It is indeed music knows no boundaries. I have a new favorite dance song and it's in Korean. I really love the tune and the beat becasue it's danceable and it is a current craze among kids and young at heart just like me. Though I can't understand the language and I really don't mind about the lyrics. As long as I enjoy it.
Are you like me?
Do you like to listen or dance to music even not in your own language?
Share your thoughts please on the latest craze - "Gangnam Style"
Thanks.

Hi mikyung, I first listened to Gangnam Style a couple of months or so before accidentally while roaming along youtube. The song is a hit after its release in July. Yeah, the Korean horse riding dance music is so livingly. When the music is on air those who love music certainly can't help dancing following the rousing, active and energetic music for sure
Lyrics are not that important as long as the melody and rhythm listening are lovely and would vibrate our heart

It's doesn't matter what language the song would be I just enjoy and be happy always listening to songs with lively and beautiful melodies as well as rhymes that really inspire me. We would feel it deeply without understand the language they play. Even though I don't understand Korean I enjoy listening to many of the theme songs of the tv series I have watched

Yes,I listen to Korean songs and Indian (Hindi)songs.
I also have a cd of Japanese instrumental songs.
I also listen to other countries music because I love music - and as long as it is sweet to listen with- I will surely appreciate that song.

I guess most of us loves to listen to music. Some of us even had their favorite group bands or singer. Music is considered to be a stress reliever, also helps promote productions especially in work areas. My preference are love songs and some hit songs. Yes sometimes, it does not matter what language the lyrics is as long as we enjoy the tune or the tempo of the music, it's just fine. The Korean rapper PSY make it big through his Gangnam Style song and dance. I like his style of music too.

We are one here, we like his style. We come to appreciate more of the things now, with the introduction of this songs, we see the good things around amidst confusion and differences in beliefs. And also, an encouragement to create songs and that anybody can create a nice music. Thanks

Hi Mikyung, I like the Gangnam Style song too and it'very funny. My husband like it too and we dance it at home every morning when were doing some exercise and were trying to practice the step so that on our family reunion by next month we have something to present. My husband and I also love the song of Korean group which is Girls Generation (SNSD), we can not understand the song but thought their voice and tune we can felt what they really means.

I like Gangnam Style to I have danced to it a few times when I have been out in night clubs though admittedly not very well but that's probably as much to do with drink as it has with my rubbish dancing.I don't find that not knowing what the words mean makes any difference it's got a very catchy tune and that's what matters.Though my friend did look up an English translation of Gangnam style and it makes hardly any sense. Its got lines like I'm the kind of guy that can one shot his coffee when it's still hot.

You title suggests that you like dance music. Am I right?
Asian popular song/music usually do not get international attention as much as songs produced in US, UK and Australia. Thanks to internet, "Gangnam Style" becomes the first South Korean sensation to be able to get international success. As of this typing, the song is currently No 2 on Billboard HOT 100 chart (Again thanks to the viral video on internet).
Somehow I get the sense that PSY would end up becoming a one HIT wonder in US and possibly many other countries. Why? Hits or popular songs in languages other than English don't get consistent popularity or attention. I could be wrong. Maybe he would start singing in English or he may collaborate with some well known singers.
I personally do not share what you feel. I know many like it and the song becomes very popular here. Still, there are other dance songs that I like better.

Indeed, the Korean song "Oppan Gangnam Style" has captured the heart of many. A lot of people jive though most of them don't really know the true meaning or what the song tells. However, it didn't hindered the song to be on top on charts. I'm a big fan of Korean songs. I still remember the first Korean song I listened. I can say that it it already part of my life and I just can't live without it. But still we should not forget our own music.

I am sorry my friend,i really don't like korean song or korean style of music.Right now,the korean style become famous in around the world. In my country too.I prefer listening music or song with good lyrics and music that i can understand. So it makes me think and influences by that song.I hope with good lyrics, especially about children and social can makes the world better.I know there is no rules for that, you're free to listening all of music that you like, even you don't understand the language. But for me that was useless.

Indeed music is a universal language.
This song is quite pnenomenal all over the world wherein kids and adults like to listen and dance with it. The melody and dance is quite catchy and could encourage you to dance with it even though we dont understand the lyircs. There are lots of people who created and recorded their own version of it in youtube.
