Having a tattoo has crossed my mind on few occasions but I could never get to actualizing it because of the fear of regret. They say, now there are technologies that could help in erasing tattoos but they are not found everywhere and they are expensive, not to mention a bit painful as well. So, I think it still isn't a good idea to have a tattoo yet. Maybe when there are better and cheaper ways to have them remove. I'll consider it seriously.

I have several tattoo's and I love them all. I have a rule when it comes to putting things on my body that are going to be there forever. The first one is that I will never put another persons name on my body unless its my kids. The second one is that before getting a tattoo I make sure that its what I really want. I usually will think about it for a year or so before I take the plunge and get it done. That way I am sure that its what I want and I wont change my mind a few years from now and regret it. You can have tattoo's removed but its a painful process and its expensive. So rather than regretting the mistake I think about it before I do it. AS for getting a persons name on your body chances are you will not end up with that person and will regret the tattoo. I have a butterfly, a mushroom, a lion and 2 dolphins and my daughters name with her date of birth each one of mine means something special to me and each time I look at them I am reminded of those special times. So I love my tattoo's and cant wait to get more.

This is why i haven't had a tattoo on myself yet, Im afraid I will just regret it. But now I am thinking, if I will have a tattoo, it would be the name of my son, Carl. I like to have it tattooed on my wrist in Alibata (ancient Filipino alphabet).
well, if you really wanna have a tattoo removed, you can have it lasered though they say it hurts more compared to having it inked on your skin.

oh oh.. very bad one..ooops.. my brother had the same problem but he had it on the biceps.. but later it took the pain and scraped it out. when he had other girlfriend. I think it is a bad idea to have a tattoo of a girlfriend because never know if the relationship would last.. Thanks for sharing and have a wonderful day ahead.

I love art but I don't do it on my skin. One of the reasons, to me permanent tattoos don't look good on skin when I get older, that's why I have given a long thought and decided not to do it. I know some people just do it for fun or to look different, a trend and mostly a statement and an artistic way of expressing themselves. I have no issues on that and don't judge on them in fact my hubby has tattoos on both arms. The right arm is a tiger and left is just a skinny dragon hehe... I know the tiger because of the year I was born and the dragon I also know even tho he didn't tell me, but I have the instinct that it was he's ex's year. Could be. So, it would be selfish of me to ask him to remove the tattoo if it can cause physical pain. I also believe he thinks of the tattoo in a different way the 1st time we met, just a macho thing I guess haha. Sorry about yours. Hope someday you can sort it out or just keep it and look at it in a different way.

Hi friend, i don't have any kind of tattoo's in my body. As you mentioned you are interested in erasing it, then why you don't take any steps to erase it? Do you still love your ex girl friend?

My brother is the same way as you are. he had his first wifes name tatooed on his chest. Now he is with another girl, and he told me it bothers her alot to see it. Here in mexico its very expensive to get one erased.

Lucky is your girlfriend , you loved her that much evident in that tattoo. I don't know i am really not fond of having that tattoo in our body. I find it not as an art but like a dirt in our skin but they look beautiful . Never i had tried it.

I have no regret to the couple tattoos I have, even though they are on both forearms and always visible. I knew when I was getting tatted, never put names on your body that wouldn't have a everlasting bond with you. Best names to have would be parents, uncles,aunts,sister,brother,ect..., but usually when someone gets any of those names tattooed on there body, it's in rememberance of them and they are deceased.

I am glad that I have never tried to get a tattoo whenever, but I have one of this colleague who got a tattoo when he was in his teens and later felt sorry for it and wanted to erase it. He erased it himself, but left a scar on his wrist. Fashionable as a tattoo might be, one needs to think about it before getting one. Thanks for the discussion.

I didn't have a real tattoo. The closest to having or dedicating a tattoo for someone was a henna tattoo as a Christmas (2004) gift for my close friend at the time. I was in this site called SWYDM where members would make salutes for other members they like or are close to by taking a picture of themselves holding a paper where the nickname/username of the member they are making that salute for is handwritten. I thought I would deviate a little from the usual salutes and thought of having a henna tattoo of my friend's inverted signature on my back. I got the inspiration from his own picture wherein he painted his inverted signature and I thought it looked like a Chinese character. I've attached a picture here of how it looked like.
I don't like the idea of getting a real tattoo for a boyfriend though because I wouldn't know if the relationship would last and with my relationship history does have a lot to say about how short-lived my relationships are.

Hi,
I have seen many young guys having tattoos in their hand. I always think that these boys write the name of their girl friend and if unfortunately they break the relationship then what would happen to them. My son don't like it. But I think there should be such tattoos which are painted and whenever we want to erase them they can be cleaned up.
