Do you used to note down the number of responses or comment you do a day ?

I just used to note it down to find out how active I am.
Why do you do it ? when do you do it ?
I just used to find it at the end of the night after mylotting. I just used to increase the number of responses or comments on each of the day.
I always takes it as a challenge
Do you used to take it as a challenge ?

No. It never cross my mind to take note how many responses or comments I made in a single day. I may be more active in making responses in a single day and not much the other day. It always depend on my mood and the type of topics posted everyday.
Sometimes I in the mood of just reading other comments and rarely made any responses.
Have a nice evening.
Ciao!

Yes, that is true! Monday, I felt was kind of quiet on myLot, but it gave me time to get caught up on some things. Today, it seems like it is a busier day with my chatter on the site. It really just depends upon our moods, and what is going on in our life.
Monday was a busy day for me, and I got a lot done. Today, I am like in lazy slow mode here. So, I am enjoying just lying around on the couch and working online and playing on myLot. Truthfully with a migraine headache that is about all I feel up to doing. I can sit in the dark with my Laptop and chat with my friends.
I am taking little breaks to try to work on some dishes, but that is not as much fun! Housework is just a party pooper.

The activity here in mylot changes from day to day because we have different mood and different situations, which decides how free we are.

No, I don't take note of anything. All I do when I am here is have fun.
It is not the number of posts, responses, comments, words, lines, paragraphs, smilies, dots or anything else that counts here. It is our overall quality participation.
Do you count how many conversations you make in a day offline too?

Typing here with our friends is the same as talking with friends offline don't you think?
As long as we are having fun and doing our best it will all add up and taking time out to count things will only spoil things

Actually and honestly, I would do a mental note, but no never wrote down anything on how much I would get done on a daily basis. I would get done what I could each day that I worked the site. See I haven't been working it much either in the last few months because of personal things going on. I do not use mylot as my personal sounding board, I rather keep that to myself. Makes for less hassles later on...lol
Anyways, I do not keep track of what I do here. I just do.

the wonderboy, glad to hear that you are enjoying the myLot site so much in all its wonderful glorly.
Youreyes, yes I think in some way we all make a mental note of how much participation that we did on myLot. Then, once we see our earnings the next day depending upon our goals we make a mental note to either try to increase our participation or maintain about the same amount of participation on the site. For me earnings below .25 for the day sparks me to strive to increase my earnings, and so far their is only been one day this month so far that happened. So, I just keep doing what I have been doing enjoying the site, participating, having fun being myself, and watching my earnings increase everyday. Well, it is working as I am less than $1 away from reaching the myLot minimum for payout for the first time. When I left the site a couple years back after some rather disappointing earnings, I never thought it was possible to make the minimum amount in a month's time. As I came back on the 13th of October, and I am almost there I am starting to believe it is definitely possible to do it in a months time period. If you are really participating on a regular basis on the site. I understand that not everyone has that much time, but we all participate when we get the opportunity to do so on the myLot site.

I feel this is the best way of mylotting. Unawareness of such things (I mean about the number of responses or comments per day) just makes ourselves to enjoy mylotting and I am quite good to say that I am enjoying the beauty of mylot at it's best.

No, this never came to my mind.
I just keep on posting, submitting my response and comment on topics that I can relate with.

@ arieanna,
Thanks for the assistance here my dear
You are right- my number was 14,000+ and I told myself that I must reach 15k within a month.
So I challenge myself and I won.
I want to do the same challenge again and reach 16k before the end of this month....who knows maybe I can make it again

theownderboy, jailho meant that he set himself a time limit for when he wanted to achieve his 15,000 myLot rating. If you take a look at the number in parathesis (okay that is it we really need spell check here on myLot - I hate misspelling words ),you will notice that his myLot rating is well over 15,000.
jailho, that is quite an accompolishment!
Right now, I am just shooting for 500! That is ambitious enough for me. (LOL) I do not have a time frame for the accompolishment. I just try to increase my myLot rating by five points each day. Most day, I am able to do this, so I know eventually I will get to 500. I am at 300+ so I am more than half way there. It is all down hill from here right? LOL!

