Does the physical look and shape of a banana put you off eating it?

Just wondering if anybody else associates food they eat with things they look like? And does it put them off eating whatever it is for instance bananas and sausages make me uncomfortable eating them if they are wrinkly or raw. prawns and other shell fish that are served intact with a shell put me off too not so much crabs but specifically prawns and welks and things like that. I mean you wouldn't serve a leg of lamb or something with the full hoof and wool still on it, the bones OK but the greasy slimy bits in between the bones put me off. Even flavoured jelly and jelly sweets like harribo but me off as I know they are made from animal hooves. Maybe it is better not know what is in some food sometimes?

I don`t mind any of the food you don`t like. But I don`t like overcooked food, specially those stews where potatoes are almost mashed. Yucky!!! Some seafood though is better if served in their shells.I like to open oysters and eat them raw (with lemon) and alive.

Yeah I hate over cooked food too that either ends up tasting of slop or just water its not enjoyable, or cremated over done meat like red meat with a little life and blood left in it. Some sea food is better tasting fresh with shells on but I require restaurants to keep the shells and faces of things off my plate, I never have a problem with being served a whole fish though I kind of like the freshness of that sort of thing especially if your on holiday and its straight from the sea or a crab or lobster. Though I am pretty sure I have problems digesting things like oysters and muscles they make me physically ill but I think our part of the world is a bit polluted and my immune system isn't so good.

Very true, it is particularly difficult when my entire family likes their meat done differently lol.

It so seems that everyone likes different things as food goes. When I have a barbecue at home I don`t like well done meat, but some people like it very well done. It`s the same with everything.

Hmm interesting question. I can't think of any food that puts me off like that right now. I eat almost anything but if I ever had to try deep fried bugs or anything like that I don't think I would, that sounds pretty icky but foods that might look like something else I dont' seem to have an issue. If as you said they served a lamb leg with hoof and wool attached I don't know if I could then eat it or not

Yeah lol. I can eat things like frogs legs but without the rest of the frog attached of course. Can even eat sushi and the likes but the live looking part is gone already so no problems with that.

I am not a picky eater., So I just practically munch on anything for as long as I know that it is edible. I am not afraid to try new food, so I could blend in with people from the places I go to.

For the most part I am not either, there are just a few foods that I know I cannot eat though. I do not really fancy eating wall fish or snails however.

There are not a few people who have a sudden sick feeling in their stomachs or have an eerie feeling at the sight of some foods, because they suggest some other thing.Over here some daren't eat eel, because they always associate it with the snake.

I think over here people have a general problem with eel, one of our loughs provides huge masses of eel but we never see any off it. It is always shipped half way across the world. I don't think that the majority of people that live where I live are adventurous. I will try anything at least once but some things do really put me off.

Here there are two kinds of eel. Both of them are long snake-like fish. One is finless eel with dark spots on its yellow body;the other is round in the front and flat in the back, which has a white and slightly yellow belly and a greyish black back. They two all live in fresh water.I don't know what kind of eel you referred to.

I dont eat banana so the look wouldn't really matter because I dont eat them at all! But I know others who wouldn't mind what the banana would look like, they'll eat it as long as it's not rotten.

My boyfriend just doesn't eat them either he doesn't like the taste or texture. My mum would eat them every day chopped up in her cereal and I would sometimes chop it up to have with nutella in a sandwich for breakfast.

I won't feel that way, unless if I have a type A personality. The fruit is tend to be natural, there is no perfect things in this world.

I eat what tastes good no matter what it looks like, personally.

Yes, some food like sheep ribs, or any other meat that has fat or a very distinct smell puts me off. However, I nevet thought about the banana shape, maybe because I cut my fruits in piecies and mix them together most of the times! If I think harder, I will definitely find more food types that I can't eat because of how they look on my plate!

I am creative but not too imaginative to associate a banana with anything other than a fruit that I like. I also have some reservations in eating some food which doesn't look like they're carefully cleaned or prepared but other than that I am not too picky at all.

Yeah if I find a caterpillar in my salad I find it a little off putting and hard to eat.

Nah. For the most part so long as something tastes good, I will eat it.
