I am taking online classes and I love it, however sometimes I think it is harder online than it is in a traditional classroom. I already registered for classes online next semester but after that I am thinking of doing classroom. Anyone else tried online classes? If so which do you learn and do the best with?

Hi Ladycwells! What a great question. I teach online as well as in-person classes. It's true some people do well online, others struggle. The difference has to do with how self-disciplined you are. There is no one answer as to whether they're harder or not. Again depends on the person. For me personally, I know that if I don't have a live person to be held accountable to, I tend to not do it. I've learned this about myself and recognize it. Online classes would be disastrous for me. I know myself well enough to know that I would start gung-ho and do really well - even work ahead - but then I'd come up with reasons to not follow through. You gotta know yourself. It sounds like it's a fun experience for you. You need to look at what you did in your past online classes and figure out if you were able to stay on track and get the work done on time and if yoou were able to operate well online. Of course, it does also depend on how much support is available. No matter how much support is there though, you need to be a self-starter.

These days on-line courses can be excellent especially learning a foreign languages. A native speaker can be teaching from the Internet. I had to do some extra qualifications to be accepted at university. I did a General Certificate in Maths at a further education college. The course began at a local secondary school however it closed due to not enough students. The tutor managed to keep one course at a community center much further away. Luckily my friend's dad was willing to drive us over there and back again. It was an evening course so it was tiring. The tutor gave extra lessons for those struggling. Amazingly I got the grade C I needed to get on my university degree course. I did distance learning with my Advanced Level English Literature. That was similar to on-line learning. I found the class much better than studying at home. Still I passed that and got to university on my chosen course.

I've been taking online classes for about 3 years now and I love it. Each semester I also take a class on campus but all my other courses I take online. It's so much more convenient for me and I love them. I don't have to worry about always being at school at a certain time and I can do my schoolwork whenever I want. It's also nice because I can have a flexible work schedule since I don't have to worry about my school schedule.

I am not sure to join any online class because I can't find strong motivation in online class. We can't meet our teacher directly. Some times there was psychological effects when we meet some one that have more smart than us. It can make us became more enthusiastic in learning.

My first born started college last year, and one of his course is only available as an online format. I was a bit concerned how he'd do because it'd be the first time he's taking an online class. I'm glad he managed to go through it alright; although as he's more of a loner, I'd prefer him to go to regular classrooms...

I haven't tried online classes yet, but I also do not want to try since I'm really not into "techie" stuff in which online classes require. But I guess it's also nice to take online classes because you don't ave to bother yourself about going to school and any others. But then, i find it more interesting if I learn in a traditional classroom for you see other real faces than just virtual, right? Just saying :)