Well, if you want to know my point of view, I absolutely Mylot not challenge anyone, nor will I accept challenges.
I stick very Mylot as a means of gain, as a community where we help each other, exchange opionioni and nothing else.
I do not like challenges, I write a discussion, if people respond me ok, it means that it has aroused interest, otherwise, will do equally well.

I agree with you here albrelee. If we challenge ourself to post my everyday, the result would be we would increase our quantity of posts and decrease the quality of our writing which would completely contradict the purpose of myLot in the first place. The only goal I have is to try to increase myLot activity rating by 5+, which is fairly easy to accompolish each day seeing as that is really only being active in at least 3 discussions. The only reason that I kind of have this goal is because I want to reach the 500 rating so that I can copy and paste. Why you ask, well I'm tired of when glitches happen that I lose my post. I am tired of having to retype comments and responses to discussion questions.

Hi, thanks for sharing this. Well, me? I don't record how many responses or discussions I have in a day, I only enjoy myself posting and of course reading discussions in this site. It helps me to learn more about other people's views and stories about their lives. Posting here is not challenge at all, it's our own opinion, earning from here is just part of the website's program for the people to be more active. But, I can say it's exciting to be here. You can be free and you can be true to yourself, you don't have to hide anything from the people who understands you. You earn here from time to time, you reach out to other people who needs help and you can talk to all who's very far from your place.

I agree participating in myLot is no challenge. Tearing yourself away from the site, now that is challenging. I love it here! There are times especially if I am in a great discussion that I truly do not want to leave the site!
Sometimes, I even use myLot to motivate myself to go do those pesky unwanted chores like wash the dishes. So, I will work a little here in myLot go do a sink full of dishes. Then, my task is done, and I reward myself by giving myself some more time to answer discussion on myLot!
You bring up a good point here about reading those wonderful posts of fellow members. Interesting how these discussion mentioned keeping track of how many responses and comments that you make, but it somehow left out the most important part to participting here on myLot, which is reading others posts. I mean how can you even begin to think of participating on myLot, post a response, or comment without first reading what others have written so far in the conversation. What's more, this is one of the very basic guidelines of myLot that you are supposed to read what other wrote. It is not about merely writing to get paid. It is all about participating in discussions through both reading and writing. It is a two way street here in myLot, and you need to be willing to partake in both activities.
I do not keep track of how many posts that I make here on myLot. I think for me that would defeat the fun of it. It would also slow me down, whichmeans I would have less time to read all these great posts, and to respond to them.. I think that is what makes myLot fun participating in the conversation. Adding comments to the discussion with the desire to keep the conversation going. It makes the site lively and fun. Plus, you learn so many interesting things, and truly get to know the members here on the site.

I use lists at work to keep track of the reports I need to finish and their deadlines. As for myLot I am not very conscious of my daily participation. If I see a lot of discussions and I have the time, I will respond. But if the discussions do not interest me or I can't relate and have no way to contribute, I don't push it even if I have the time. I figure new discussions would eventually be created that I'll have something meaningful to contribute on.
In the Philippines, there was a time that they tried following the Daylight Savings Time. Either I wasn't born yet or aasn't old enough to remember. But now we don't follow it anymore.

Yes, you are both right. As I strive to become better at time management one thing that I am realizing is lists help for some things. I mean some lists really do help us to be organized and less overwhelmed, but if we wrote down every little thing that would not be a good use of our time either. It is all about realizing what items we need to keep track of in life so we can be more productive; then letting go of the others and / or delegating. I delegate myLot to keep track of how much that I participate, which they do such a great job of reporting to me through my earnings that I receive the next day.
I only wish the report came out early especially now as it has shifted to being one hour later. I do love the bonus hour that I get to participate before the time switches to the next day, but now that means I have to wait one more hour to see how much I earned. I am not sure if they have daylight savings time all over the world, but in the United States we have it. Arizona and Hawaii are the only two states that do not change time. We just have to adjust to everyone else changing, but our time remains constant.

It's not something that I've ever done. I don't write down or note the number of responses that I've done in a day. I would sometimes try to write a certain number of responses a day, but I wouldn't necessarily write down how many I had written in a day.

