i do not know if how essential this topic would be, but i want to know if each of the individual could tell about the characteristics of their mentor who lead us to of the tasks in mylot during the first days of experience here as we agreed to the terms and conditions listed (do we really follow that - lolz) okay! i mean, as newbies, we need guidance from those expert members in here and we even called them as veterans.
whoa! like me at first, i started lots of questions on how to do it here. well, some veterans helped me figured things out in here. when i was so down because encountered some conflicts, i am so lucky to have virtual friends to uplift my spirit and cheered me from being downcast.
so for me, like in real world, there are true friends and there were not. so in mylot, happy to have friends who are like my kins, help saving you from being drown.
so if you have stories to tell about your first stays in here and your interactions with veterans, kindly share it here - thanks much!

yes i experienced that. my referrer is not active actually he is my brother. So you were also helped by madam hatley and sir ravasivan!!! They also helped me a lot during my early days and months in mylot. They helped several mylotters. There were also those who helped me but I could not anymore see them here. Maybe they are just resting at this time. Anyway thanks to them too.

It is so good to see Lotters who were once new and almost drowning who are now busy and enjoying myLot like many of the vets do
Starting out here is not easy and sometimes not fun either but there are many of us who are only too willing to thow a rope and help out. We need new users as they bring a breath of fresh air with new topics for us all!

Those who I have considered as veterans are.
Owlwing, MysD, HWG (didn't know where she is right now), marguicha and hatley.
Cause they always try to help newbies, even just say something to welcome them.
Nothing speciall about me in here to be told.

I second all of them except I'm not sure if I've encountered marguicha here. Probably did but not as much as the other ones you mentioned.

My original mentor who recruited me to mylot is unfortunately, no longer active. She helped me out a bit at the start. But then I was inactive for a while and I never got to talk to her again. When I checked her profile she hasn't had any activities for years now. Still I'm grateful to her for introducing me to mylot.
Aside from her, there are a few other members here that I look up to. They have not only helped me but countless others especially on the how-to's in mylot, increasing your earnings here and having a more enjoyable stay here.

Actually, I find it that I still learn some from our friendly helpful members (some already responded and commented in this discussion) 6 years after being here. But it's fun as well to discover some things on your own (like finally figuring out how to turn on/off the notifications for when friends start a discussion).

wow, do not know such thing on how to turn on and off the notification. where am going to see for that. does it something to deal with your email being used, where you can see your notifications
gee, i do not know what did i discovered on my own here in mylot. but though what i enjoyed about is that seeing other members as they participated on your discussion. feels like a winner for that. thanks :)

I came here alone. I mean, nobody referred me here. The first thing that I really did here was just the tasks. I can see the discussions but never tried to make one when I was a newbie, as I just did the tasks. After so many months, I made my discussion, I mean DISCUSSIONS. I made lots of it knowing I will earn from doing them. Until this lotter, (I think she knows who she is) tell me I should turn them into a discussion, I should reply to them so I could earn, and a lot more. There are many veterans who helped me here on my first days but there is one who stands out and I will never forget her.

Some friends here in mylot also helped me when I was still a newbie here. They encouraged me in whatever I wrote. There was even one who came to my rescue when I was insulted by one of the mylotters here. I could not anymore remember how it was. So I thanked all those mylotters who helped me.

hi toxic__ livestyle that is so good that your mentor guided you and
taught you how mylot works. some referrals say once they were referred their
mentors just forgot them,.I just lucked onto my lot and found several
seniors who were very helpful to me but sadly one got mad at me and while still on m y friends list she threw some such caustic barbs that I just ignore her. bu t thats just one person.I was helped by so many who were here before me.

I just found this site and came on in. I have no idea how I have managed to stay so long. I made a few friends but most, not all, are gone now although I see most of them on another site that does not pay. Write good responses, set good discussions, don't deliberately offend people and discuss in an adult fashion and you won't go far wrong here. Most of all ENJOY yourself here. I learnt that from experience and by observing others. Happy myLotting.

When I joined here there were rules that did not permit newbies to ask for clarifications that already existed in faqs and guidelines. But despite that I did get help from many veterans. I too offer help if help is not already given.

wow really? is it true? whew! i just do not know how to react such thing like that. because i was fond of asking lots of questions by making a discussion over through it. then gathered and being informed as they responded to your discussion being started. that was fun though.
thanks for joining here :)

By veterans you mean those with big numbers beside their avatars. Yes, there are so many of them here who have already reached thousands upon thousands of discussions and I respect them for reaching that far. Yes, they are helpful to all members, new and old alike.

Hi missjahn! Personally, I do not ask too many questions even if I cannot figure out what to do at first attempt. Let say for example, there was a time that I just do not know how to change my profile picture. What I do is I tried to review the rules, guidelines and FAQs because I might not read something that would tell about this thing. However, still I could not find an answer to my question. I searched the topic on the search bar and there it goes, several topics about this question appeared.
Most usually, I do it this way that is why I was not able to encounter the veterans teaching me on what to do.
The only thing as far as I can remember that I really asked through creating a discussion is how I could edit my profile and I got an idea from a newbie also. Although several veterans make a reply also but I was already able to figure it out already.
Have a nice day!

