I've been following this coronation show and if you believe the news media it’s anyone’s race, but we won’t know until it’s over Tuesday night hopefully. With Mitt Romney’s flip-flopping on one issue after the other I don’t see how any voter with a conscious can vote for a man who constantly changing his views about the issues.
A president cannot create jobs; this is what congress is suppose to do pass bills that makes it favorable for job creation. Which the Republicans in congress have been reluctant to do.

Hi Sirnose! I would ask you to read the two articles below and then, leaving race completely out of it, decide who you would choose.
Barak Obama

Mitt Romney

I used to be an Obama supporter, and I'm not even American. I used to think that he was a good man and that he would do good for his country.
But when questions arose around his status of actually being American, my support for him disappeared. It's hard to trust someone who wont come clean about if he was born in Africa or not and was trying to cover that up.
I cannot support a man who tries to cover up a massive layoff that was supposed to occur just before the election, some 123,000 people were supposed to be laid off at Lockheed Martin on November 1st.
I can't support a man who leaves soldiers to die, claiming just prior that he leaves no one behind. Who fires top army officials for no valid reason.
I cannot support a man who wants universal healthcare that caters only to the rich. From my understanding, that's exactly what he's doing. The poor will not get the care they need.
I will not support a man who uses taxpayer money for vacations, if that really happened, I don't know what's true there.
Obama is a Muslim, he admits that.
When Mitt first announced that he was running for the presidency, I wondered who would actually vote for someone with a name like that.
I was told today that Romney would start a war with Canada. I don't see how that would happen, or why.
For some reason, Romney seems the lesser of 2 evils when it comes to this presidential race.

Isn't it ironic that 123,000 is the exact number of workers employed by Lockheed-Martin? They are going to lay off their entire workforce and close all their plants? Not likely. Too many commercial airliners out there supported by them.

The Obamacare Healthcare bill was enacted to grant more rights to "have not" Americans who struggle to obtain health insurance through the current system.

I can confidently say this hasn't been done by any U.S. President, but if you give me your source, I will research to find the truth.
Obama is a Muslim, he admits that.
I never heard that one. Can you provide the source of that info (preferably something not written by someone from the far-right. But honestly Kris, if he was Muslim, does that matter? We can have Catholics, Christians and Mormons be president but not a muslim? Why not?
Cheers,
Stan

The Republican House has passed several jobs bills that Harry Reid refuses to bring to a vote in the Senate. Reid has recently announced that he will never even try to work with the President, nor be bipartisan in the Senate.
If I asked you to name off the top of your head things that Romney has flip-flopped on, you probably couldn't name any without consulting a left wing blog. It's all spin and slogans and catch-phrases, with very little substance.
One of the things people love Obama best for is his flip-flop on gay marriage. He was staunchly against it before he became all for it. But he thought he needed the gay vote.
On the other hand, Romney has the support of gay Republican groups without changing his positions, because believe it or not, there are people who care more about the future of the country than they do any one single issue.

Truth is it is impossible to say what kind of president he would be. Will it be Moderate Mitt or Severe Conservative Mitt? Well we just don't know, do we? My hunch is that he would prefer to govern as Moderate Mitt but that he has been forced to take up Severe Conservative Mitt stances in order to win the Republican nomination. My best guess is that though he might try to govern from the centre, he won't be able to do so as his republican allies in Congress will drag him to the right. If he does not comply with their wishes, he will be primaried out in 4 years time.

One that's held accountable. One that's forced to compromise. One that's not allowed to deflect when asked a question. One that will actually be asked the tough questions to begin with.
Whether he's a fake, flip-floppin', rich-loving, wrong-jesus-worshiping, woman-hating warmonger or whatever else folks label him as, one thing he's not is media's golden boy. He's not billed as America's big hope. He wouldn't be in there as a result of media influence. Few in mainstream America with a microphone would have lent Romney a vote in the first place. It's back to being plain old white bread in the White House.
Romney doesn't get the Obama pass. He would be forced to act as the Commander-in-Chief rather than the Campaigner-in-Chief. He wouldn't be allowed to kick the can further or to blame his predecessor.
He'd be the first President in a long time that actually had to govern.