I try to respond to as much discussions as I can in a day.I am not a hypocrite to deny that I also want to earn here as much as I can. But some days really are not that great. There are few discussions that I would be responding and so I just respond to a few on those days. I couldn't keep track of the number of comments I make.

jenny, I agree that a big reason that a lot of us our here is to earn some extra money, but we have all learned to kind of put that on the back burner while we are participating on the site. I mean that it is not what we are thinking about when we are reading and responding. We are thinking that we enjoy being on the site. Now, the next morning we definitely all want to rush to see how much we earned from our previous day's work here on myLot. It is only natural.
Yes, I agree with you it is easy to spend tons of hours on the myLot site especially if there are great discussion. I tend to leave the laptop on the couch when I go to bed, so I would not know about being stuck in bed, and doing myLot. Although I once had this online interactive class that we had one Saturday morning at 8am, I knew the format of the class well the instructer would lecture for the first 100 minutes of the class the last 15 - 20 minutes we were expected to participate in discussions via microphone on the computer. Well, I got up a few minutes before 8am logged into the class on the computer that was in the bedroom at the time (I did not have a laptop just a PC back then) and went back to lay sleeply in bed. I was half asleep listening to the lecture. Then, I got up a little bit before the part where I knew we were expected to participate.

Psst, can you keep a secret? I am just joking!
I think the secret to myLot is to just have fun and forget about the earnings! I mean it because as soon as you start having fun you will get so caught up in having fun participating that you will totally forget all about earning money. The next day you will come to the site, and see a pleasant surprise that your earnings rose or even skyrocketed past the amount that you thought you could earn in a day! You will feel motivated to do it all again. Then, you will have so much fun enjoying both the great discussions and seeing your earnings increase each day on the site.

Actually, no. But this is a good tactic for monitoring how much you have done here in myLot. Yes, the earnings are all about participation, so it is really pointless to keep track because that will not help you to figure out how much you really participated on the site. Plus, I think the idea of keeping track defeats the whole concept of participation. This is because if you are trying to knock out a certain number of response and comments each day; then you are going to feel rushed which means you are probably not doing that much reading. Then, how can you post quality information if you have not read the posts or add meaningful content to the discussion. Personally, I do not think the concept of quantity belongs here in myLot espcially if you read the myLot guidelines.

Well Hatley, I am glad to hear it is a rookie mistake. I recall the days when I first started here. I tried to make money with the site, but ended up leaving in frustration because it just did not seem possible to earn on myLot.
Recently, I decided to come back and give myLot another try. I am glad that I returned. I read some of the discussion on myLot interest tab, and they really helped me to understand that it is all about participation, and how to be more active here on the site. Once, I realized that my earnings started to soar, and on a couple days they have soared right through the roof. Honestly, i was pretty shocked a few days ago when my earnings for participating one day were well over one dollar. I I mean, I had read that this was possible, but until it happened it was very hard to believe that you could make this much per day just from participating on the website. Now, I am closing in on reaching the minimum for payout for the first time ever hear on myLot, so I am pretty ecstatic about both the myLot site and the earnings!

For me, only three numbers in myLot count!
1. My myLot earnings that are displayed at the top of the page. I think we can all agree this an important number.
2. My reputation rating. I like seeing it there it makes me feel good. It would make me feel even better if it went back up to 9 not sure what happened, but I here it tends to fluctuate. I am confident it will go back up in the future, so I am really not that worried about it.
3. My myLot rating number. I am striving for reaching 500, so I can copy and paste. With all the myLot little glitches and web browser glitches that happen. I must admit that I am kind of anxious to reach this milestone, so that when glitches happen I will not have to retype the enter post.
Otherwise, if I really want to look at some of my status I can check my profile page, so there is no need to keep track. The only thing that I would like would be if on our earning page if myLot would list our average earnings. Sometimes, I am just currious aboout this number. Yes, it is simple to calculate, but it would just be a nice feature. Speaking of the earnings page, does anyone know what the rewards column in the earning pertain to as far as the various features on the site? It is the only one that I do not understand, so if anyone knows please tell me. Thank you so much.

I do agree that it is all about finding good discussion. That is why I like getting the myLot digest. I generally find at least 1 - 2 really good discussions listed in there that I want to respond to like this discussion here. I also get notifications of discussions that my friends have started, and I will sift through those notifications. I am getting a lot better at deciding which ones interest me, and deleting the notifications of discussiongs that I am not interested in participating. This has helped me to focus, and be able to keep my inbox a little more organized so I can be more productive.
