Teenagers nowadays face challenges and temptations in their daily lives. It is the time when they develop and create what will be there in the future. Peer pressure is one of the biggest thing that they have to endure, face and choose. When I was still younger, some of my friends tried prohibited drugs, and they said I should also join them. However, I can say that I knew better, and I did not let them influenced me in doing those things. How about you, what kind of peer pressure did you went through when you are still a teenager?

Right now i'm 16 years old and peer pressure was a common thing that i'm enduring especially now in college that some of my acquaintances and friends are exposed to different vices and they're not serious when it comes to their academics. Actually curiosity sometimes pushes me to try to smoke and drink but i never tried it! because i always put in mind my family. Though it's not obvious on me that i'm a family oriented girl and i'm easily affected whenever i have a problem or misunderstanding with my sibling or my parents i value them and I know how they sacrifice for me. I don't like them to see me engaged into any vices. I will stand for what is think is right and i'll never do anything bad that i will regret at the end.

Teenagers are now and even before are trying hard to find themselves.I was lik that before too, i really want to become one of the popular girls at school so I stick to the popular and talented ones but I failed. However, i never get influenced to do bad things like having a relationship with someone without the consent of my parents. What i did before was to cut class or to attend parties and late night going home that I used to alibi that we have some school project. But I never get to steal something or try to smoke, but I was curious of all the things adult people are doing but failed to try it. I think it is part of growing up. Every teenagers are curious and confused at the same time that they want to try some things either good or bad to know the truth behind it. Some choose the bad path that is why the experience is bad for them and vice versa.

Peer pressure is very normal in teenagers, since it is the stage for them to explore the world of maturity. I do have experienced peer pressure when i was still a teenager.
Back in the day, i was discriminated and was an outcast because people in my peers don't like the way i look, they don't understand my taste of fashion. During those years, Pop-culture was a blast in the mainstream so independent fashion such as rock and punk were a taboo. I didn't mind what they are saying behind my back until they were bullying me because of my look. and the worse part of it, many of my teachers also tells me to change my fashion style to end the bullying and to conform from their norm i did change my style but for a short period of weeks.
I relieve the peer pressure when i fell in love with music and art, back when i was a teenager we have the option to go to regular schedule subjects or with special subjects, lucky that i have supportive parents and they enroll me for special classes then at that time i had music lessons in piano i had some colleagues there that were as the same taste as mine so, i figured to go back for what i loved and stay by what i believe in.

I grew in the province and comparing with those kids in the city, I could say that grown up kids in the province are more disciplined then those of in the city. Life in the province is so simple. When I am younger, I think I'm with my friends with a hobby of just reading their lessons and going to the seashore.Only few can had a bad influenced peer pressure. Those teenagers were belong to fraternities.Good thing I did not belonged to them.

I am like you who did not get influenced by peers. I knew my path and I walked on it. People used to ask me why I am not drinking and here in india they say I am a foreigner than why I do not smoke and drink. This is stupid question to ask anyone I guess because I found it stupid. Drinking or not drinking depends in the person and not place. I must say that one needs to be strong to control himself to get affected by peer pressure. Thanks for sharing and have a wonderful day ahead.

I did have the bad side of my life in younger years. In some point, it is difficult to refrain fro having pressured. But then, it is a good thing to just have limitations.
