I am a graduating student and at the same time, I am working. My work needs a lot of mental energy for I do not do physical things, I just sit in front of the computer and think and think and think. I am a video editor in one of the country's media network. I work more than 24 hours sometimes. I sleep in the morning for just minutes and then wake up again, take a bath and go back to work again. I was like that for more than 4 days. Then one day, when I went back to my normal body activity having the 18-hour work where I got the chance to sleep at night and wake up in the morning, I cannot sleep though it is so tiring, my mind seems to be awake but my body is ready to rest. Why is it like that? do you have any ideas guys?

Hi.. It looks to me that you're over working... Don't make it a habit... Or else, the result can be fatal... 'Insomnia' is the most common result... There are other things too, like depression.. 'Sleep' is an essential human need... If you don't sleep well the body will react in an 'unfriendly' manner... So start taking naps when you can... Your body is like a machine, if it is made to work more than necessary, it'll go bad...
Take care...

Yeah I know, but how can I avoid it, that is my work and I have goal and deadlines for my projects. It's ok. Thank you so much for your concern. I'll try to be normal as possible. :)

Rest is necessary for body dont do overload work otaherwise physical health and mentally both may be problem. Some time is no problem but if your daily habit is such means not good. This is good sleep at night but at least you should try 16 hours work 18 hours is too much. Because at least 7 hours sleeping is must and some time for eating and feel relaxing.

I guess your sleeping cycle had changed from the previous routine. It takes time that our body will adjust for that. Good day!

I think that you are working a little more then you should do. Please remember that you have to take rest as much as possible in your busy schedule also. Just try to take 4-5 hours sleep at the minimum and your body would be relieved.
I appreciate that you could work for such a long time and that also with total concentration. But you need to take care of yourself also. Otherwise your body is going to break down of constant activity and you even won't be able to do your regular work of 12-14 hours.

It sounds to me like you're either using too much caffeine or more likely have a lot on your mind. I know sometimes when I'm excited about something or maybe there is something big going on at work I tend to think about it more. When you go to bed do you still have work on the mind? If that's the case I'd try relaxing more before going to bed. Maybe some calming music or a hot bath would help ease your mind. Its easy to take your work home with you when life gets crazy and it certainly sounds like you have your hands full.

I think that sleep is something that is one of the most important things in your life, because of the fact that it gives you the energy that you need in order to get everything done in your every day life. Getting into a proper routine would mean that you had the energy to get your work done a lot better, and it would also mean that your body was a lot healthier for the future. You should try to get at least eight hours of sleep per night because this is the amount that everyone should try to get in order to be refreshed in the morning.

I think you should try to relax and have a good sleep, or your boby will break down. You are too tired. It's not good for your health. I never tried to work more than 24 hours at a time, I can hardly imagine it. I think you had better try to sleep at least 6 hours a day, just lying in bed if you can't fall asleep, but don't work instead of it.
