Hey friends, i have always felt that long hairs always suits girls the most for it looks graceful on them. But when it comes to guys, i feel it looks a bit weird and awkward to see. I do not know why there is nowadays a fashion to grow long hairs by the guys. Whenever my friends insist me to keep long hairs, i have always jeered them and scolded them too.
Interestingly once i had called a guy from his back as "Excuse Me ma'm" just because he had very long hairs and that was so embarrassing for both of us. For this reason i will always prefer short hairs for guys and long hairs for girls.
What are your thoughts on this? How far do u support my thoughts? Please do share your thoughts!

There is nothing wrong if a guy has a long hair as long as it fits perfectly for him. There some guys have long hair, but its not that attractive for them and so, it depends on each guy of how he manage his long beautiful hair. Ha ha Sometimes I envy guy who has long beautiful hair because my hair is not that pretty. Same with a girl who has short hair. Some girls that have short hair are beautiful and it looks like they are working as model on television or in magazine. So it really depends of how they would handle their long beautiful hair even though they are guys

Thanks a ton for your response. Ha ha ha. Yeah some guys look great with long hairs. I remember how Indian Cricket Captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni had kept long guys and his long guys inspired many guys in India to follow his style and he was very much complemented for his looks then. But the moment he cut short his hairs, he was criticized by everyone. Very funny to hear that! I find it extremely better in sort hairs instead.

Thanks a ton for your response. Yes u are absolutely correct, there is no wrong in having long hairs for guys as long as they feel that it will suit them and that they are comfortable with it. Yes many models and artists experiment with their locks depending on the characters they play and we get swayed by their style and even follow it at times.

I have long hair. The Gods have long hair. Its natural for a man to have hair.Hair length also speaks volumes about sexuality. If a man is fond of long hair(girl),he might grow long hairs.Only my frontend is long,I don't have a ponytail, think its dorky.

Thanks a ton for your response. Well glad to hear that u have long hairs and i also agree to the fact that Gods also had long hairs but i feel that long hair looks graceful on girls just as short hairs do not go well with the girls. Even pony tails would not go well with the guys. But i think the decision of having long hairs is completely on a person.

I think that some men actually look quite nice in long hair, but only if it suits them. By that I mean it is thick and suits their face shape. Some men who are balding on the top will grow out the sides and back, to me that just looks ridiculous ... especially if they put it in a ponytail. If your losing your hair from balding or it's very thin or fine then I wouldn't suggest a man growing it out. BUT if it's thick and looks really nice then why not?

Agreed! On some men it does look good if it's thick, and suits their face! But thin and balding men to give it up and cut it short I think. And the "comb over" yikes ... don't get me started on that one!

Thanks a ton for your valuable response. Well yes u are absolutely right, long hairs looks good on some guys only if it goes well with their face and looks and not if sported by every one. Guys should be conscious especially when it comes to their hairs. For bald people, these kind of hairs is a big no and i hope they decide what is best for them.

Ha ha ha, ok i will not start any discussion on that comb over style.
Well yes, it looks good if the hairs are thick as it would suit their face and their personality also. Thin people have to be judgemental of their looks especially when it comes to their hairs so that they do not develop a hair style that looks out of place for them.

I think it is a matter of taste and a matter of culture. When I was little it was unthinkable to have men with long hair where I live. In those days it was also unthinkable for girls and women to wear pants. I looked in awe at some movie stars in magazines that dared be in pants. Today I don`t much mind long hair. It is more becoming, for my taste, to thin young men, than to obese middle aged ones. The same thing has happened with tattoes. I accept, and even like, a small tatto in a young thin younster. I don`t think they look nice in overweighted people. My personal taste.

Yes, it is most important to take care of something and not to let it go loose. I have seen how many guys and girls hardly take care of their short hairs even and i feel very bad for them as it reflects how careless and reckless they are for their own hairs. they forget the fact that other people might feel uncomfortable due to them.

Thanks a ton for your response. Yes u are absolutely right, it is a matter of taste and preference that varies from person to person. For me long hairs does not look cool on men, i like men with short hairs and as it depicts a composed personality on them. I know it sounds a bit weird for me to say this since it has become fashionable these days for the guys to sport long hairs. But they should not forget to take care of their long hairs also.

Yes, it doesn't looks appropriate for men to have long hair. Because just like what you have experienced, there's a tendency that they will be mistakenly treated as a woman. But still, it's their personal preference and they seemed happy about it so I respect their choice. They should just keep it clean and healthy. Good day!

Maybe you haven't encountered yet a man like that, when he is facing his back at you. Since our minds used to to see long hair mostly in girls, sometimes in a fast glimpse, you will mistakenly address him as a miss. But to consider a man a gay just because he misaddress the man with long hair as a woman is a poor mentality.

Thanks a ton for your response. Well yes u are very much correct, no doubt having long or short hairs depends completely on a person but they should realize the fact that some things look better on them of they follow it. But then we cannot help either after all its their personal choice. And yes cleanliness factor is also very important for the ones who have long hairs.

I used to have long hair. Now I'm almost bald. It's all about preference sometimes I like my hair long, recently I decided to have it real short for a change. Some people say I look better with long hair, others prefer the new look.
Think about it. During the early times, everyone, boy, girl, man or woman have long hair. There were no scissors, no haircutters. I sometimes wonder who invented this notion that boys must have short hair and girls should wear it long? Now all our eyes have become clouded that that is the way it should be. It's like beauty. Who defines that? It's all subjective and I'm a firm believer of free will so I think there's nothing wrong if a guy wants to wear his hair long neither if a woman wants to have it short, or even go bald.

