I've been suffering from chronic lower back pain. My back pain stems from my si joint, instability in my back, and very tight muscles due to the strain on my lower back. I've tried physical therapy and quite frankly it only makes my pain worse. I've also tried a chiropractor and a pain management specialist. The chiropractor was painful and pain management gave me steroid injects which just put me in a lot of pain for a few days. It hurts to sit too long, stand, walk, and especially run. I used to be very active and I'm absolutely miserable having to take everything so slow. Anyways has anyone on here been experiencing back issues? What are some things you've tried that has helped ease or be rid of the pain? I'm in pain all the time and I'd try just about anything at this point.

I was involved in an accident three months ago that has left me in lasting back pain as well. I've been visiting the chiropractor and physical therapists since the accident happened, but that really didn't seem to be doing a lot to help me to feel better. Then a month ago I had a steroid injection in my SI joint and that seemed to start to help. I had a second shot two weeks ago and that increased my improvement as well. Now my orthopedist has recommended water aerobics so that is something that I'm looking in to. I definitely know that I don't want to go the pain management route.

I've tried the steroid injection in my si joint before. The injection itself was painful for about a week and offered little to no relief. The way the doctors put it is that everyone is wired differently and they need to find just the right nerve for the injection. I'm glad it worked for you. I've heard some wonderful stories and I hope one day I'll have one too.

I hope that you do as well. I think that there are times that it simply just takes a lot of time. The thing for me about the steroid injections was that it made me feel like half of my body really wasn't there. After the first one we went to get something to eat afterwards and it was just odd. After the second I went straight home and laid down and I had the shakes like I was going through detox or something. But all in all it is worth it because I could at least walk yesterday with the kids to go trick or treating.

Sometimes when I work too hard and sit too long on my chair, I will also have back pain. When the pain comes, I feel very painful and have to lie down on bed for a rest.

I get that too. I do best with a combination of sitting and some walking but too much of either and I'm miserable.

I do know how you feel awful. The only thing that cured my back was walking ,swinging your arms like a soldier. That is the only thing that worked apart from wearing flat shoes,no heels at all.I walked for miles most days, yes it hurt for a while then one day it stopped hurting.I cured me and when the pain starts up I walk again. No more painkillers for me feedom from pain is a wonderful thing. So walk as much as you can and swing those arms.and wear trainers or flat shoes.

I try to get as much exercise as I can it just seems to aggrovate it a little more. It might depend on what is wrong with your back I suppose. I do agree though increasing flexibility and light exercise is often the key to feeling better. I hurt myself a few years ago and while I never completely healed at that time I got a lot of relief from exercising. I do not like taking pain pills. In fact I always seem to have a bad reaction to them.

Thanks a ton for sharing this discussion. Well i feel extremely bad for u and i pray that all your back problems are gone very soon. I know it must be paining very much and u must be feeling it difficult to sit and walk properly. It is shocking to hear that u have taken so many steps but nothing has worked so far. I think u have to consult a doctor again and ask him to do an entire body check up so as to detect any defect inside your body and lure him by saying that u are willing to pay as much as money he wants but at the cost of correct detection and treatment. What say?

Not a bad idea. I was thinking about going to another doctor and getting a second opinion. I'm tired of hurting all the time.
