How to make my discussion as the top or hot one ?

One thing I learned from a seasoned myLotter here, discussions in 'hot' tab are the ones which are most active within 24 hours of when they were first posted. Active does not necessarily mean getting the most responses within 24 hours. There is one there right now posted 10 hours ago with only 6 responses. But as you can see, that discussion was active since it was posted with each of the responses receiving many comments back and forth. And it helps to get a topic to be active if the starter is available and willing to comment back on responses. That will increase the chance for the topic to be on 'hot' tab by keeping it going further as how discussions should be. Welcome to myLot!

Hi! Welcome to mylot! Well, I once had a discussion that stayed under today's top then at hot discussions tab. It has 10 responses that time so I was wondering how did it happen. So, to my confusion, I made a discussion asking about top and hot. Here's the link: http://www.mylot.com/w/discussions/2717288.aspx You may get something useful from here but I cannot assure that either. And that discussion of mine went to the hot tab too.

I have no idea how that really happen . What I would say though , the topic must be relate able to most that is one option I think . The most popular one is having friends here , I think people tend to rate a discussion better when they are friends. I dont know for sure how it goes , but I think its members that rate the discussion .

The best thing I can think of is to choose a 'hot topic' (that is, one which everyone is thinking about and/or having to deal with). I don't really care how people will regard my posts so I don't really 'consider my audience' before writing them (which may be the first step---the 'not really caring,' that is), but the discussions I'VE had on the hot-topics list were about (if I remember correctly) appropriate money-making. Incidentally, THIS discussion is on the hot-topics list!

Just be natural. Create discussions based on true to life experience. That would be something that people can relate. I'm for one, doing my best to create new and fresh ideas for I want to be rewarded. I hope you can have one in the near future. You may just wait, your time may come to be place on the hot spot. You can make easy discussion with all your fiend will be understand about that's topic and don't forget to check all mylot rules about hot to start discussion. Some times, a discussion will get attention for your friend immediately after you publish it. But some times, more longer , that's depend your topic

shiwenlingjy hi for starters perhaps the ones chosen for top; or hot probably have responses that the maker has commented back on as so few here get the i ea that to have a good discussion you must discuss it through comments back to all of us who respond to you.I have been on top and on hot both but I do try to always comment back to the responders who gave their time and their typing to show me what they thought and I want t o interact with my responders. so perhaps thats a thought if one is aiming at hot or top.me I do not as I just want to have fun. Top and hot do not pay more either so w hy worry about getting there.you are not paid for being chosen for e ither one so why care?

One way you could get to the top is just by posting discussions that most people could generally relate with in the most populated area, though chances may be slim. Regardless of the chances, there isn't a limit as to how many times you can get this chance, as (this is simply a rough guess) you could essentially make an unlimited amount of discussions. Now whether it's worthy of answering and interesting to respond to is another story. Have fun!

I think it is hard to make discussion as the top or hot one. Recently I only make the responds. If there is sometthing I want to share, I will start a new discussion. Good luck.

Make an Interesting Discussion that most people could answer.

For me to make a discussion more visible to other users here in this site, you should pick a discussion that has more interest and more garnered participations in the myLot community. Pick a topic that is timelier, more up to date, and more talk about. Have a approachable tone while you are making some discussions. Lastly, put up a discussion that everybody can relate to it.
