Do you agree that the rebuke of a friend is better than the kiss of an enemy?

In the Bible it says,"Open rebuke is better than secret love" =) Only people with real concern will tell you something hurtful, as long as it's for a better reason. To hear honest corrections is hurtful, but it will serve you well. The friend just don't want you to be in more trouble, so rather than saying it's ok, she/he may even oppose on things you do. Those people who encourage you in nice words of doing things, even if they know it would cause you trouble are those who want you to fail in the future. Despite of knowing the bad consequences, yet they push you and pretends to be supportive- well I hope not to have this kind of people around. Friends are friends anyway. They can be hurtful with their words, but they will always be honest for your own sake :D

Yes open rebuke is better than secret love which often we do not really take it by heart. We Christians should always consider this so that when a brother or a friend is going the way of destruction,we should rebuke them whether they will appreciate or abhor it.

I think I'm not agree with you, friends is important than enemy. We can try to kiss our enemy, but we should not often rebuke our friend.Wish you a happy day!:)

Hi, I thnik we should consider the matter that if our friends are in the wrong direction, we must caution them and in the same way when friends rebukes us, we must take it from them as a sign of love.

When we have genuine friends who care about us they look out for our interest. Which at times may include rebuking us and setting us straight about something. No one enjoys being disciplined or counseled but if we listen we can benefit.

Hi Dominique, thank you for posting in here though this topic is not almost a month old. I appreciate how you vie the care of a friend even in a way of rebuke.

Yeah that is one of the great things about mylot we can go back and comment on discussions that are very old. Even the ones that are six months to a year, perhaps even older if we would like. It's nice that we can do this. Especially when we have discussions we have started we can go back and respond if we have missed some.

Of course, your friends accuse you, that's good for you. They are caring you. It's priceless, precious, and rare.We should cherish it.Do you think? On the contrary, the kiss of an enemy is very very dangerous for you.Your enemies must beat you .They may use unscrupulous divisive yactics. It is scary. Thanh you!1! Have a nice day!!!

yeah, the kiss of an enemy can be liken to a kiss of a cobra. just imagine a wild cobra landing its fangs on your face, how fatal could that be? the enemy is like a cobra that kills it's victim.

What do you think? I agreed with you 100% to accept rebuke from my best friend. That more better if we get some thing bad happen. If we have friend to that to us it does mean he care about us. And he don't want some thing not good thing happen to us. Friend like that for me is same as like my family

yeah, good friends, caring friends and good hearted friends are like family. Good friends don't just let you go suffer the consequences of an obvious danger, so they warn us though sometimes we take it negatively.

Hi, thanks for responding. I must agree that rebuke or correction from a friend is a sign that they truly care. But there are individuals who do not accept rebuke as concern specially from a friend.