Shaolin men have long hair at the back but bald at the front I wonder how I'll look with that haircut. If I was younger I would try it. Kings and Princes from the old days also have long hair. It doesn't really matter as long as one can carry his/her well regardless of the length of it.

@ Silentwill,
I agreed with you. During ancient times, men and women are long hair. This is what I know. There is no religion at that time. I mean there is no established religion and doctrine at that time like Islam, Christianity and so on. If you see those Chinese people during ancient times, they have long hair and it applies to all men and women. Even Jesus Christ from Christian has long hair huh? Now it all came from bible and they all follow what is written on bible and that is the time where they think that men must have short hair while women have long hair.
By the way, chinese men during ancient time have long hair and they look good. I've already seen a chinese movie. Oh. I remember. The title is "once upon a time in china" and the martial arts is Jet Li. Look at them, they have long hair and Jet li looks good at his long hair, hi hi

Thanks a ton for your response. Well yes u are very much correct, we people have only created this notion of guys to have short hairs and gals to have long hairs but there is no truth in this. One can see gals keeping short hairs and even going bald in some cases if circumstances demands them to do. so ultimately it is just a matter of self preference and on not what others opine.

guys with long hair looks cool to me as long as it suits them.
if one is religiously inclined though, the Bible would not allow it. if one has no penchant for it, then he has to be respected but we also have to respect the preference of those who want their hair long.
for me as long as it's neat and cool, then there's nothing wrong wearing long hair.

Sometimes I don't understand people who are very religious. Can you imagine? Guys were so afraid to make their hair long its just because they were forbidden? I don't know. I found it on bible that guys must cut their hair long. For me its sexists. The reason why its sexists is because they would look like a girl and that is why they were forbidden to make their hair long.
Anyway, not all bible verse is correct. Some written bible is good and some is not and they should not interpret it as literal. Still, God looks at our heart not in our hair.

Thanks a ton for your response. Well yes i second your thoughts completely, if we go by the religious means they guys are not entitled to have long hairs as that would mean going against the religion but since times have changed and people have become modernized, they follow whatever they feel like and we have no rights to have objections on their life style. But most importantly they have to keep and maintain it so that they will look more cool on them.

It is just how you think and how much you are guided by your society. Personally, I had long hair - really long upto 6 inches down my shoulders for about 3 years and I never cared what others said about it. It is my personal choice and I do not get swayed or dissuaded by what others say. I always do what I feel to do as I know I am not wrong at least in growing long hair.

I have an interesting episode to share - hope you wont mind that...
A few months back before I finally trimmed down my long hair, I had gone to an Expo - the Book Fair locally. There were some college students who saw me and started singing that song - Mangala Mangala from that Mangal Pandey movie of Aamir Khan. I couldnt relate at that moment but they kept doing it for a while. It was then when my wife told me that they were passing some comments on my long hair... and I replied... Ah, that is great, if they think that the skeleton me looks like Aamir Khan (who had a great physique in that movie), I should definitely feel proud and happy... I see that as a positive thing why think or even consider it bad

for me long hair --impossible. right from my younger days i use to keep minimum hair only so that I need to go to hair saloon once in two months only. After a few years it became once in three months as hair growth is less.
I do have some colleagues who have long hair and I just get along with them also. It doesn't affect our relationship. But in my view men should have short hair and it improves their personality.

There are many reasons why some men tend to grow their hair long. It could either mean the following:
1.) Fashion Style (a fashion statement or they are hooked to what is in in terms of fashion and styling)
2.) Band/Music Influence (Some men grow their hair as an inspiration of musical influence such as, rock band image icons and the alike)
3.) Climate/Vicinity (Sometimes some men grow their hair for some reasons of their climate. for example, Some men in cold places grow their hair long in order to keep themselves warm)
4.) Religion and Beliefs (There are some religion that require men to grow their hair longer)
5.) Budget/Thriftiness (There are men who's on the tight budget and in order to save money they tend not cut their hair because it somewhat costly.
6.) Freedom of physical expression (they just want to express themselves and don't care about physical judgement)
These are just few observations i noticed why some men liked to grow their hair long... On the contrary, if i were to choose, It's oka'y for men to grow their hair but with restrictions. It should have a desire length. Because some people might thought that you are a female because your hair is long. It should also suit in with the proportion and shape of the face. Some men grow their hair without thinking the shape of their face.

But for my man, i prefer him to have short hair, looks decent and proper for a man. That is just my preference. But good thing my husband prefers short hair, as he easily sweats a lot. well as to tradition, girls must have their hair as long one and boys must have it shorter. but that tradition changed as time flows. there is so called fashion including hairstyles and that long hair for men. well, to me, i do not have a problem to this. if one wants to have his hair longer than usual let him be. how could be a problem would arise for that. leave them if they wanted it that way. as long as no one is forcing them and as long they are good looking to it and as long as they like it that way and as long as it is okay in the school where they are enrolled or at the office they are working, so for me, i will leave them be.

as long as their hair is clean, combed, not covering their face, getting into food or whatever they're working on, then i don't really see any problem. they can even be wearing a business suit and giving a presentation and it wouldn't matter to me. what's important is they're neat and presentable.

I love long-haired guys! Prehistoric people wore long hair so you can associate it with wildness and prowess. ;)
But my real reason is that long hair make your face look slimmer/more oval what for me means just better. For me men with short hair are just grey, mediocre, there are many of such men. And I don't know why but i find them cute (like small pups) when men have hight ponytails but ok it's just me.
Another reason why i have eyes only for long-haired men is that I associate them with more sensitive people and if you read some surveys about faces you will find that during the times of peace women look for more feminine-featured men to make long relationships with, because these features are associated with better predispositions to familycare, responsibility, stabilization etc while on the other hand testosteron entails break-ups, agressiveness and risky life.