Although I'm sure that when I came here, I noticed that the members are very friendly and that is one reason why I stayed for long. I also gain friends along the way. I was able to know the veterans when I opened the discussions of new members asking how to do this and that and why is this like this. They are really helping them.

LOL

good for you that you had a person who helped you all through the way in here. before, we used to slipped over my mother's permission to take a bath in the river. then, she will not knew about it because we will dry our hair and body before appearing to her. nevermind the clothes for we can take a bath without clothes on..
so thanks to :)

I have no mentor that leads me here in mylot.
Maybe it's my search of extra income that leads me here.
Actually I can't really recall how I got here in the first place.
From mylot record, I've got my first earning here last September 7 of this year which is $0.01 and on my second day another $0.01.
Actually I'm lost on my early days here, I thought earning here is too bad.
I thought of quitting, but then I try to go around the site.
I review my profile and some members profile.
then I saw one member's profile who has put banners on their profile.
I gonna put banners on my profile too, I said to myself.
But I remember something in FAQ that put doubts if this is allowed.
So I made my first discussion,
FAQ - Can I redirect my profile page?
Here I meet for the first time mysd, who now I consider as my mentor here in mylot.
Thanks for giving me chance to share my experience here in mylot.
Good Day to you!

but what is that banner thing you put in your profile. well, i guess, there are lots of things i need to know and discover in this site. to share, my first earning cost; $0.06 wahaha... but was fine with me. so happy with my rolling income. hehe...
thanks ;)

My first month total income is a measly $1.64.
This month my running total now is a whooping $8.31!
Can you believe that?
And I have 10 more days to finished my 2nd month here.
I believe this discussion you started is a gold mine.
With lot of discussion and comments going back and forth, it's a sure hit!
Congrats!
You can visit my profile anytime if you wanna see the banners I put up there with the help of mysd.
Have a nice evening!

but you know what, i usually commend this site to my friends in fb. unfortunately, i drag them here as my referrals but no one is active and showed interest to it. well, maybe they are not into writing or such. so leave them if they are interested. for all as i know i love mylot and writing or responding to any discussion were my dances as for my entertainment and as pastime aside from earning and learnings. thanks :) for joining here :)

my referrer used to teach the basics but not those starting your discussion in your interest categories. and there were few in the guidelines of faqs that cannot be understandable if not being experienced them. well to say, theory might teach us to learn but the experience is superb teacher.

Now you mention it: I just LOVE to write. And guess what? I don't even know how to start writing blogs here. They need a writing and a viewer URL. And I have to come up with that. Never done something like that before. So......am waiting for help on that one.
In the meanwhile i follow discussions and comment where I feel I can have a positive input.

i hope the one who had referred me to mylot will forgive me because i cannot remember him/her anymore. i got interested at first and posted a few discussions, only one got attention and the others with zero comments. that killed my interest so i went hibernating for almost a year. it's good that my account is still alive. the rest will be history he he
good luck to you with all your experiences here.

and so i remembered that i got less responses from the members here because i did not tagged any keywords to it or the discussion was being started under general discussion. but then, i made a story out of it and was being told that i should pick an interest for that help me attract responders that way.
thanks to you... and hope you can make it too...

I am signed up here under my auntie, who I consider my mom.. We have a friend that introduced us to mylot.. They are around when they can be but they are both pretty busy women..
I have met many many friends on here.. I am closer to some then others.. There are several people on here that have helped me in the past and several that help me every day.. The coolest thing about mylot is that no matter when you are on there are many others that are on too.. I have learned so much about life from others comments, and discussions..

I can't remember the person who introduced mylot to me if he ever did taught me how to go about here. When I registered, I just read the guidelines, read some of the discussions and tried to figure everything out myself. I even have a lot of questions and I was thankful there were many who have helped me. Even if I am an old member here, I am still thankful to all those veterans here that never seem to fail and never are tired of reminding us all the rules here.

good for you. i so remember that i was so confused what to do in here. well, i saw the whole page of mylot but not registered to it yet. so i just ignored it. but then as it was being explained to me by my referrer, happy she showed me the ways in here. so that was the beginning of my persistence in mylot community then..
thanks for joining :O)

Hello.
Well I know that since being here I have learned a few things. From Lamb, Mrs D and Hatley. There are a few others who welcomed me but peavey is the one who really got me going. I know that I would not have come back after that one time I lost everything if it were not for peavey.
I was just so down on everything that I almost gave up on many things online and offline. This is a BIG for peavey...
All of these vets are great and I really am grateful for them all.

I am not really all that new, I have been here since December of last year. I have very few posts because I have had times where I was not here for 2 months at a time.
I know that now I need to be here more... It is really a great site.
