I am still trying to find social bookmarking sites that are easy to use to promote my online writings.
I just discovered tumblr. Is anyone else on the site and how good / easy is it? It was real easy to add one of my links. It is a good looking site.
It is easy to add links to Reddit but are we allowed to promote our own writings? Is it considered spam? I can not figure this one out? Anyone with experience on this site?
I have a lot of problems with Digg It and Stumble Upon. I find them too complicated to use.
Redgage was recommended to me by another mylotter and I really like the site. I have had some success with this site.
Can anyone recommend other social bookmarking sites that are simple to use?

Hi friend, i am not in tumblr, good to know that you find it very easy. For me adding links in stumble and digg is easy and i am getting good traffic with stumble. What about tumblr traffic? are you getting lot of views from it?
You can get more views in delicious, pintrest, netlog, myspace, apsense. I am a member in all those sites and getting traffic from them

I have just joined tumblr and only promoted one article. it is too soon to know if it will help. I am very bad with these social bookmarking sites. I have tried digg and stumble. I find them complicated and have had no success trying to use them. The only one that has worked at all for me is Red Gage.
I will look into all the sites that you have recommended. I am looking for simple sites likes red gage where all you are required to do is add your link. I do not want to be required to digg or group. Are any of the sites that you recommended easy to use where all that is required of you is to post a link to your article and nothing more?

Redgage is real interesting. You can write for the site. You can add pictures. You can also post links from your other writing sites. I have gotten some traffic from redgage. And redgage also offers contests.
It's worth checking out.

I hope that you might get this comment. I added my link to more than one social bookmarking site. I do not yet know which one worked but overnight, I got an additional four more views for one of the articles and two more views for another article. For all my articles on yahoo voices, I went from about 6 views one day to about 19 the next after adding my articles to various social bookmarking sites.
I am not certain which bookmarking site worked best. I will have to look into it. I used reddit, tumblr and delicious.

I am not on tumblr but I keep thinking about it but I am yet to just look at the site . I join Reddit recently , not sure if its working yet but I will continue to try . I sometime have little time at home to do all the things I want online .

Was not able to check my article to see if I had gotten views . I dont quite understand the rules on Reddit , yes they want you to wait for quite some time before making more post and the site navigation is so bad there . It take me some time to get around to what I want to do and I also wonder if its done correctly .
I am going to get more familiar with these sites and make special bookmark folder for them on my computer .

Tumblr looks to be an interesting site. it seems easy enough to use. I have posted a link to one of my articles but it was so easy that I am not certain I did it right.
Reddit is a little strange. Have you read their rules? I do not understand them. I have posted a link to a couple of my articles. I have responded to other blogs but it was strange. I had to wait so many minutes before I was allowed to post more than one response. There is a time out period.
I have problems with social bookmarking sites. Red gage is one of the easiest ones to use.

I tend to use Facebook and Twitter to post more of my poetry and fiction. I use Reddit to post my more newsy items, because I’ve found that I get more views and, therefore, more money that way. I don't know much about other social networking options. But I feel pretty comfortable with my system.

So, you like Reddit? I like Reddit myself but I find the rules a little strange. I also have found that there is a time out between posts, whether I post my own links or whether I comment on other posts. I am having some trouble figuring out Reddit.
I have gotten more views over the last few days and I know that it came from a social bookmarking site but I do not know which ones.

I more prefer to choice stumble upon to promote my online writing. It good bookmarking website with a lot of member from other country. Just try to post it and make activity as active member in stumble upon, and after that believe me, traffic will flood to your article if your article really make them curious

I do not seem to understand how to use stumble upon. I have tried to and do not have any success. Maybe I need to try again. A lot of people recommend stumble upon.

Tumblr is a great site for not only getting people to view your writing but also to communicate with other writers. First you need to follow other blogs so that they have an opportunity to check yours out and hopefully follow you back. Then, because they follow you, they will be exposed to the things you post. It helps to search tags like "writing, write, my writing, poem" or things like that to find posts tagged with said words. Also, tagging your own posts with those words can help attract other writers looking for similar posts/blogs. Good luck!

Thanks for the info. Tunblr looks like a real interesting site. I am going to have to get better acquainted with it. I am not quote certain what I am supposed to do on the site except post or add links and content.

Either I made a typo or safari did it for me. I meant to say "not quite certain" in my last sentence.
