet wrappers etc. It got me wondering what other people do - just crumpling them? Or maybe blowing air into them and squashing them to make a bang? What do you do?

That is really mean! You could give someone a heart attack doing that - but im sure a lot of people do it!
