Mangoes can be eaten ripe or unripe. The ripe mango has a sweet-sour taste and the unripe mango has sour taste. They are delicious especially if eaten with salt or fish sauce. Mangoes have lots of healthy benefits. They can get rid of stress because they contain vitamin B1, which is an "anti-stress" vitamin. They also promote good vision and have beta carotene, which is an antioxidant that protects cells from damage. They help form and maintain healthy teeth, skeletal, soft tissue, muscle bone, and skin. They prevent migraine and promote fertility to both men and women. The sweetest mango(as recorded in 1995 by the Guiness Book of Record) the carabo mango, can be found in the Philippines. Have you eaten a mango? Does it taste good to you? :-)

I eat a lot of mangoes, not necessarily for the right reasons.
one day I had toothache, and I was trying to find something to help, and I read somewhere on the internet that cashew nuts contained a sort of acid that killed the bacteria most associated with tooth infections, and then that same website said so did mangoes. so I tried eating two or three mangoes a day, and it worked, and despite having had toothache, I looked so much healthier than normal.
so I carried on.
I do like them, they are very nice, but I just thought it was funny how much healthier I looked when I started eating one or two every day, so I thought I would carry on.

Mango is a common fruit here. It is available especially in summer. I like it because it is very juicy and sweet. I also like to make the mango jam and it can match with many food. Of course the mango flavor ice cream is also very delicious. I don't know that eating the mango can get rid of the stress. In the past I heard that the banana will have such kind of function, but now I learned that mango is the same.

Wow I didn't know about these facts but- as far as I can remember, mangoes had been my favorite ever! Whether ripe or unripe, they're great appetizers for me. And just even replying to this discussion, reading the word "mangoes" salivates me haha :)
Nice details :)

I knew mangoes were healthy for you as a fruit, but i didn't know they did all that stuff you mentioned. Carrots are not a fruit but i hear they have beta carotene in them. I was told by 4 different doctors i may never be able to get pregnant so maybe i should eat mangoes and see then if i get fertile hee hee. I really only tasted mangoes once or twice in my life and didn't like them at all and never knew people ate them with fish sauce. Now i have heard of people eating fruit with salt but i don't like that. Maybe even tho i don't like mangoes i could try eating them for the health benefits. I do get migraine headaches lot so maybe that would better than any medicine i would take. Thank you so much for this discussion because i'm learned something i never knew about mangoes. See you can learn something new everyday even on mylot.
